Carl Olah, Sr., 73, of Elyria, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014 at University Hospitals of Cleveland, after a brief illness. Carl was born November 2, 1940 in Elyria.

He was a graduate of Elyria Catholic High School. Carl served in the United Sates Navy. He worked for General Motors as an electrician until his retirement.

Carl was a member of Elyria Amvets Post #32, Oberlin VFW Post #6273 and Elyria American Legion Post #12. He enjoyed gardening, reading and crossword puzzles.

Carl is survived by his wife of 22 years, Beverly (nee Gardiner); father, Jesse Ganzales; daughters, Danielle Rogers of New London, Patricia Wohlever of Elyria, Barbara Wohlever of Jackonsville, North Carolina and Diana Pierce of Elyria; sons, Phillip (Brenda) of Columbus, Carl Jr. of Elyria, Daniel of N. Ridgeville and Derek of Avon lake; sisters, Ethel McCartney, Stella (Ronald) Fiskanin, Anna Marie (Mike) Castillo and Betty Jo Shannon; brother, Dennis Aikens; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Golda Aikens (nee Olah); mother/grandmother, Meri Irma (nee Palczer); father/grandfather, Julius; son, Dennis Huebner; sisters, Otilla Tillie Meyers, Magdaline Perry; brothers, Nicholas, Julius Pundy and John.

Family will receive friends Friday, May 23, 2014 from 4 to 7 P.M. at Elyria Amvets Post #32, 11087 Middle Ave., Elyria, where services will be held at 5 P.M. Burial will be private.
