As the sun beamed down on the freshly poured pavementWednesday afternoon The Glen premiered its new building and renovation project during a Community Celebration and Ribbon Cutting.

Todays celebration earmarks a pivotal point in our next chapter. This is not only a new beginning for residents who chose to reside with us; it is a new beginning for The Glen community, Debra Williams, President and CEO, said.

The Glen is a non-profit that has been serving the community for more than 120 years.As a life plan community offering independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and memory care.

Redbrook the newest addition to The Glen, is projected to add more than 75 residents to the community.

Though we have expanded, The Glen has made every effort to keep community at the forefront of our role, Williams said. This is a moment we have anticipated since 2017. I am very proud of the work that has been accomplished."

In addition to Redbrook, which broke ground in January of 2020, The Glen has completed exterior renovations to The Stiles Apartments and Village Health Care. A secure connecting link was also added between the two Cottages Memory Care buildings.

The Glens general contractor was Lincoln Builders. Redbrook includesfive different floor plans ranging in sizes of 727 to 1,140 square feet.

Features include granite countertops, crown molding throughout, stainless steel appliances, walk-in showers, walk-in closets, 9-foot ceilings, wall safes, in-wall medicine cabinets, washers and dryer in units, and private balconies or patios.

New amenities touted in the building include a wellness center with an indoor, heated pool with locker rooms, a strength training room with state-of-the-art equipment using HUR SmartTouch Technology and a spa and salon.

Other additions are covered parking, climate-controlled resident storage, spacious grounds with multiple walking paths, two different dining options and bocce courts.

With the Stiles Apartments, Cottages, Village Health Care and now Redbrook, we are one community and we will continue to emphasize our value as a community providing life enrichment to older adults, Williams said.
