EASTLAKE, Ohio A 24-year-old man faces charges, accused of hitting fences in front of a drug store and then driving in the wrong lane on the road while intoxicated, according to police.

Eastlake police say it happened just before 3 a.m. Thursday.

Officers saw a vehicle driving on west on Vine at a high rate of speed before losing control, going off the road and then over a curb into the lot of Walgreens. The driver hit several metal fences and a brick pillar as well, said police.

The driver then continued onto state Route 91, traveling north in the southbound lanes. He then went over the median to the northbound lanes, said police.

Officers were able to stop the car at state Route 91 and Stevens.

The car sustained a flat tire and damage to the front end, said police.

The driver was arrested on OVI, hit-skip and several other traffic violations.
