Fer believes QPR manager Redknapp is already looking at Sandro replacements - January 4, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

QPR midfielder Leroy Fer thinks manager Harry Redknapp will find a replacement for summer signing Sandro in January.

The Brazilian only joined from Spurs in the last transfer window, in an 8m switch, but he has been dogged by injuries, the most recent a knee ligament problem.

Redknapp has revealed there is no cash available for permanent signings and his focus will be on loans during the January transfer window.

And Fer, who scored a wonder-goal in the 1-1 draw with Swansea on New Year's Day, believes Redknapp might already be looking to replace his marquee summer arrival.

"It's up to the gaffer," Fer said. "Us players try to do as best as possible and we have some injuries.

"Sandro is out so I don't know if he is going to being in a central-midfielder and maybe a winger."

Look through the A-League transfer window - January 4, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

A LOOK THROUGH THE A-LEAGUE TRANSFER WINDOW

    PERTH GLORY

    Position: First (29 points. Games 12 Wins 9 Losses 1 Draws 2)

Outlook: Seeking a replacement for Youssouf Hersi, who will miss the rest of the season because of a hamstring tear. Odds are on an international player to fill an attacking midfield role.

    MELBOURNE VICTORY

    Position: Second (25 points. Games 12 Wins 7 Losses 1 Draws 4)

Outlook: Content with their strong squad, Victory are unlikely to be involved in the market. Coach Kevin Muscat has the league's best attack, a talent-laden midfield and a sure defence - and he also has little salary cap space to make any meaningful moves.

    WELLINGTON PHOENIX

    Position: Third (25 points. Games 13 Wins 8 Losses 4 Draws 1)

Outlook: The Phoenix have built a quality squad gaining recognition for their stylish football. With no obvious weakness, expect the Phoenix to work with what they have got as they eye a finals campaign.

MacNeill is interim district attorney - January 4, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

MALONE - After taking the oath of office Friday, former District Attorney and newly robed Family Court Judge Derek P. Champagne's first order of business was to swear in his replacement, Acting District Attorney Glenn MacNeill.

Long presumed the heir apparent to the position, MacNeill debated accepting it but ultimately decided to do so.

"When you're put in the position, the way this happened, you look at what your options are," MacNeill said. "You have to look at whatever options are out there.

From left, Acting District Attorney Glenn MacNeill is sworn in by Judge Derek Champagne while Barbara MacNeill, Sara Sheldon, Cassidy Malley and Judge Robert G. Main Jr. observe. (Enterprise photo Tom Salitsky)

"I am happy I accepted the position, and I am looking forward to hopefully doing some good things."

MacNeill said he doesn't have a specific agenda in place for the job as his recent efforts have been primarily devoted to preparing for the upcoming Angela Ball murder trial and the office's transition period. MacNeill has been working hard on the Saranac Lake case along with Assistant DA David Hayes, and he said the two will be ready to go to trial on Jan. 27.

"It takes a lot of work, and we're putting in that time to be ready," MacNeill said.

MacNeill is still debating if he will run for DA this fall. His term as acting DA will expire in January 2016, and he will have to win an election to continue to serve in the position.

"I wouldn't have taken the acting (DA) job if I wasn't serious about running," MacNeill said.

MacNeill is excited about the new position, and, after prosecuting cases for 15 years, he is ready to take on a larger role in the county.

Leigh Griffiths slams the window shut on Celtic transfer talk - December 31, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

THE transfer window will swing open again at midnight tonight - but one Celt refuses to even glance through it.

Leigh Griffiths is expected to be the target for yet another attempt by Hibs to lure him back to Easter Road.

The club attempting to clamber back into the Premier League believe the life-long Hibee is the man to fire them into the play offs - and beyond.

Hibs - who had Griffiths on loan when he first signed for Wolves - sounded out Celtic in the summer.

But they could not get anywhere near the wages the 24 year-old is on at Parkhead.

They proposed a temporary move, then came back for a second attempt in September during the emergency loan period.

But, both bids fell on stony ground, despite the fact Griffiths was struggling to get the game time under Ronny Deila he had enjoyed when Neil Lennon - who brought from Molineux in a 1million deal as the January transfer window was about to close - had provided him.

Griffiths has been ordered to get fitter and to become the 24-hour footballer Deila demands, altering his lifestyle as well as focusing on his fitness.

He has responded positively, and was rewarded with a start against Ross County at the weekend, a place he aims to keep for tomorrow's Glasgow derby against Partick Thistle.

So, while Deila has warned some fringe players will have to move out to make way for the new recruits he is attempting to bring in - Nadir Ciftci, Stuart Armstrong, Mix Diskerud and Max Power are among the names being mentioned - Griffiths is adamant he will still be here fighting for his place when the window closes on February 1.

Manchester United identify Evertons Seamus Coleman as transfer target - December 31, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Manchester United hope to sign Seamus Coleman in the January window in a deal that would be worth at least 20m to Everton. United believe it is more likely the right-back can be bought in the summer but are exploring what would represent the considerable coup of acquiring the 26-year-old immediately.

Louis van Gaal wants to sign a right-back because the United manager has little faith in Rafael da Silva, the only established player in the position.

Two weeks ago Van Gaal left the 24-year-old Brazilian out of the squad for the 3-0 win over Liverpool, saying: Rafael is not injured. Last week he was fit but I have to select [on merit].

Da Silva can be unreliable and Van Gaal believes Coleman is more robust while being impressed with his pace, an attribute that would allow the Republic of Ireland international to slot into the managers wing-back system.

4 Talking Points for Aston Villa's January Transfer Window - December 31, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

As 2014 nears its end, Aston Villa will be among the many Premier League teams looking to start afresh in the new year. The most significant way to do that will be to take advantage of the winter transfer window at the start of 2015.

In recent years, the January window has been an underwhelming affair for Villa fans. The signings of the likes of Grant Holt, Simon Dawkins and Yacouba Sylla ultimately made little impact on Villas future. Not since the record-breaking singing of Darren Bent has Villa made a major acquisition in January.

This seasons window may not see Villa spend extravagantly, but it will be highly significant as the club is faced with a number of crucial decisions to make regarding the long-term future of someof their players.

Here are the major talking points for Aston Villa's upcoming winter transfer window.

    Ben Hoskins/Getty Images

The uncertain futures of Villas captain and standout midfielder will be sure to induce plenty of anxiety around Villa Park this January. Both Ron Vlaar and Fabian Delph will be out of contract in the summer and have been incessantly rumoured to be leaving Birmingham.

Negotiations with both players have stalled, leaving Villa in a difficult spot. Both are key members of the team who are the best options at their positions, but losing them for free over the summer would be a devastating blow.

In the case of Vlaar, Villa would be wise to bite the bullet and sell the defender this January. Vlaar is undoubtedly an excellent player, but his stock will never be higher after his success with the Dutch national team at this summer's World Cup.

End-of-year Window Repair Service Alert for Businesses Issued by Express Glass - December 29, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Ft Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) December 29, 2014

New Years can get out of hand, and we are ready to help any business with a glass repair issue. Alert on End of Year Glass Repair

New Year's, of course, is a major holiday for everyone in South Florida. Given the areas mild climate, it also receives quite a few holiday travelers. Unfortunately, New Year's is also a time of window breakages, as occasionally a few overzealous revelers may end up breaking a commercial window. The most likely occurrence is at a restaurant or bar, but occasionally apartment complexes, and condominium complexes can see their fair share of breakage issues. The first part of the alert is for businesses to be aware in advance of the potential for glass repair issues during the New Year's holiday. The second part of the alert is that Express Glass has a service by which a business can call in, and assuming that the business is large enough (usually more than 10 employees), Express Glass can come out and pre-measure the business glass windows, so that if the windows are broken, they are easy to repair. This service is especially popular with apartment communities and condominium communities, as they tend to have a large inventory of windows. In either case, the alert is to help businesses pre-think in advance their glass repair needs, whether it is just for New Year's or whether it is for all of 2015. Planning in advance is a great way to make sure that a business stays up and running, and looking good, for the New Year.

Mum demands RM200 before allowing son to be saved - December 28, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Sabahans son was locked in car and windows had to be broken to save him.

KOTA KINABALU: A mother whose sleeping son was locked inside her running vehicle, refused to break the car window until she was given RM200, according to the Star Online today. Apparently, the money was to make good a replacement for the broken window.

According to a witness, the woman left her son, believed to be seven or eight years old, inside the car while she and her daughter, about five, went down to a restaurant at Bandaran Berjaya in the city at noon today.

I was eating inside the restaurant and saw her go down. After a while, I saw the woman trying to open the car door by picking the lock but she failed, said the witness, who only wanted to be known as Hiew.

A crowd gathered and advised the woman to break the window to get her son out but she refused to do so.

It was only after two men reportedly gave her RM100 each that she allowed them to break the window.

The boy, who woke up from the noise, was unhurt in the incident.

A medical officer who was off duty at the time gave the boy a brief check-up while waiting for help to arrive.
