KNOXVILLE (WATE) Demolition crews tore down two buildings Saturday next to Saint John's Episcopal Church in downtown Knoxville.

Knox Heritage and neighbors tried to save the buildings on Walnut Street, but the city approved the demolition last month.

The church plans to build a walkway and landscaping on the lots.
