TODAY'S twenty-somethings are a generation blighted by debt and overwhelmed by consumerism. On the plus side, at least they don't have to go down the mines.

This documentary delves into the wallets of four such young folk, starting with Ricky, a window cleaner with a seven-year-old son and another child on the way. Cleaning contracts come and go, but Ricky has his heart set on the British welterweight title, finding unwitting sparring partners in those who settle their bills late. Determined to give his kids a better life than his own childhood self, he hopes boxing will provide his payday as he trains hard for the biggest match of his life.

Elsewhere, we meet Candice, a young singer sleeping rough. On disability benefit, and counting every penny, she finds shelter when she reunites with ex-boyfriend Kiel. But could tensions in the relationship risk her new home?

Harmony, finally, is a stripper, pole dancer, and porn star. You might have seen her in Emmerdale.

The money's rolling in until Harmony's explosive temper loses her the only job that makes her feel worth something.

Lower Merion police arrested and charged a 44-year-old driver from the 100 block of South Narberth Avenue with DUI following a traffic stop near Belmont and Levering Mill Road in Bala Cynwyd Jan. 30 at 9:53 p.m.

According to police, the driver was seen making an illegal right turn on red. Police reported that the driver was displaying signs of intoxication. At police headquarters, he refused to submit to a breath test.

Apartment burglary

Lower Merion police reported that someone entered an apartment at Yorklynne Manor apartments on City Avenue in Merion that was reported Jan. 31 at 7:05 p.m. The apartment was last known to be secured at 6:45 a.m.

According to police, someone forced open a kitchen door. The burglars then went straight to the master bedroom and took jewelry.

Police said there were no other signs of burglaries in any of the other apartments.

Public drunkenness

Lower Merion police arrested and cited a 24-year-old man from Rumson, N.J. with public intoxication near Lancaster and Merion avenues in Bryn Mawr Feb. 1 at 1:09 a.m.

Police said the man was seen stumbling along the sidewalk. After being stopped, police said the man became combative with police.

Police determined that the man under the influence of alcohol. Initially the man refused to submit to a breath test. He was placed in a cell for the remainder of the morning.

For nearing a century the colourful west window has decorated Christ Church, in Eaton, and now the beautiful stained glass is part of a special restoration project.

The church communitys Be A Pane fundraising drive has raised 65,000 in just nine months to help restore the churchs windows to their former glory, and over the past couple of days the exquisite panes of the west window have been carefully removed so that they can be worked on by Great Moulton-based specialists Devlin Plummer Stained Glass Ltd.

It is the first time the glass has been taken out since the window was put in place in 1918 to celebrate the golden wedding anniversary of John Joseph Dawson Paul, of city-based manufacturer Boulton and Paul, and his wife Elizabeth.

John Brydon, who has been leading the Be A Pane Campaign, said it would be wonderful to see the west window restored as part of the project.

He said: The clear glass windows in the south aisle have already been taken out and restored, and that has made a big difference.

Now the west end window has been taken out and will hopefully be restored and back in place by Easter.

People through different generations have lavished care onto the church, so it is nice to sustain that love and care. We want to keep the windows there for future generations to enjoy.
