Real estate agencies are stepping up their efforts to cash in onChinas growing appetite for Australian property.

Property listings on Chinese websites and real estate copy referring to feng shui are just the tip of the iceberg.

And in some cases, the auctions are even conducted in Chinese.

International listings portal Juwai.com co-chief executive Andrew Taylor said Australian agents spent 814 per cent more on advertising on their website in January compared to the same month last year.

And it seems to be paying off. According to the latest Foreign Investment Review Board approval figures,Chinatopped the list of foreign investors after pouring $5.9 billion into Australian real estate in the past financial year.

There are so many more Chinese buyers than in the past, Mr Taylor said.

They are culturally distinct - the ones that come from mainlandChina- and geographically distant, so you cant use the same tools that you use for other buyers who are based inAustralia.
