Geomancer Marites Allen believes that feng shui is present in our everyday lives, and the elements of good fortune can be courted even from the smallest things. And, for Allen, a good way to start incorporating feng shui into our lifestyles is through "auspicious" clothing.

"It's like affirming your personal desires through the clothes you wear, and aligning them with your surroundings, which is what feng shui is all about. It's like using fashion as a charm," Allen says over her fashion brand, Frigga.

Named after a major deity in Norse mythology, Allen's clothing line takes cue from the concept of prosperity and luck brought by feng shui through auspicious designs, as seen in the brand's current collection.

Comfy tops with mystic knot or peony prints in fiery colors are considered as luck enhancers for 'Love and Marriage,' while green and blue dresses court "income opportunities and personal abundance" for 'Wealth and Prosperity.'

As for 'Good Health and Longevity,' Frigga suggests "soothing and nurturing earth tones" with the lucky symbol of antahkarana as a print.

Some tops and dresses also feature the five-element pagoda print, which is believed to control misfortune. Colorful tees with the Ruyi sign are thought to be helpful in bringing fame, power, and popularity. The current collection also has the 'Allies & Friends' casual shirts, which allow the wearer to supposedly "borrow positive energies" from people.

In a press note, Frigga discloses that there's a scientific basis on lucky dressing. "Recent studies on embodied or enclothed cognition have shown that what we wear affects our psychological processes or how we think. The symbolic meanings attached to our clothes can alter how we approach and interact with our surroundings," the statement reads.

"Just as feng shui is all about maneuvering the environment to suit our aspirations, Frigga is about knowing what to wear and why we should wear them. Whether it is dressing up to convince, to attract, or to appear in control, Frigga fulfills the need to be stylish and auspicious at the same time," explains Allen.
