ROCKPORT A truck for a gutter cleaning company hit a low hanging branch and took it down on Seagull Street at 9:50 a.m. on Monday, but the driver escaped injury and there was just minor damage to the truck.

Police said the driver moved the branch to the side of the road after the accident, and the Department of Public Works was notified.

The Rockport Fire Department said residents on Granite Street reported smelling smoke around 2 p.m. Sunday. Police said firefighters were at a residence for about 20 minutes, but could not find anything.

Police responded to a noise complaint shortly after 2 p.m. at South Street on Sunday. Police said the neighbors called reporting loud music.

Although the vehicle was gone when police arrived, they were called to investigate an illegally parked vehicle at Pleasant Street at about 2:20 p.m. on Sunday.
