JUPITER, Fla.-- The new Indiantown Road bridge over Florida's Turnpike is opened Monday, and demolition of the old bridge will begin the Tuesday.

To prepare for both, intermittent lane closures will occur for the next two weeks, and traffic will be detoured to Interstate 95.

As part of the opening for the new bridge, entrance ramps at Indiantown will be closed from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Monday and possibly Tuesday nights.

During demolition of the old bridge, southbound turnpike lanes under the bridge will be closed from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Tuesday through Feb. 7.

And beginning Feb. 10, northbound lanes under the bridge will be closed from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. nightly until Feb. 13.

The $4.7 million new bridge is more than 2 feet higher than the original turnpike bridge, which was replaced to provide additional clearance for tall vehicles.
