Witty directs Susquehanna

James D. Witty

Susquehanna Bank has named James D. Witty as regional president for the Baltimore area and eastern Maryland. Witty will lead Susquehannas commercial and retail banking teams in Baltimore city and Baltimore, Carroll, Howard, Anne Arundel, Harford and Worcester counties. The bank operates 23 branches in the region. Witty worked most recently as senior vice president/commercial banking unit manager in Baltimore for PNC Bank. Before the PNC merger in 2007, Witty oversaw Mercantile-Safe Deposit & Trust Co.s Asset Based Lending Department. He has more than 24 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry. Witty has been active as a community volunteer throughout his career, and he serves on the board of trustees of The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore and as a trustee, treasurer and member of the executive committee of The Irvine Nature Center.

Resides in: Reisterstown.

How do you see Susquehanna growing in this market? I believe all banking is local. Our approach is to keep decision-making based in the local market, while giving customers the benefit of the greater lending capacity and diverse financial expertise of a regional bank.
