Here are Hanz Cuas tips, which range from cleaning the house and wearing certain colors to serving specific types of food:

Do a general cleanup of both the inside and outside of your house before New Years Day, Cua said, noting that broken objects and shabby surroundings invite poverty, according to feng shui.

After getting rid of dirt and clutter, complete the cleanse by burning incense, he said.

2. Wear red and green

Cua said red symbolizes power, while green stands for wealth.

3. Get a new haircut

Cua said a new haircut will activate the peach blossom star of romance in feng shui, which is ideal for singles who are hoping to find their special someone.
