Verdict

The veteran NOZIC had dropped to his lowest ever mark when gaining his 10th success over fences at Plumpton and though 6lb higher he should still take some beating. He's handed the vote over Tokyo Javilex, who was having just his second start over fences when scoring at Sedgefield but has been raised 7lb. Mon Chevalier's form figures flatter him as he's been beaten a long way in recent starts but Walden Prince has shown enough potential in three runs over fences to be considered. Islandmagee has only had three runs over fences and definitely improved on his latest start at Wincanton.

Tokyo Javilex (FR) 10-11fav (11-8) Raced in last, jumped slowly and reminder 1st, jumped right 5th, headway after 9th, challenged last (normal 2 out), led bypassing omitted last, soon clear, stayed on well, won at Sedgefield 2m hcp chs 0-100 (5) sft beating Sendiym (11-7) by 4 1/2l, 5 ran.

Islandmagee (IRE) 3-1 (11-9) Tracked leading pair, went 2nd before 8th until before 3 out, went 2nd again 3 out, ridden and no impression after 2 out, lost modest 2nd post, 3rd of 5, 5l behind Martin Cash (10-7) at Wincanton 2m hcp chs 0-105 (4) sft.

Walden Prince (IRE) 4-1 (10-11) Held up in rear, not fluent 1st or 3rd, headway 7th, challenged before last, stayed on, held towards finish, 2nd of 5, 2 3/4l behind Tri Nations (10-6) at Stratford 2m 1f nov hcp chs 0-115 (4) gf in Jul.
