WILMINGTON (WWAY) -- Are you fed up with smudges and streaks across your nice granite countertops? Are you tired of spending so much money on that specialty cleaner you buy for them? Alicia Ross understands. She shares with us a homemade recipe for granite cleaner in this week's Kitchen Scoop.

Homemade Granite Cleaner

1/2 cup rubbing alcohol 2 cups water 3 to 5 drops dishwashing detergent such as Dawn TM 5 to 10 drops of essential oil of choice

Mix together in a clean, designated spray bottle. Mark clearly GRANITE CLEANER. To use: Spray lightly onto granite and wipe in circular motion with clean lint-free cotton cloth such as an old diaper. As with all cleaners, keep out of reach of children.
