The Cleaning Robots market provides a detailed outlook on sales and trends forecast for 2020-2026:
As the world continues to deal with COVID-19, economies are moving into recession, under multiple adverse factors, the GDP of European and American countries in the second quarter suffered a historical contraction. At an annualized rate, the US GDP fell by 32.9% month on month, while the overall GDP of the euro zone fell by 12.1%.
Moreover, the economic prospects of Europe and the United States in the third quarter under the epidemic situation are hardly optimistic. The resumption of work and production not only brought economic data back, but also triggered a rebound in the epidemic situation. At present, the United States is still the 'epicenter' of the global epidemic. The total number of confirmed cases has exceeded 4.8 million, and the epidemic situation in some European countries has also rebounded. Affected by this, more than 20 states in the United States have announced the suspension or withdrawal of part of the economic restart plan. Britain and Italy have also decided to extend the state of emergency. The rebound of the epidemic situation has posed considerable risks to the economic prospects of Europe and the United States. In the second quarter of this year, US GDP shrank by 9.5% on a month on month basis, or 32.9% at an annual rate, the largest decline since the 1940s. Data show that the sharp decline in personal consumption is the main drag on the U.S. GDP growth in the second quarter.

Woman cleaning grave markers is oddly satisfying
Alicia Williams started cleaning old grave markers as a hobby. Hundreds of markers later, she has thousands of online fans entranced by her technique.
Humankind, USA TODAY
The bathroom can be one of the most germ-filled rooms in the house. Even when the room looks neat and orderly, germs can be lurking everywhere. Here are some strategies for giving the bathroom a good, old fashioned deep cleaning.
Start with the shower. Its best to start at the top with the showerhead. Fill a plastic bag with vinegar and place it over the showerhead, using a rubber band to hold it in place. Leaving it overnight, remove it in the morning and run the shower to rinse it. The showerhead should be as clean as a whistle. Clean the tub and tile with your bathroom cleaner of choice and wipe with a microfiber cloth. If you have a shower door(s), make a paste of baking soda and vinegar and rub the mix with a sponge on both sides of the door and inside the track. Let sit for 30 minutes to an hour and rinse. Put the shower curtain and liner in the washing machine on delicate with detergent and a small amount of bleach. Spin dry both items on low. Clean the shower curtain rings by soaking them in the sink with dish detergent and a splash of bleach. Now your shower will be fresh and clean.
Tile, countertop, walls and ceiling. A build-up of soap and even dead skin cells can be on all of these surfaces. Gross, but true. Spray all of these areas with an all-purpose cleaner. Turn on the shower and run the water until it causes steam for at least five minutes. Then shut off the shower and leave the room, closing the door behind you. Let the steam do its work for at least 20 minutes. Then wipe down all surfaces with a clean cloth. Use a microfiber mop to reach the high spots.
Dont forget the grout. Grout is porous and can be a haven for bacteria. Using a toothbrush and bleach, scrub all the grout, especially those that may be discolored. Let the bleach sit for a few minutes and rinse with hot water. For those that do not like to use bleach, hot water and vinegar will do the trick too, but leave it on for at least an hour before rinsing. Open the window to keep fresh air coming into the room, if you choose to use bleach.
Save the best for last (not really!) the toilet. Pour a full cup of baking soda into the toilet and let it sit for 10 minutes. Using a toilet brush (my favorite is one that IKEA sells for $1.99), scrub and clean all areas of the toilet and then flush. Dont forget to clean the toilet brush. Poor bleach over a sink onto the brush works best, but if youd prefer not to use bleach, vinegar and hot water can be a suitable substitute. Using a Lysol wipe, clean the seat and all of the outer parts of the toilet, including the base. Then wash down with a rag with hot water and dry.
Wash the hand towels. Its best to wash your hand towels on the sanitizing setting, if your washing machine has that setting, especially during the pandemic. Replace hand towels every few days to avoid the spread of bacteria. Clean the towel bar as well.
Having a clean bathroom helps keep bacteria at bay and you and your family healthy!

Growing out your beard for the new year doesn't mean that you have to go full scruff -- a beard trimmer can keep things even and clean up around the edges. Since I can't grow my own facial hair, I enlisted the help of my boyfriend, who's been proudly rocking a full beard since 2015, to come up with a list of the best beard trimmers for the job.
As the inventors of the first electric hair clippers, Wahl certainly knows what they're doing when it comes to grooming. This trimmer, which is adjustable to six positions between 1.5 and 13mm, comes with four interchangeable heads -- a precision detailer, a dual shaver, a stubble blade and a T-blade -- as well as six guides; three for stubble and three for precision trimming. The trimming blades are finely ground to produce finer teeth that give precise results for all trim lengths.
And with a single charge delivering three and a half hours of cutting time, this beard trimmer is the most low-maintenance of the bunch.
The Remington Vacuum Beard & Stubble Trimmer 6000 is for anyone who's ever unsuccessfully tried to clean up all of those little trimmed beard hairs around the sink, or for anyone who's been yelled at for those unsuccessful attempts.
With a high-velocity motor and fan blades, this beard trimmer has an adjustable length comb, 11 length settings from 2 to 18mm and a vacuum system that captures up to 95% of trimmed hairs as you cut. The stainless steel blades are also self-sharpening, so when you use the trimmer, it's like the first time, every time.
If you're rocking a short beard this Movember, the Brio Axis Beard and Hair Trimmer is for you. Designed for stubble and tight beards of up to 6mm, this ceramic-bladed trimmer is ideal for cutting straight lines and getting into difficult-to-navigate facial areas while eliminating the friction that causes bumps and razor burn.
It comes with three removable guards, a cleaning brush and lubricating oil for a smooth glide across your face.
If you're bearding on a budget, Gillette has you covered with their all-purpose Styler -- a trimmer, edger and shaver all in one.
The package includes three comb attachments (2mm, 4mm and 6mm) that you can use to customize your beard length and a shaving attachment that works with any Gillette 5-blade or SkinGuard razor refills, so when it comes time for a close shave again, you're ready to go. The trimmer itself is also waterproof and shower-safe.
Combining precision and portability, the Braun Beard Trimmer BT7240 is one of the most efficient, and fastest charging, beard trimmers out there -- just 1 hour of charging delivers 100 minutes of cordless trimming.
The trimmer comes with short-, medium- and long-beard trimming combs from 0.5 to 20mm and has a precision dial that lets you choose from 39 different length settings in 0.5 mm increments. It also has AutoSensing technology that reads your beard thickness 13 times per second and adjusts the power of its motor automatically to ensure an even trim without a lot of effort.
The Wahl Aqua Blade Rechargeable beard trimmer is a multi-purpose tool that you can use on a wet beard or in the shower. The grooming kit comes with 12 comb attachments that let you maintain beard lengths from 1.5 to 25mm, two precision detail attachments for sharp edging, and a nose trimming attachment for cleaning up rogue nose hairs. And everything is neatly packed into a soft travel case that you can take with you on the go.
Remington brings advanced technology into their Smart Beard Trimmer, an intuitive tool that memorizes your previous beard length settings and senses the level and thickness of your facial hair to adjust the motor and trimming speed as you trim.
The motorized comb is fully controlled by a digital touch screen and programmed with 175 different length settings that adjust in 0.1 mm increments from 0.4 mm to 18mm. And with its lithium power, it has cordless capabilities that last for 50 minutes after a full charge.

When it comes to cleaning, as long as youre doing it, youre all set, right? Wrong. Even if youre cleaning everything in your home often enough, you might not be doing it correctly. This doesnt have to do with the amount of elbow grease you use or the amount of time you spend on a task. It often boils down to whether or not youre using the right products in the right way.
There are a few problems you can encounter when you dont. At best, these common mistakes can make your job harder. At worst, they can be hazardous to your health and damage the items youre trying to scrub and scour. We asked the experts to identify which cleaning products youre probably using incorrectlyand what you should be doing instead. While youre at it, make your life even easier with theseproducts that will clean your house in less than an hour.
Sure, theyre common household cleaners, but that doesnt mean theyre not also incredibly dangerous. The biggestand most commonmistake you can make is not using them in a properly ventilated room. They produce fumes or odors that can irritate your respiratory system, cause headaches, and lead to allergies, warns Dave Cusick, chief strategy officer for House Method. Thats why its important to keep the doors and windows open when cleaning and avoid using these harsh chemicals in enclosed spaces. Plus, mixing bleach and ammonia together can have devastating consequences. The mixture can produce gases that can cause chronic respiratory problems, and it can even be fatal, he adds. Always read the directions for use in the container to avoid mishaps.
Something else you might be doing wrong? Using these chemicals on items you shouldnt. Many people think bleach can be used on everything in the bathroom. Thats not true, says James Scott, the cofounder of Dappir, a cleaning and maid service in Miami. Its corrosive to metal. This means any metal faucets, showerheads, handles, and otherwise will not play nicely with bleach. When you do clean your faucets, make sure you read the label carefully to make sure the product is suitable for metal like Kohler Faucet Cleaner, which is ammonia- and alcohol-free. On the other hand, here are 10 different ways youre not using bleachbut should.

Were all for efficiency, but using a single cleaning product for all of your cleaning needs can lead to big problems. While cleaning products may indicate all-purpose, theres no such thing, says Cusick. Some areas of the house need specific cleaning products, such as your granite countertop, appliances, and wood furniture. Using an unsuitable chemical can damage them. In other words, be sure to read the back of the bottle to see what surfaces a product is recommended for. Otherwise, you might end up ruining expensive items like your stainless steel fridge. Thats better left to products like Weiman Stainless Steel Cleaner and Polish, which conveniently comes with a microfiber cloth. Speaking of stainless steel, heres how to clean a stainless steel sink.

Hardwood floors are a big investment. The last thing you want to do is damage them. Water is harmlessin most cases, that is. When were talking about wood floors, it couldnt be further from the truth, says Scott. Too much water on wood floors causes them to warp. Although it may not be noticeable at first, prolonged usage of excess water on wood floors will lead to permanent damage. In most cases, youre better off sticking to a product formulated specifically for hardwood floors like Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner. Here are another 14 things you should never clean with water.

We all want instant results, but Scott says that isnt always possible when it comes to cleaning products. When it comes to cleaning the bathroom, almost every product should be applied and left to sit for at least five to 10 minutes, he explains. Ive seen very few bathroom products that dont require this. Not only wont they get off the gunk, but they wont disinfect your surfaces should either. In other words, its perfectly OK to take a break while your Kaboom Foam-Tastic Bathroom Cleaner with Oxiclean does all the work. You might also want to pick up a few of thesecleaning products professional house cleaners always buy.

The more cleaner you use, the better your results will be, right? Wrong. Scott says that going overboard with glass and window cleaner can actually make your job harder. Glass and mirrors can be one of the most gratifying surfaces to clean. However, it can be frustrating chasing streaks around, he notes. Sometimes its because the material being used is dirty. But usually, its due to using too much liquid cleaner. Its easy to think more spray, more clean, but for glass and mirrors, less is more. The other upside? Your basic bottle of Windex will last even longer.

Laundry is a never-ending project, but it has big rewards. After all, no one wants to walk around in dirty clothes! That said, you might end up doing just that if you use too much laundry detergent. Everyone loves the smell of fresh clothes, so its easy to go to town on detergent, explains Scott. While the intention is good, its actually counterproductive. Excessive detergent builds up in the clothes and the interior of the washer. This causes odor over time and reduces the effectiveness of wash cycles. An easy way to avoid this problem is to switch to Tide Pods, since the correct amount has already measured for you. This will also prevent you from accidentally shortening the life of your washing machine.
Shop Now
Its essential to clean your oven periodically, but Scott says its equally important to exercise care when using oven cleaner. Powerful cleaners like Easy Off work well, but you have to be careful where you use them. Oven cleaners are [among] the most acidic cleaners of any, he explains. Avoiding the heating element and oven light are imperative, as it can cause permanent damage to them. And certain parts of your oven arent the only things you need to be careful withmake sure to avoid getting any of this on your skin or you could get a painful chemical burn.

Cusick has strong feelings about vinegar: Vinegar is a good cleaning agent, especially for removing bad odors and burnt-on grime. However, be careful when using it to clean surfaces such as granite and marble. Vinegar is a strong acid and can leave permanent marks on natural stones. You should also shouldnt mix it with bleach. Before mixing vinegar with any cleaning agent, he adds, do a little research to find out if its safe for the surfaces you want to clean. If youve got natural stone, step away from the vinegar and switch to a product like Granite Gold Daily Cleaning Spray. This non-toxic formula doesnt contain phosphates or ammonia, and its safe to use on surfaces where you prepare food. Make sure you keep that vinegar within reach, thoughthese 19 vinegar cleaning hacks will save you money.

Sometimes, in our enthusiasm for cleanliness, we end up damaging the very surfaces were trying to care for by going overboard. Avoid using products one after another, thinking that youll get faster results, and stick to the recommended amount of product for cleaning, recommends Cusick. Some products may be too strong, so youll end up damaging your home instead of cleaning it. This is another case where reading the labels on those packages is very importantespecially if youre using something as powerful as Clorox Healthcare Bleach Germicidal Cleaning Spray. Here are some other bad cleaning habits you didnt know you had.

9 Cleaning Products You've Been Using the Wrong Way - Reader's Digest

CLEANING your home need not be complicated or costly.
There are any number of fancy and pricey sprays, creams and other products on the market. But Tim Keaveney, from online retailer Homethings, tells how to blitz your home with just three products, and I include tips of my own...
7
CITRIC ACID: Tim says: Citric acid from lemons will leave your kitchen surfaces and floor sparkling. It works wonders on tough stains such as grease and is also handy if you need to break down mildew in between the tiles, or any mould building up around your window sills.
My tip: You could buy a pack of three unwaxed lemons for 1 at Asda, or pick up a four-pack of Morrisons Market St Wonky Lemons for 59p.
SODIUM BICARBONATE: Tim says: Bicarbonate of soda works well to banish unwanted odours from your bathroom. Combined with its talent for removing limescale, this natural deodoriser is sure to get showers, toilets and sinks looking and smelling fresh. Its also good if youre looking to lift marks from towels and bathmats without damaging them.
My tip: Instead of paying 1.40 for a 200g tub of Dr Oetker bicarbonate of soda at Sainsburys, buy the 200g pot for 65p at Asda.
VINEGAR: Tim says: When it comes to getting mirrored surfaces and glass shiny and streak-free, your ultimate solution is as cheap as chips and completely natural. Distilled vinegar is a staple ingredient for savvy cleaners. Vinegar transforms into a grime-busting miracle when mixed with an equal part of hot tap water. This makes it the ideal basis of any spray for sprucing up your mirrors and windows. Just spray and wipe the surface with a damp cloth first, then shine by buffing with a dry cloth.
My tip: I like the Original white vinegar spray from Wilko to do my cleaning and it is just 1.50. But I have also heard great things about the Stardrops white vinegar spray, which is available from valuesuperstore.co.uk for 1.

A SIX-PACK of Brita Maxtra+ water-filter cartridges is on offer at Sainsburys for 21.33, down from 32.

Oliver Curran loves to talk. To him, watching news about politics or chatting with his mom is more fun than playing with toy trucks.
As much as he loves talking, Oliver, 12, cant read, his mother, Nancy Curran, said. Curran brought her concern to Olivers special education team at Coonley Elementary School in Chicagos North Center neighborhood, but instructors told her Oliver just needed more time, she said.
That was more than a year ago, Curran said.
Now, with Oliver attending school virtually due to the pandemic, Curran has noticed other students are already reading in her sons seventh-grade class of fellow special education students.
Why are other kids reading and not my son? said Curran, of Streeterville. Im very concerned about that, and Im not really being taken seriously.
Remote learning has opened a window for parents to peer into their students classrooms, which was difficult to do before the coronavirus pandemic. At Chicago Public Schools, some parents of children with disabilities say they are disheartened by services they believe fail to meet students needs and are upset by the low expectations some educators have for their children.
Mo Buti, who founded a Chicago advocacy organization, AiepA, for people with autism and other disabilities, said her clients observing their childrens virtual classes are realizing they arent always being challenged in school.
One of Butis clients recently noticed their sons sixth-grade CPS class still has morning circle and song time, which Buti said is more typical of activities for younger kids.
For the first time ever, parents are getting a snapshot of what school looks like for their child, Buti said. The most, kind of, sad thing is that many parents are realizing maybe the level of their child or the low expectations of their child.
Oliver Curran is in a CPS cluster program at Coonley, where students with disabilities receive instruction in a separate classroom with a modified curriculum for the majority of the school day. Coonley, which hosts some of the citys cluster programs, has a higher concentration of special education students.
Oliver is one of more than 63,000 students in CPS 18% of the student body, according to the districts 2020 report card and one of more than 7 million students across the nation who have learning accommodations through Individualized Education Programs or other defined plans, according to the National Center for Education Statistics.
An IEP is a specific legal document for students with disabilities. It states the students current education level, goals to work toward and additional supports necessary to better educate them, things like therapy and time with a social worker.
Olivers physical and learning disabilities stem from a brain surgery he had when he was 4 to stop his epileptic seizures, and hes had an IEP since preschool, his mother said. When Curran asked her sons IEP team why he hadnt learned to read by seventh grade, she said the team didnt provide any reason.
Her sons IEP even said he should be able to independently read and comprehend a paragraph or short story by this past April, which Curran said hasnt happened.
You dont get any help with CPS, Curran said. Its like you sink or swim.
CPS spokesman James Gherardi said meeting students unique needs is a top priority, though the district recognizes some support that students with disabilities need can only be provided in-person. The district will phase in optional in-person instruction starting this month, he said, and most cluster programs will be able to attend school daily. Of the 31,687 students with IEPs eligible to return to school, 11,351 opted in about 36%.
We have committed to ongoing dialogue and engagement to ensure we are meeting their needs, Gherardi said. Based on engagement data and feedback for parents, its clear that remote learning cannot work well enough for many of our diverse learners.
Gherardi did not respond to specific questions about Currans son.
Curran, however, said she wont send her son back to school in January because she doesnt want her son to be the guinea pig to test if students can safely return to school without spreading the virus.
Students with IEPs often receive related services to support them: speech therapy, psychological services and occupational therapy, among other things. But even existing services written in students IEPs arent always being delivered, said Matthew Cohen, a special education attorney in Chicago.
CPS added a Remote Learning Plan to students IEPs to explain how those services would be delivered while school remained online during the pandemic. But these remote services are insufficient, Cohen said. Having a paraprofessional online doesnt replicate the one-to-one support some students require, when aides regularly checked in with students in the physical classroom before the pandemic, he said.
A high percentage of the kids are not getting anything approaching what they need, Cohen said. Im concerned that this is going to really result in a reduction of expectations of what the school is supposed to do.
At DePriest Elementary School in Austin, John Yolich teaches a class of 15 diverse learners (which is how CPS refers to special education students). His students IEP goals typically aim for a certain learning level by the end of the school year, like being able to analyze a nonfiction story or mastering math multiplication tables.
Lysandra Cook, associate professor and coordinator for the special education program at the University of Virginia, said many students wont meet their IEP objectives this school year and will need revised or rewritten IEPs after missing out on critical learning.
Cook said the majority of schools are doing their best to meet their students needs, but for students with a more severe disability, things get complicated. The student doesnt have the same ability to meet with members of their IEP team, Cook said, a challenge in and of itself.
Its a lot for schools, Cook said. Theyre being so responsive in trying to provide supports, but its really difficult.
Beginning the school year online in largely unchartered territory, Yolich thought writing IEPs almost involved making stuff up, but its really a matter of finding a happy medium in writing proper education goals for each specific student, he said. He balances challenging students enough that theyre still engaged but not making goals so rigorous that theyre impossible to achieve, especially in a virtual classroom.
But since students are allowed to turn off their cameras and disengage, Yolich said his classs educational progress is declining.
I dont fool myself as a teacher, Yolich said. Theyre really not learning at all.
Laurie Viets knows all three of her children will be behind in school once classes resume in person, she said.
All her children have IEPs, said Viets, 48, of Irving Park. Canyon Viets-Strel, in sixth grade, and twins Raven and River Viets-Strel, in fourth grade, are autistic and have oppositional defiant disorder, characterized by disobedient behavior. River and Raven also have ADHD, she said. All three attend Agassiz Elementary School in Lake View.
Canyon is the only sixth grader in his class who needs a high level of support, so he doesnt have to share the aides with other students with disabilities, Viets said. Canyon logs into a separate Google Meet to communicate directly with his paraprofessionals. The twins dont have the same level of support written into their IEPs, she said, and more students in their fourth-grade class require the same level of support as River and Raven.
Viets hasnt fought very hard to get more academic support for her twins, she said, because she isnt sure it would help. Her children still arent really learning in online classes, she said.
Some parents with enough money have circumvented this problem by building learning pods, small groups of students that meet in person and hire a teacher to instruct them, only revealing an underlying socioeconomic inequality in special education, said Cook, the University of Virginia professor.
Students used to being in learning pods will have more stamina for being in the classroom when classes return in person, Cook said. But for students with disabilities who havent had as much stimulation, she said the disparities in the classroom are going to be bigger.
Aidan Hughes is in his second year at a transition program at Southside Occupational Academy High School. The post-secondary program offers students with disabilities a chance to learn life skills and gain job training after finishing high school.
Since the pandemic, Hughes, 19, who is autistic, hasnt received the job training and skills the transition program aims to offer, his mother, Mary Hughes, said. If classes werent virtual, her son would have gotten job experience working in a gift shop or cleaning the Thompson Center. Instead, his class simply discusses job skills virtually, said Hughes, 57, of Beverly.
Its no ones fault, Hughes said. But it is something that is going to have to be made up.
Hughes said shes especially concerned about sending her son and other students back to school in person, with such high numbers of positive cases in the city. Aidan Hughes will continue school remotely in January, she said.
Viets said theres no way shes sending her children to school in January. At the start of the year, she considered homeschooling her three children all year.
But if she were to have done so, she was told her children would have lost access to all district services including speech and occupational therapy and social work, Viets said. They would also lose their spots at Agassiz since it isnt their neighborhood school.
Instead of CPS being like, Hey, its a pandemic. We get it. Its like, Nope, if you leave, youre screwed, she said.
