The demolition permit for the former Chardonnay house was officially issued a day after the Rochester City Council approved the Second Street Southwest project in a contentious early morning vote.

The Rochester Building Safety Department issued the permit for the demolition of the 125-year-old structure at 723 Second St. S.W. on Wednesday. Curtis Shuster, who owns the property, originally applied for the demolition permit on Feb. 13.
