We provide foundation drilling for foundation caissons, retaining wall piles, shoring, swimming pools, soils testing, percolation testing, and slope stabilization in San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, Orange County, and Santa Barbara Counties. We also drill geology test holes and soils percolation test holes. Limited access drilling rigs are available. We are fully insured and our job sites are OSHA compliant. DRILLING / SHORING Providing hillside drilling for caissons, seepage pits, foundations, retaining walls, temporary shoring, and permanent shoring. Piles, or caissons are engineered to support structures such as foundations, retaining walls, pools, or to stabilize failing hillsides. Drill rigs drill through unstable soil in order to reach bedrock. Steel re-bar cages are placed in to the drilled hole and then it is filled with concrete. Typically grade beam foundations are placed over a grid of piles or a retaining wall is built bearing on a grade beam that is tied to the drilled piles. Our equipment is capable of drilling diameters between 18" to 60" to depths of 70 feet. For jobs with limited access we need only 54" clearance, 10 #39; access height and 13.5 #39; operating height overhead clearance. No matter how large or small your next project is, we #39;re sure you #39;ll benefit from having us on your team. SARANAC LAKE - Village Mayor Clyde Rabideau said he's been getting a lot of questions from people about what the large crane and crew of contractors are doing next to a Broadway bar.
For the past week, a crew from Luck Brothers, a Plattsburgh construction firm, has been using the crane to help reinforce a section of the retaining wall that runs below Alpine Terrace, behind the Rusty Nail, near the intersection of Bloomingdale Avenue and Broadway.
"The village owns most of the hillside abutting the Upper Broadway section near the Nail and that hillside is starting to slide towards the street, thanks to years of rain and gravity, which will endanger people and property," Rabideau said in a Sunday news release. "With federal grant monies from FEMA (the Federal Emergency Management Agency), a contractor is drilling large diameter holes along the bank approximately 30-to-35-feet deep. They will then insert heavy angle iron into the holes and encase the pieces in concrete. These iron-concrete structures will then, according to engineers, retain the hillside and help stabilize it."

A Luck Brothers representative on the site told the Enterprise this morning that the wall will be reinforced in 14 different locations. He said he expects the work will take about another month to complete.
The project is one of several happening in the village that are associated with damage from the spring 2011 floods. Crews have also repaired a retaining wall on Pelkey Lane and are restoring Hydro Point behind the Lake Flower dam, which was undermined by the flooding of the Saranac River.
In July, Luck Brothers was the low bidder and won a $1.18 million contract for repair work associated with the spring 2011 floods. The company was one of four that submitted bids, ranging from $1.18 million to $2.6 million.
The village is paying for the work up front and will be reimbursed by FEMA later. The village's share will be 12.5 percent, or roughly $148,000.
Rabideau said the Alpine Terrace job is "one of those projects you get asked about by every three people in the Grand Union.
"I thought I'd get this news release out there so everyone would know, and then I can finish my shopping more quickly and get home in time to watch the football game," the mayor said.

IN GOMBAK, over 150 people are refusing to enter their homes after a large portion of a retaining wall barely a metre away from their five-storey police living quarters collapsed.
Residents choose to stay in a hall near the police quarters despite Public Works Department (PWD) officers and its director assured that the building was structurally sound after an inspection on Sunday.
Gombak deputy police chief Supt Rosly Hassan said the 150 people who occupy 32 units in Block F1 were fearful that the daily heavy rainfall could trigger another incident.
Some families had gone in to collect their personal belongings and valuables.
We will expedite the repair on the retaining wall so that residents can feel secure entering their homes again, he said.
It is learnt the 13 blocks housing 612 units are for police officers in the nearby area.
Several large pieces of tarpaulin have been placed over the site of the collapsed wall by PWD personnel to ensure rain water would not seep into the soil and risk more landslips.
The incident occurred on Saturday at about 7pm after heavy downpour in the afternoon.
The retaining wall collapsed into three cars parked nearby. No injuries were reported.
Supt Rosly said Bukit Aman would oversee the repairs on the collapsed wall expected to be carried out this week.
