Wheres the seventh tile? -

Artist Emma Anna wants you to imagine yourself inside her work literally.
Boca Raton is the U.S. debut city for a traveling sculpture by the Sydney, Australia-born artist. Her work, titled IMAG_NE, is sculpted to look like Scrabble squares with the second I missing.
The goal, she has said, is for the viewer to interact with the sculpture. And she is encouraging people to snap pictures of themselves interacting with the work and post it on social media. For the U.S. stop, the hashtag is #imagineboca.
The city, home to the edgy Boca Museum of Art, celebrated with a free concert and dedication ceremony with the artist, mayor Susan Haynie and West Boca Highs jazz band at the site in Sanborn Square (72 N. Federal Highway) on Oct. 1.
We anticipate that our residents, as well as visitors, will take great joy in having the opportunity to wordplay using their own imaginations, Haynie said in a release.
The sculpture will be at Sanborn Square through mid-November, except for when it moves to Florida Atlantic University from Nov. 11-13 for a special event with New York Times bestselling author Gabrielle Bernstein.
The work was inspired by the Albert Einstein quote, Imagination is more important than knowledge Knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, Anna has said.
It has been traveling the world since debuting as part of Sculpture by the Sea in Bondi, Australia in 2008.

A STAYER: Chapman Tripp chairman Roger Wallis stayed in Auckland when many of his legal peers left, quickly building a reputation for his expertise in company law.
Companies law expert Roger Wallis has helped most of the businesses now listing on the NZX, writes Tim Hunter.
The stony grey floor tiles in law firm Chapman Tripp's sleek Auckland lobby, described by its designer as a "mixture of brutal and delicate textures", are etched with words of inspiration.
"Vigour", says one. "Energy", says another. Nearby a tile reads "Insight".
Standing upon them most days are the proprietorial feet of the firm's chairman Roger Wallis, a specialist in corporate and securities law who has had a hand in seven of the last 10 company floats to hit the NZX.
He has also acted as legal adviser to Hanover Finance, a role with somewhat less cachet owing to the considerable losses suffered by its investors after its collapse in 2008.
That work could yet provide Wallis with a bit part giving evidence in one of next year's biggest civil cases when the Financial Markets Authority's lawsuit against Hanover's directors and promoters hits the High Court.
Wallis describes it as "a strange piece of litigation".
He's happy to discuss the merits of the case, even if his views appear to favour his client, but he also sees in it a feature of New Zealand law that has worked against investors seeking compensation for finance company losses.

A bronze tile in memory of the late broadcaster Gerry Ryan has been laid outside the RT Radio Centre.
The Ryan family were present at the unveiling on Thursday evening, October 2, and were involved in the selection and design of the memorial.
The memorial was created by artist Patrick O'Reilly, a personal friend of Gerry and the Ryan family.
At the request of the family, the unveiling of the tribute was kept private and low key.
Gerry Ryan was, and still is, very much a big part of RT Radio, and it was felt that the bronze tile is a fitting way for his colleagues to remember him each day on their way to and from work.
He joined RT as a DJ in 1979 and brought The Gerry Ryan Show to RT Radio in March 1988. The show went from strength to strength over the years and was ground-breaking Irish radio.
At 11am on Friday morning, October 3, the RT Radio staff gathered in the area outside the Radio Centre, where the tribute has been laid, to say a few words and mark the occasion.

A rogue roofer has been ordered to pay more than 1,000 after trading standards officers lifted the lid on his dishonest dealings.
Mark Andrew Prentice, from Coleshill, trades as P&P Roofing and pleaded guilty to six offences relating to cold-calling incidents in February and April of this year in the Tile Hill and Tollbar End areas of Coventry.
Nuneaton Magistrates Court heard how Prentice offered to clean gutters or carry out roofing repairs without providing written notice of customers' rights to a seven-day cooling off period.
Prosecutors said Prentice ignored repeated warnings about ensuring residents were given written notice before the start of work at their homes.
The court was told by Andrew Burton, who was prosecuting on behalf of Coventry City Council, that Prentice had been persistently warned by trading standards officers from across the Midlands over the course of the last four years about his failure to give customers information about their rights to cancel.
However, the court heard he continued to do so because he saw it as "an inconvenience".
Prentice was fined 600, ordered to pay 400 costs and a 60 victim surcharge by magistrates on September 24.
Nuneaton Magistrates' Court
One of his victims, Patricia Turner, of Tile Hill, paid 200 for roofing repair work without being told about her right to cancel.
Speaking after the hearing, she said: "After this experience I will always follow the advice given to me by trading standards and will not buy any goods or services from uninvited callers."

SILVER CITY >> Syzygy Tile and Mule Creek Adobe, two Grant County manufacturers, are participating in the nationwide Manufacturing Day on Thursday. Both manufacturers are offering tours of their facilities for anyone who wants to get a glimpse of what their processes are like.
Jennifer Sinsabaugh, operations director for Manufacturing Extension Project, said 78 manufacturers are officially listed in Grant County. She said the five top manufacturing industries in the county are concrete, paving and asphalt manufacturers; commercial printing manufacturers; research and development and engineering service manufacturers; food product and bakery manufacturers; and furniture manufacturers. The businesses list themselves through Dunn and Bradstreet, so Sinsabaugh said there may additional manufacturers in Grant County who are not officially listed with the government.

The national effort was designed to showcase modern manufacturing and generate interest in engineering, design or production careers. According to a news release provided by Manufacturing Extension Project, about 30,000 New Mexicans are employed in the manufacturing sector.
Syzygy Tile employs about 20 people in downtown Silver City. Patrick Hoskins, showroom manager for Syzygy Tile, said the downtown business is getting involved in Manufacturing Day because they want to stress that their work is about employing people, not about automation.
"We're doing it by hand with employees, not big machinery," Hoskins said.
Hoskins will lead the tours, which will get started at 10 a.m. Thursday and continue each hour until 2 p.m. The tours will take about 40 minutes and workers will be making tiles as they usually do. Visitors will get a first-hand look at what really goes on behind the scenes at Syzygy Tile.

Work of Art -

The unmemorable qualities of the 1970s often reappear in bathroom redesigns.
View this bath gallery here.
This one had a very cramped shower and toilet in one tiny box-like space, said Komal Sheth of Spaces Designed. With this outdated start, the master bathroom had a while to go to reach Sheths goal.
I wanted to transform a plain vanilla, dated bathroom into a work of art full of aha touches with seamless function and modern elegance, he explained.
The master bath previously sported the characteristic lights from the 1970s, as well as unsightly striped wallpaper. A lack of private toilet space and a plethora of brass and gold fixtures completed the outdated picture.
To create a sense of openness, the tiled areas were fitted with monochromatic shades of neutral color. The floors tan tone contrasts with the cabinetrys mahogany stained wood, which is dark enough to juxtapose the light palette without darkening the space.
I always have a Zen inspiration and influence in all the bathrooms that I design, said Sheth. I always want to give a spa-like feeling to the client.
The shower, which Sheth calls a work of art by itself, offers a contrast to the rest of the bath with linen tiles and a wall accented by a wave design. New shower fixtures and integrated lighting add vibrancy and visual interest to the canvas.
All of this is framed in a frameless shower to ensure an unobstructed visual treat for the observer, he added.
To maintain continuity with the linen tiles in the shower, the cabinets boast horizontal, subtle veining. Stainless steel hardware updates the cabinetry further and complements the new wood-and-stainless steel barn door to the bathroom. Lights placed strategically over the vanity illuminate the quartz countertop and mosaic tile backsplash.
