Actor Freddy Rodriguez puts Gold Coast condo up for rent

Actor and Chicago native Freddy Rodriguez has placed his newly renovated, two-bedroom Gold Coast condominium unit up for rent for $3,300 a month.

A Lincoln Park High School graduate known most for his work on TVs Six Feet Under and Ugly Betty, Rodriguez, 39, bought the 1,300-square-foot condo for $405,000 in 2006. His principal residence is a 3,012-square-foot house in Los Angeles Woodland Hills neighborhood that he bought in 2001 for $482,000.

Historically, Rodriguez has used the five-room Gold Coast condo as a summer residence. Features include two baths, granite countertops, marble floors, cherry cabinets and one garage space

"Hes busy in California," said listing agent Patricia Anderson of Weichert. "He loves Chicago and he wants to keep this place because he plans to come back someday."

Rodriguez completely refurbished the unit last month, "so its ready to go," Anderson said.

"Its really nice, with fresh marble and wood floors, new countertops, and its in walking distance to everything, she said. "At the same time, its on a quiet, tree-lined street, so you get the best of both worlds."
