Hunter Douglas 150F Exterior Ceiling System has received Miami-Dade Countys Notice of Acceptance (NOA), Miami-Dade County, Florida, NOA No. 14-1222.04 (expires March 19, 2020). The first of its kind for an exterior metal ceiling product, the certification confirms the product was designed and tested in accordance with the requirements of the Florida Building Code 5th edition (2014), including High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) provisions and Miami-Dade requirements.

The Miami-Dade Building Code is one of the most rigid in the nation, said David Bailey, Director of Engineering and Materials for Hunter Douglas Ceilings. The product was engineered to handle severe weather and this certification not only affirms its stability, but also Hunter Douglas commitment to quality and safety using premier test labs with many years of experience.

Featuring easy to install panels ranging from 3 to 20, the 150F ceiling system is suitable for both interior and outdoor applications. Containing up to 95 percent recycled content, the 150F Exterior Ceiling System was designed to withstand positive and negative wind loads. The panels feature the patented Luxacote high-performance paint system to resist extreme weathering and UV exposure. Panels may also be manufactured to specified length, saving time and waste at the jobsite.

All testing of the 150F Exterior Ceiling System was conducted by Intertek-Architectural Testing, Inc., which is recognized worldwide and is a premier test lab in the United States for Miami-Dade testing and engineering. The system was tested for product integrity in a number of conditions, including the stringent Wind Driven Rain Test. In order for Hunter Douglas to receive certification, the DCA audited the test results, engineering analyses and installation procedures.
