ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) -

The barricades for the 2015 St. Petersburg Grand Prix are already moving into place. In the near future, thousands of museum visitors will have to use shuttles to get to the Salvador Dali Museum, which will once again be inside the race course.

For ten years, March has included tensions between two of St. Petersburg's major attractions.

However, this year, the two contenders are starting fresh.

"The museum is obviously very important to the city, as is the race, so how can we work together and make it mutually beneficial?" Dali marketing director Kathy Greif old FOX 13 News. "We have to be good partners to this community."

Grand Prix president and co-owner Kevin Savoree said, "And we have to be good partners to our stakeholders."

Last year, the museum actually shut down race weekend, when patrons had to buy race tickets just to get to the front door.

This year, the Dali will host the Grand Prix's welcoming party Thursday night of race week.

"What other city can host something like that for all of its competitors and sponsors?" Savoree queried.

The museum will also house corporate grand prix parties during the races, and the respective websites for the Grand Prix and the Dali are cross-promoting.
