Vroum Vroum revs up to win at Limerick

The exceptional Vroum Vroum Mag preserved her unbeaten record over fences with a facile success in the Grade Two Irish Stallion Farms EBF Dawn Run Mares Novice Chase at Limerick.

Jumping boldly in the hands of Ruby Walsh, the six-year-old tanked through race, taking the lead with a prodigious leap six out before cruising clear to an eight-length victory on the bridle at odds of 4-11.

Fresh from a record-breaking week at the Cheltenham Festival, it was Willie Mullins' first victory in the race since 2008, but Vroum Vroum Mag's performance was worth the wait.

Keppols Queen (6-1) ran out a determined winner of the Grade Three Kerry Group EBF Shannon Spray Mares Novice Hurdle for Jessie Harrington and Robbie Power.

Having wrestled the early lead from Dalmatia, the daughter of Indian River set about making the contest a real test of stamina and as the field straightened up for home, it was clear that she had short-priced favourite Lyrical Theatre in trouble.

A slick leap at the final flight sealed the contest and the seven-year-old scampered clear to land the spoils by five and a half lengths.

Davy Condon made every yard of the running aboard Chatham House Rule in the Happy Mothers Day Hurdle.

Sent off the well-backed 9-10 favourite, Gordon Elliott's four-year-old had his rivals toiling a long way from home and had enough in reserve to repel the challenge of Tarabiyn by two and a quarter lengths.

The Mad Well (3-1) fought off the opposition in tenacious fashion in the Book Online Atwww.limerickraces.ieHandicap Hurdle, streaking five and a half lengths clear on the run to the line having led from the drop of the flag.
