AMX Brings Web Conferencing to Small Rooms with New Conferencing Camera - June 22, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Las Vegas, Nevada (PRWEB) June 20, 2014

In an ongoing effort to make advanced meeting room technology more accessible to more users in any space, at InfoComm 2014, AMX, a HARMAN Professional brand, introduced its new Sereno Video Conferencing Camera, part of the AMX Enzo platform. Sereno provides essential features for small room conferencing in an attractive design and affordable price.

With no cameras on the market that capably combine the features and affordability users needed for small room web conferencing, AMX opted to design and build a conferencing camera from scratch. In addition to high definition AV capture, Sereno also includes two important features rarely found in an affordable camera: a way to ensure that everyone in the room can be seen during a web conference and the option to disable the camera and microphone to safeguard sensitive meetings. These were both features that were particularly suited to web conferencing in small rooms, however Sereno is an ideal camera for supporting web conferences in any sized meeting space.

Sereno includes an ultra-wide field of view to allow everyone sitting in just about any sized room, large or small, to be easily seen on the other end of the conference. Additionally a swivel mount was integrated to allow the camera to easily be angled towards any one area of the room. To safeguard meeting room privacy, Sereno features mechanical video and audio shutters to protect what can be seen and heard in a meeting room. Electronic AV shutters are an unreliable and unacceptable option as they do not offer meeting attendees the absolute confidence that mechanical shutters can provide to ensure that only people physically located in the room are part of the meeting.

Availability and Additional Details AMX demonstrated its new Sereno Video Conferencing Camera in Booth # C4908 at InfoComm 2014. Sereno is expected to ship worldwide in Q4 2014. For further details, we invite you to visit these online resources:

Volunteers transform young leukemia survivors room into fantasy world

After a day exploring Carlsbads Legoland, the Beckler family of Dana Point, pictured (L to R) Greg, Raelyn and Rebecca, return to find Raelyns room made into a fantasyland straight out of dreams by the nonprofit Special Spaces. Photo: Andrea Papagianis

    By Andrea Papagianis

Raelyn Beckler stretches out on a snow-white shag rug. Arms spread wide, the vibrant 5-year-old moves her limbs in synchronization. Its snow, she proclaims. Im making an angel!

An hour earlier, Raelyn was surrounded by guests. Now, she is alone in her space, exploring each nook and cranny, examining every colorful toy, story-filled book, sparkling dress and family picture, feeling the materials and soaking in the new features of the bedroom created just for her.

Theres been a lot of change in her young lifeone filled with experiences well-beyond her five years.

Raelyn was just 2 when she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a rapid-progressing cancer that attacks the bodys blood and bone marrowthe flexible tissue inside bones where red blood cells are produced. Raelyns parents took her to the doctor with a 104-degree fever that wouldnt break. When medications didnt combat what doctors believed to be a cold, and the young girl became lethargic, she went back. Several tests and office visits later, she was diagnosed. It was February 2012.

For just over two years, the young girl, nicknamed Warrior Princess by her father, battled the disease.

Her parents Greg and Rebecca Beckler by her side, Raelyn underwent monthly chemotherapy treatments at Childrens Hospital of Orange County, took daily doses of oral chemotherapy drugs, steroids and numerous other medications to fight off infections and mask side-effects of the treatment.

With high dosages of steroids running through her small body, Raelyns match with cancer took a hit when she suffered from bad reactions and developed a rare condition referred to as steroid psychosis.

Kim Kardashian's booty room - June 22, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Kim Kardashian's new home boasts a room catered just for exercising and maintaining her famous butt.

Kim Kardashian is having a 'booty room' installed in her new house.

The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star - who has 11-month-old daughter North with husband Kanye West - has filled the area with equipment dedicated to keeping her famous butt toned and has even hired a trainer just to work on her derriere.

A source told Britain's Grazia magazine: ''The room will have butt-toning gym equipment, including the ProForm Booty Firm, the Yukon Fitness Butt and Thigh Shaper, the Suzanne Somers Buttmaster and a range of butt-toning belts and resistance bands.

''There's also a dedicated cellulite-busting area with a laser machine, and a 'bum spa', which will be a pampering and treatment area for her bottom.

''She's even hired a 'butt expert' in addition to her personal trainer, who'll be responsible for her workout every day.''

It was recently revealed Kim and Kanye had spent $750,000 on a 'glam room' for the brunette beauty in their new home.

The staggeringly-priced make-up room comes equipped with a ''glam bath'' that she can access through metal doors from her master closet and will have her hair and make-up teams on standby at all times.

Doors open to freestanding emergency room in Hanover - June 18, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Posted on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 4:25 pm

Monday morning Hanover Countys $10 million stand-alone emergency room opened its doors to patients with minor and major injuries, giving them one more opportunity to get the care they need.

We saw this as an opportunity here, said Lee Van Sise, director of the Hanover Emergency Center. We recognized a need here for additional emergency resources and I think well be able to fill a void for the community.

Doors to HCAs Hanover Emergency Center opened Monday in Rutland.

The 22,000 square-foot facility, which was built in just over a year, contains 12 private patient rooms for adults and a specialized pediatrics room decorated with children in mind.

What we have found is that a room that has a different appearance is obviously a little more calming for the patient and maybe could be used for some distraction for some of the other things that the doctors and nurses need to do, Van Sise said. And operationally, for us, having the appropriate supplies and equipment in that room for a child versus an adult is beneficial.

It is the second facility of its kind in metro-Richmond from HCA Virginia and is open 24/7. The other location is in Goochland County, which Van Sise said has stayed busy since it opened roughly two years ago.

We put our arm out that way and now were putting our arm out this way, Van Sise said.

Van Sise said the location of this emergency center is on Chamberlayne Road near the Rutland neighborhood helps because of the nearby bustling development. He added that the surroundings and the development will more than likely increase the volume at the Hanover emergency room.

But Van Sise said that he and his staff plan to keep wait times low.

Belvoir contracting professionals support Arlington National Cemetery restoration - June 18, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

In preparation for the 150th Anniversary of Arlington National Cemetery, contracting professionals at the Mission and Installation Contracting Command, Fort Belvoir, Va., became heavily involved with much needed updates to the ANC Memorial Amphitheater Display Room.

Since being built in 1920, the Amphitheater's Display Room received its only update in 1975. The room houses exhibits and a collection of gifts presented throughout the years to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

"With the surge of historical interest in ANC because of the 150th, this space was identified as one that needed updating that included the context of historical exhibits," said Dr. Stephen Carney, Arlington National Cemetery historian. ANC was established June 15, 1864.

Carney felt the public, the president, and other VIPs were seeing a space in desperate need of repair and updating.

"As a national shrine we had to show we were taking appropriate care of items of historical significance, which include flags and Medals of Honor for each of our unknown entombed at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier," Carney said. "The contracts that were awarded met the requirements for sufficient updating. The space is now a safe environment for those artifacts because of the contract support from MICC-Fort Belvoir."

The display room has been used as the VIP entrance and holding area for major ceremonies and events at the Memorial Amphitheater since 1920. Presidents, heads of states, senior domestic and foreign military and civilian leaders frequent the room. In addition, a large number of the cemetery's 3.5 million-plus visitors annually walk through the space either before or after they watch a changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

"This Memorial Day, the updated display room was the first room the president of the United States, the secretary of Defense, and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff entered after laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown. How cool is that? Contracting professionals involved with the project should be extremely proud of what they accomplished," said Maj. Justin Schaeffer, a 7-year contracting veteran and leader of the ANC contract support element.

The process to update the display room for the anniversary began in September 2013 when ANC officials identified three requirements in order to improve the room. With subsequent ANC leadership approval and budgeting in October, the on-site contract support element began its work with the customer.

The activity identified its requirements early, conducted market research with local small business vendors and submitted the requirements package in a timely manner to MICC-Fort Belvoir. The requiring activity immediately identified and nominated its contracting officer representative, trained by the on-site MICC Quality Assurance Representative Kathy Manokey, who Schaffer said, was extremely responsive during the review phase of the requirements package.

During the performance of the contract, the customer's contracting officer representative was constantly on-site using all resources necessary to ensure the contractor was meeting specifications of the awarded contract.

Versare Introduces Custom-Printed Room Dividers and Privacy Screens - June 15, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) June 11, 2014

PortablePartitions.com, by Versare, has announced that several of their popular room dividers, privacy screens, and portable partitions are now custom-designable, offering customers an option to create or upload a design, logo, or image to be printed across the divider of their choice. The in-browser design lab allows single or double-sided partition printing, in addition to a variety of design options, such as color, font style, clipart, or image uploading.

The design lab feature can be found on a selection of customizable room dividers marked with an orange badge. Within a product's page, a customer may select "Create Your Own Design," and then pick a size. From there, they are taken to a design site, where options such as color, fonts, and clipart are selectable, in addition to an option to upload their own artwork. Anything from corporate logos to wallpaper patterns can be printed onto the fabric, allowing Versare room dividers to incorporate seamlessly into any office, home, classroom, retail store, hospital, warehouse, or anywhere else requiring a partition to divide space.

Many schools and daycares have utilized the design lab to create murals for classroom dividers, while offices have ordered partition panels with printed corporate logos. Matching wallpaper patterns have been popular design choices for home privacy screens. "With our new in-browser design lab, customers not only have the freedom to pick any color possible, but may also create patterns, designs, and upload logos to advertise their brand," states Versare president Robert Jantschek. "The possibilities are endless, and personalizing a room divider has never been easier."

Versare's room dividers and portable partition panels are built of tackable, sound-dampening acoustical fabric. The aluminum frames are both durable and lightweight, allowing for maximum portability. Partitions such as The Room Divider 360 have been popular choices for school partitions, while The Privacy Screen and Afford-A-Wall have remained top sellers as apartment room dividers for homes. The custom design option is also available on two economical, fabric privacy screens: the VP6 and VP4, providing a range of options that covers most price points.

About Versare: Versare Solutions, Inc. is a Minneapolis-based manufacturer and retailer of portable room dividers, privacy screens, partitions, barricades, and other portable products. Versare handles the manufacturing and shipping of all products directly from their MN headquarters, with most products being built in the USA. Co-founders Robert Jantschek & Jeff Ryan initially created the company to offer a more lightweight, durable, and sturdy room divider than what had previously been found on the market. Their selection of products has grown over the years to include a wide array of portable barricades, configurable office cubicle partitions, economical fabric dividers, and outdoor wicker privacy screens.
