Hampton Bay Valencia Laminate Countertop

I had a "mid 50's" era kitchen including these really awesome metal cabinets. The overall layout was really good and I didn't want to gut the kitchen; I just wanted to freshen it. The counter-tops were original and included metal trim which I was always thought was a great harbor for germs - it had to go. Home Depot was great with recommendations for repainting the cabinets (Rustoleum) and then we had to decide about how and what to replace the counter-tops with: tile, stone, laminate... Again, ... read more Home Depot was there with a wonderful option at less than half the price of the custom counter tops we wanted but really couldn't justify plus these were ready immediately plus we got that really cool edge (makes me think of a waterfall). I also love the little tiled area we put next to the stove - again with tiles and advice from Home Depot. I think the all the counters not only look great but protected the "50's" vibe while providing a clean, modern, budget friendly upgrade. I really do "LOVE MY KITCHEN!"
