MANILA Kris Aquino thanked moviegoers for the continued success of her movie Feng Shui, as well as her son Bimbys movie The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin.

Speaking on The Buzz where she is one of the hosts, Aquino announced that Feng Shui has already earned P88 million in the box office, while The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin earned P172 million as of 3 p.m. Sunday.

Aside from Aquino, Feng Shui also features Coco Martin, who admitted that it was a challenge for him to do a horror film for the first time.

The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin stars Vice Ganda, Alex Gonzaga and Richard Yap.

The eight movies competing in the main section of the Metro Manila Film Festival premiered on Christmas Day.

Last Friday, MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino, who also heads the Metro Manila Film Festival executive committee, revealed the top four films in the box-office race.

In no particular order, Tolentino said the four films leading at the box office as of December 26 were: "The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin," "Feng Shui" "My Big Bossing," and "Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles."

Tolentino refused to specify the rankings of the films, saying the executive committee is careful not to influence moviegoers by announcing a top favorite in terms of nationwide earnings.

Tolentino said the festival is likely to hit P1.2 billion in gross earnings when it closes on January 4.
