LAMOURE, N.D. A car chase here took authorities down gravel roads and through fences and fields Wednesday.

WDAY-TV reported the incident as a four-car chase with two vehicles being totaled.

The cars ended up taking out a fence, driving through two plowed fields. The vehicles then returned to the road, only to drive through a gate and then through a pasture, where the suspects vehicle eventually got stuck.

Police arrested the driver of the vehicle, 30-year-old Joshua McCleary, of Dickey. LaMoure Police Chief Ian Mattice chased McCleary with the help of state patrol and a LaMoure sheriffs deputy.

McCleary is charged with driving under the influence and fleeing. Police say they also found meth in his vehicle. During the arrest, Mattice said McCleary spit on him, so he faces a charge of contact of bodily fluids.

The officers involved suffered minor injuries.
