With EJ Montgomery officially staying in the draft, eight members of the 2019-20 Kentucky team are gone. Keion Brooks and Dontaie Allen are the only returning players on scholarship, and although John Calipari added one grad transfer to the roster already in Davion Mintz and has another No. 1 recruiting class coming in, this could be his biggest rebuilding job of all.
As first noted by Chris Fisher, the production Kentucky is losing is staggering:
Next years squad will be tasked with replacing the highest percentage of points and assists in the Calipari Era; the second highest percentage of minutes and blocks; and the third highest percentage of rebounds and steals. The only other squads that can compare are the 2012-13 team that had to follow the National Champions and the 2017-18 team that followed DeAaron Fox, Bam Adebayo, and Malik Monks run to the Elite Eight. Despite having the No. 1 or No. 2 recruiting classes coming in, the 2013 team went to the NIT (in large part due to Nerlens Noels injury) and the 2018 group lost in the Sweet 16.
Heres a look at the numbers and departures from each season of the Calipari Era:
2009-10 Departures:
John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Eric Bledsoe, Patrick Patterson, Daniel Orton, Perry Stevenson, Darnell Dodson, Ramon Harris, Mark Krebs
2010-11 Departures:
Brandon Knight, DeAndre Liggins, Josh Harrellson
2011-12 Departures:
Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Doron Lamb, Terrence Jones, Marquis Teague, Darius Miller, Eloy Vargas
2012-13 Departures:
Nerlens Noel, Archie Goodwin, Kyle Wiltjer, Julius Mays, Twany Beckham, Ryan Harrow
2013-14 Departures:
Julius Randle, James Young, Jarrod Polson, Jon Hood
2014-15 Departures:
Devin Booker, Aaron Harrison, Andrew Harrison, Karl-Anthony Towns, Willie Cauley-Stein, Dakari Johnson, Trey Lyles, Sam Malone, Tod Lanter, Brian Long
2015-16 Departures:
Jamal Murray, Skal Labissiere, Tyler Ulis, Alex Poythress, Marcus Lee, Charles Matthews, EJ Floreal
2016-17 Departures:
DeAaron Fox, Malik Monk, Bam Adebayo, Isaiah Briscoe, Isaac Humphries, Derek Willis, Dominique Hawkins, Mychal Mulder
2017-18 Departures:
Kevin Knox, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Hamidou Diallo, Jarred Vanderbilt, Wenyen Gabriel, Sacha Killeya-Jones, Tai Wynyard, Dillon Pulliam
2018-19 Departures:
PJ Washington, Tyler Herro, Keldon Johnson, Reid Travis, Quade Green (mid-year), Jemarl Baker, Brad Calipari, Jonny David
2019-20 Departures:
Tyrese Maxey, Ashton Hagans, Immanuel Quickley, Nick Richards, EJ Montgomery, Kahlil Whitney (mid-year), Johnny Juzang, Nate Sestina
Lets watch some highlights of next years recruiting class to try to feel better.

Real Madrid are likely to spend big in the summer to overhaul their squad in Zinedine Zidanes second spell as manager.
Zizou was brought back in March 2019 following some poor results by his replacement and there looks to be some changes ahead in the near future.

Madrid are just two points off Barcelona in LaLiga and still had the second leg of their last-16 Champions League tie with Man City to play when coronavirus halted football across the continent.
Despite splashing out on the likes of Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic last summer, Zidane is thought to be unhappy with his options and marquee signings could be made over the next two or three transfer windows.
Here is who theyve been linked with.
Reports in Spain have linked the Chelsea midfielder with a move to Real Madrid in the summer after remarkably being made surplus to requirements by Frank Lampard.
The English boss does have a wealth of midfield options to choose from including Jorginho, Matteo Kovacic, Ross Barkley, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Billy Gilmour and Mason Mount.
Kante is still one of the best defensive midfielders in the world and helped fire France to World Cup glory in 2018.

He was snapped up by Chelsea in 2016 for just 29million after winning the Premier League title with Leicester.
The Blues went on to win the league in his first season but he struggled with a more advanced role under Maurizio Sarri last season.
This campaign has been blighted by niggling injury problems that has limited him to just 18 Premier League games.
The 29-year-old could slot nicely into Zinedine Zidanes side in a midfield alongside Casemiro and Toni Kroos.
Luka Modric is 34 and Madrid will be looking towards the future as Zidane looks to rebuild his side.
The teenage sensation has been linked with a move to Real Madrid despite only having signed for Borussia Dortmund in January.
The striker has smashed in 12 goals in just 11 games for the German side following his move from Red Bull Salzburg, where he started the season with 28 goals in 22 games.
Bild has refuted the reports suggesting that he could be moving to Madrid in the immediate future.
He reportedly has a buyout clause of around 65m, which is an absolute bargain for someone of his talent and potential.
Haaland is unlikely to want to move again in the next transfer window but looking ahead to 2021 he could be on the move again.

Madrid long been admirers of Mbappe and was reportedly very close to joining the LaLiga giants before the coronavirus pandemic wreaked havoc across the globe.
Former PSG player Jerome Rothen claims Mbappe will leave the Ligue 1 club in the summer.
I know from sources that Mbappe almost signed forReal Madrid, he told Radio Monte Carlo.
With what is happening now, it is certain that Mbappes arrival at Real will be postponed.
In no case will there be an extension of Mbappes contract with PSG.
They will have an agreement between them in place because PSG agreed to let him go this summer. In my opinion, its just a question of time.
So a deal to take him to Madrid could still go ahead in the summer.

The Sun report that Real Madrid are still pursuing a move for Sadio Mane in the summer with Zidane pushing for a move for the Liverpool star.
Zidane is thought to be a huge fan of Mane but it could take a bid of around 150m to lure him away from Anfield.
The report also claims that if Mane were to head to Spain they would try and replace him with Mbappe.
So it could be a choice to make for Madrid, Mane or Mbappe in the summer.

4-3-3
Zidane would have the tough task of trying to fit Haaland, Eden Hazard and one of Mbappe or Mane into a front three. It means one would likely have to play out of position but they would still form a deadly trio.
Kante would slot easily into a midfield three alongside Toni Kroos and Casemiro.
Buildlineup.com
4-2-3-1
This formation would allow Mane or Mbappe to play on the left with Eden Hazard in the central role behind Haaland.
Rodrygo has been featuring plenty in his first season and could continue his development in this attacking quartet.
Kante would play alongside Casemiro in a very wily and disruptive midfield duo.
Buildmylineup.com
4-4-2
A classic formation that could allow Mbappe, or Mane, to play alongside Haaland as the two central strikers.
The young Norwegian, could form a big man/little man style relationship with his partner but its worth noting Haaland does not lack pace despite his size and this is what makes him so dangerous.
Hazard and Rodrygo would be the left and right wingers respectively with Kante and Casemiro the two central midfielders.

The Lake Mills Area School District Board of Education met for its first virtual meeting Monday and authorized the administration to request the Department of Public Instruction waive the minimum number of instruction hours set in state statutes for this school year due to COVID-19 related school closure.
This gives the administration the authority to fill out any paperwork for DPIs minimum hours of instruction, said Pam Streich, district administrator.
The Lake Mills Area School District is in its third week of virtual learning. Teachers are providing videos for their students and using the districts curriculum. The schools have also been doing daily attendance as a way to keep track of students. For students with individualized education plans staff have been working hard to connect with those families, said Amanda Thompson, director of curriculum and instruction.
Im really impressed with the food service staff and the work theyve been able to do, said Wendy Brockert, business manager.
Brockert discussed a grant the district has applied for to help with costs associated with the food program that is currently going on due to COVID-19.
On April 8, food service staff gave out 3,600 meals, Streich said.
I want to thank Real Hope Community Church for taking charge and feeding families while we were on Spring Break, she said.
Streich discussed a survey that is going out to parents during the virtual learning process saying the district is analyzing that information.
Everyone has really stepped up for the kids, she said of all members of the school district staff including food service, bus drivers, teachers, all staff.
In other business the board:
Approved Dean Health Insurance for the 2020-21 school year with a 0% increase.
Approved Delta Dental for the 2020-21 school year.
Approved hiring Brenda Morris as the LMC director and English teacher at Lake Mills High School.
We were really excited she could accept this position and still teach AP English, Streich said.
Approved hiring Haley Stephens as a math teacher at Lake Mills Middle School.
Accepted the reconsideration of retirement date for Glen Schuenke.
Accepted the land use agreement with Roger and Beth Wiedenfeld for the FFA test plot on County Road B.
They dont charge us anything for the land and its been a great experience for these students, Brockert said.
Approved the 4K agreement with the Lake Mills United Methodist Church for next school year at a 2% increase.
Approved the school nurse agreement with Fort HealthCare.
Accepted a window replacement bid from Baker Glass in Fort Atkinson for $11,200 to replace windows at the high school.
Approved a ventilation bid for the Lake Mills High School Varsity Boys Locker room from 1901 Inc. in Madison for $77,992.
The board accepted of 12,600 in gifts, many related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
They came in quickly and unsolicited, Streich said of the pandemic related gifts.
The board will meet Monday, April 27 for its reorganizational meeting. The next regular board of education meeting will be May 11.

Windows down, door open? That needs a fix.
Some recalls are fairly standard, and some of them are a little quirkier. The latest Chevrolet Bolt EV recall sits in the latter category.
According to documents Chevy's parent automaker General Motors filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration late last month, rolling down the rear window could lead to the rear door also opening. That's certainly not good, though it only affects 897 vehicles from the 2019-2020 model years.
The problem rests in a door handle cable that may be too long, GM says in the recall notice. If the windows come in contact with the abnormally long cable, the window rolling downward could damage the cable and eventually let the corresponding rear door swing open. The rear door handle may also stop working from the inside. In both cases, NHTSA says there's an increased risk of injury to passengers in the rear seat of the Bolt EV.
GM already has a remedy for the problem and plans to start notifying owners on May 11. Those with a Bolt EV that includes the faulty door handle cable will need to take their car to a local dealer where a service technician will replace the cable free of charge.

Apple's newest iPad Pro is here. Complete with an LiDAR scanner and full trackpad support, it appears to be even more of a PC replacement than previous models. Even if you arent looking to replace your trusty laptop, the iPad is an incredible device. In fact, its the only tablet Id recommend buying after years of covering consumer technology and Im not exactly what youd call an Apple fanatic. I use Windows on my main computer and a Chromebook for portable work. Ive also been a diehard Android phone user since the original Motorola Droid was released. In other words, this advice is not coming from a place of brand loyalty its coming from years of using the iPad alongside other tablets on the market.
While price has historically been a barrier to Apples products, the current iPad lineup ranges from affordable to fairly expensive (and powerful). No matter which one you buy, it can probably handle most actions, including:
You may see the more demanding actions perform better on the higher-cost iPad models, but for the most part any model should work well for general use.
The lowest-cost iPad which is just named the iPad is the seventh generation of Apples venerable tablet. It boasts a super-sharp 10.2-inch display, up to 128GB of storage and Apples A10 Fusion central processing unit (CPU). This is a slower CPU than more expensive models but you likely won't notice the difference. Im still using an older iPad with a comparable CPU and it runs like butter even when playing games. At $329, you couldnt ask for a better bang for your buck.
Let our news meet your inbox. The news and stories that matters, delivered weekday mornings.
When I bought my current iPad the 2016 9.7-inch iPad Pro I planned on using it for comic books, games and computer magazines (yes, Im a huge nerd). A big screen was a must for me, but if youre just looking to read ebooks, browse Facebook and take your tablet anywhere, the smaller 7.9-inch iPad Mini could be an alternative.
The iPad Air, as its name implies, is slightly thinner than the regular iPad. But the real improvement comes in a faster A12 Bionic CPU, more available storage (up to 256GB) and extra features like a wide-color, anti-reflective, True Tone display for a more natural-looking image.
At 12.9 inches, the iPad Pro is closer to the size of a laptop and has a higher price tag (though there is a smaller and more affordable 11-inch model). This is the iPad for people looking to replace their computer and thanks to the most powerful processor in an iPad the A12Z Bionic and up to 1TB of storage, it will work well for all your digital creations.
Android and Windows tablets can do similar things to an iPad, but the feel of using the device is why I chose an iPad. Android has struggled to get its tablet interface feeling as smooth and usable and many Android apps from big names like Spotify to various magazines and lots of smaller third-party tools are similar to phone apps blown up to fit the size of a tablet. Plus, a lot of apps come out on iOS before reaching other platforms, which can be frustrating if you have to wait for a new game to launch for your Android product.
I also prefer the iPad over Microsofts tablet. The app interface isn't comparable and I end up spending most of my time in a browser, which just seems silly for the price.
When it comes to longevity, I find that iPads last a relatively long time. Now, Android tablets might not get future updates since Google stopped manufacturing their own Android tablets. In addition to the actual product, I find that there are far more iPad-focused accessories like fold-out keyboard cases, than there are for any given Android tablet. Android and Windows tablets do have their advantages, of course.

LAUTARO MARTINEZ'S agent has confirmed there is a "good chance" of him moving to Barcelona this summer despite interest from Manchester City.
The Inter Milan ace has banged in 16 goals this term and is one of the hottest transfer targets in Europe.

Barcelona seem to have overtaken Manchester City in the four-way battle with Real Madrid and Chelsea to secure Martinez's signature this summer.
The 22-year-old arrived at San Siro from Argentine outfit Racing Club in 2018 and has three years left on his contract, which includes a 97.5million buy-out clause.
Quique Setien's side were linked with the Inter golden boy in the January transfer window - but the club stopped short of triggering his release clause.
The Catalan giants are eyeing an eventual replacement for Luis Suarez - who is recovering from the knee operation he had in January.
And a mega-money signing of Neymar is becoming less likely after football across Europe was halted by coronavirus.
Sergio Zarate, one of Lautaro Martinezs representatives believes a move to Barca could well be on the cards.
He told SPORT: "Theres a very big possibility.
"Hes a great player. A tremendous player, this kid doesnt have a ceiling.
"Its the player who decides. Lionel Messi is there, I think he has a bit more chance of wanting to move beside the best (player) of all.
Inter can want whatever they want, but the market rules. As always, when European giants want a player, they go with everything. Now what is important is not the shirt.
Inters hopes of getting him to agree a new deal were hit by thecoronavirus pandemic but the club's vice-president Javier Zanetti remains confident of keeping his star player in Serie A.
He toldESPN: "At Inter I see him happy, he identifies with the club.
"We believed in him. I see his future at Inter."
City boss Pep Guardiola sees Martinez as the long-term replacement for Sergio Aguero and former Argentina striker Hernan Crespo hailed Martinez as the predators successor.

More than 26 million is to be spent on improving school buildings across Staffordshire.
The work is outlined in Staffordshire County Councils schools capital programme for 2020/21, which includes a range of priority projects.
Pupils are set to benefit from upgraded playgrounds, new toilets and energy efficient heating and lighting systems.
Leaky roofs, pipes and windows will also be replaced. And other measures are expected to include refurbishing or remodelling some classrooms.
There will also be a focus on increasing capacity in mainstream schools to support pupils with special educational needs.
The councils cabinet will be asked to approve the rolling programme when it holds its first virtual meeting on Wednesday (April 15).
Councillor Philip White, cabinet member for learning and employability, said: It is essential that pupils have access to good, local schools as it is widely accepted that the quality of a young persons surroundings can have a huge effect on their academic performance.
The investment is in addition to the millions of pounds already earmarked for brand new schools to help meet demand for extra places.
At Horton Lodge Community Special, in Rudyard, a number of schemes are being put forward, including internal refurbishment, roof repairs, replacing windows and work to the car park and driveway. There could also be more efficient heating installed.
Energy efficiency will also be a theme of the proposed improvements at Dove Bank Primary, in Kidsgrove, St Johns CE Primary, in Keele, and Endon High. They have been earmarked for new lighting.
Boiler or other heating improvements are planned for St Lukes CE Primary, in Silverdale, Fulford Primary, and Moorside High, in Werrington.
Mr White added: Energy bills are the biggest burden on a schools budget after staff wages, so we make sure new schools incorporate the latest technology.
With our existing, older buildings we have a double purpose of cutting costs wherever possible and reducing our carbon footprint as part of the county councils commitment to reducing CO2 emissions.
Schools earmarked for refurbishments or remodelling include Ravensmead Primary, in Bignall End, Betley CE Primary, Dove Bank Primary, and Walton Primary Middle School, in Stone.
Meanwhile, those set to benefit from roof repairs include Barlaston CE First School, Westlands Primary, Hassell Primary, in Newcastle, St Chads CE Primary, in Red Street, Baldwins Gate CE Primary, St Annes CE Primary, in Brown Edge, and Stones Pirehill First School.
The local authority will try to complete as many projects on the list as it can, based on funding available.
Schools are contributing to some of the work from their own capital budgets. Other sources of funding include Government grants, housing developer contributions and capital receipts.
