Panel supports Ohio woman's effort to produce playing cards featuring cold-case murders

CINCINNATI Cincinnati city officials have pledged to help a crime-victim advocate produce decks of playing cards featuring cold-case homicides.

Hope Dudley says the aim is to get the cards each one featuring the victim of an unsolved murder into the hands of prison inmates and others who might have information.

The Cincinnati Enquirer (http://cin.ci/1s4Kio7 ) reports that the 63-year-old Dudley showed off the cards to members of the city council's law committee on Monday. Members pledged to promote the project and possibly use police forfeiture funds to help put more decks on the street.

In all, 6,000 decks have already been distributed in Ohio prisons.

Similar decks of cards also are being distributed in prisons in other states. Authorities say any publicity about unsolved slayings can help.
