Meier's Pool Cleaning
Our complete pool cleaning service covers all your pool cleaning needs. Home owners just need to add water as needed. Here are the steps we take for our complete pool service (weekly):
Meier's Pressure Washing
We offer many pressure cleaning services for your home. We clean patios, driveways, sidewalks, screen enclosures, roofs, and more. Here are a few of the surfaces we specialize in:
We begin by pressure washing your concrete garage floor with a high-power pressure washing unit (3500 - 4000 PSI) to remove surface contamination. We then apply a powerful industrial degreaser that cuts through the dirt, grease, oil, and salt that your garage floor has accumulated. The floor is then power scrubbed and pressure washed again (usually with hot water) to ensure a clean surface.
After removing limbs and roof debris which may hinder our roof cleaning process, we apply powerful detergents which contains EPA Approved Fungicides/Algaecides and soaking solution to loosen the dirt. We then wash your roof with low water pressure (usually under 1000 PSI) to remove the dirt.
We begin by applying a powerful detergent which contains EPA Approved Fungicides/Algaecides and soaking solution to loosen the dirt. In certain situations, a stripper is used to remove old stain or paint. We then wash your wood with low water pressure (usually under 1000 PSI) to remove the dirt and follow that with a wood brightener. An optional stain or wood preservative may be applied.
We initially apply an industry exclusive (not store bought) application of detergent. Then pressure wash with a high-power pressure washing unit (3500 - 4000 PSI) to remove surface contamination. In some cases, an acid is applied and then neutralized to help in the removal of stubborn stains. All necessary safety precautions are always followed when utilizing chemicals.

Samsung Senior Vice President Kevin Dexter unveils the new Samsung 9000 series washer and dryer at the Consumer Electronics Show on Jan. 6, 2014, in Las Vegas.
Ever left your crockpot on after leaving the house and wished you could turn it off with your mobile phone? Do you want a phone-activated lock for your front door in case you lose your keys? The Consumer Electronics Show this week in Las Vegas premiered devices like these showing the potential for WiFi-connected housewares, but also the growing privacy concerns of the Internet of things ecosystem.
Cisco Systems predicts there will be 50 billion devices connected to the Internet by 2020.
Samsung unveiled its Smart Phone mobile application, which will turn a phone into a remote to change settings on Samsung TVs, washing machines, computers and air conditioners.

Belkin unveiled a new line of devices using its WeMo system that connects devices to a mobile application. The Belkin WeMo lighting system allows users to dim the lights from anywhere, and the WeMo crockpot connects with an application to send reminders, allow users to adjust cooking time, temperature or check the status of a meal.
Apple is also working with manufacturers to connect more devices to iOS applications through its MFi program. The Tianzun air conditioner built by Haier is the first such appliance to be certified through that MFi program.
The Smart Lock built by Goji gives users remote control security for their home, turning the phone into a house key, showing pictures of people at the door and giving guests the power to enter the door at certain times of the day.

The increased power of WiFi connections creates opportunity but also responsibility for tech companies looking to create new smart devices, to do so with security and privacy in mind, said Federal Trade Commissioner Maureen Ohlhausen during a speech on Wednesday at CES.

Did you know you can add 5 to 10 percent to the value of your home by presenting it in a clean, well-taken-care-of state? Pressure washing the home's exterior is an easy and affordable way to improve the appearance of your home. Even homes with brick, vinyl, and stucco siding can be pressure washed if done correctly.
Power washing is an excellent way to remove algae and mold from walls and other areas around the home. If not taken care of, mold and algae can cause damage to your property over time, especially on the roof where black mold can get into the shingles.
Algae and mold can reduce the efficiency of your home because mold can diminish the sun-reflective properties of shingles, as well as cause them to break down quicker. The life of your shingles can be reduced 10 years by algae and black mold.
At Clean Machine Power Wash, we are familiar with the many problems that come with cleaning a house.
We SCRUB every house as opposed to just power washing. Scrubbing allow us to remove "black lines" on gutters, eliminate unsightly mold and mildew stains and remove debris and pollution that may build up on your home. We also power wash decks, inside gutters and roofs.

Environmental groups fear more pollution might soon end up in our waterways. They call a recent ruling by a federal judge devastating news in the fight to clean up bays, rivers, and lakes in Southwest Florida.
Wednesday, they vowed to appeal the decision which essentially gives the state the power to set nutrient standards on upstream waters.
The Conservancy of Southwest Florida and others entered into an agreement with the EPA to create standards for bodies of water in the state. The federal agency deferred to Tallahassee to set the rules. Here's the problem. They do not exist in many places until you hit closer to the coast.
The fight to safeguard what makes our area so unique starts with neighborhood like Pelican Bay in Naples. The chairman of their services division, Tom Cravens, told us they are actively reaching out to homeowners. They want to educate them on what should and should not be washing into their 63 lakes.
"We don't want to put poison in our environment," said Cravens. "We've been monitoring these lakes and became concerned about the algae building up."
Cravens said most transplants to Southwest Florida don't realize certain fertilizers hurt the environment.
"I was ignorant about it. I was conscious of the environment. I thought it was important but I had no idea what was going on," remarked Cravens.
Wednesday afternoon, we meet up with Jennifer Hecker with the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, who says, "The fight is not over."
She said they plan to appeal the recent ruling. Hecker explained if standards aren't set to deal with pollution at the source, taxpayers' suffer the most.
"It becomes impossible to assign the responsibility back to the polluters. The taxpayers then have to clean it up at the public expense," remarked Hecker.

Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative asks all customers to conserve energy during the cold snap on Jan. 7, 2014, by not using dishwashers, ovens, washing machines, and dryers. Outdoor temperatures in the single digits are putting an extra load on the power system as customers use more energy than they normally use to run their heating systems and water heaters. The weather forecast is for warmer weather tomorrow, notes Mike Curtis, NOVEC vice president, Public Relations. In the meantime, it would help if everyone would put off some household chores that require major appliances until temperatures rise and demand for electricity drops.

The weather forecast is for warmer weather tomorrow, notes Mike Curtis, NOVEC vice president, Public Relations. In the meantime, it would help if everyone would put off some household chores that require major appliances until temperatures rise and demand for electricity drops.
Curtis thanks customers who participate in NOVECs load management program: These customers are doing their part by allowing us to switch their waters heaters off and on when power demand is high. We are implementing water-heater load control today until 12:30 p.m.
NOVEC, headquartered in Manassas, is a not-for-profit corporation that supplies and distributes electricity and provides energy-related services to more than 153,000 customers in Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun, Prince William, Stafford and Clarke counties, the City of Manassas Park, and the Town of Clifton, Va. HARTFORD, Ala.--With temperatures expected to drop below 20 degrees Wednesday morning, Wiregrass Electric Cooperative is continuing its issue of a Peak Demand Alert.
Monday night saw an extreme demand for electricity from across the region during the morning and evening hours.
Peak demand is the point at which WEC members use the most electricity. Peak represents the highest demand for electricity, and its what our wholesale power supplier uses to determine the amount of electricity they must be prepared to provide us during the year, explains Brad Kimbro, director or member services for the cooperative.
When we set a high peak, Kimbro says, it causes our wholesale power prices to be higher, which is turn causes everyones electric bills to be higher for the following year.
"It is too early to tell the impact this frigid cold will have on our wholesale power rates," says Kimbro "But we know for certain that without the efforts of our residential members, as well as our businesses and industries, our peak demand would have been higher."
WEC will continue to make temporary adjustments at its substations to help contain costs as much as possible. The biggest impact, however, can come from members.
As part of the Peak Demand Alert, we are asking for our members help in holding down power costs, says Kimbro. By using electricity more efficiently during the peak hours Tuesday and Wednesday, members can help themselves by helping the Wiregrass Electric system use less power.
During the hours of 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Wednesday, members are asked to consider ways they can use less electricity:
Set your thermostat to 68 degrees (instead of the common 72 degrees or higher). Take showers the night before, if possible, to avoid extensive use of water heaters. Likewise, run your dishwasher and washing machine the night before, later in the morning or in the afternoon. Limit the use of TVs (especially large, flat-screen units), gaming consoles, computers and unnecessary lighting.
We want to make sure everyone understands that Wiregrass Electric will have the capacity to meet this regions energy needs, no matter how much electricity our homes and businesses demand, says Kimbro. But by working together on these cold mornings, we can limit the peak demand and hold down wholesale power costs for everyone.

Says rolling blackouts are proof of need for Muskrat Falls
With the province entering the fourth day of rolling blackouts, tens of thousands of Newfoundlanders without power, and the prospect of a strained electrical grid for weeks to come, Premier Kathy Dunderdale assured the people Sunday afternoon that there's no crisis, and things are under control.
Telegram photo
Premier Kathy Dunderdale says she has no regrets about anything she did in the past year; and she will run in the next election.
What's more, Dunderdale warned that due to aging infrastructure and higher demand for electricity, these sorts of outages could become more common between now and 2017, when the Muskrat Falls hydroelectic dam is built.
There's a critical period that we need to get through until we have a new source of power, new infrastructure, and more than anything else we have redundancy, she told reporters Sunday afternoon. After 2017 hopefully we'll never find yourself in this kind of circumstance again because of the redundancy that will be built into the system.
Dunderdale tied the current outages directly to the Muskrat Falls project, saying that the failure at Holyrood proves that the aging power plant has outlived its usefulness and needs to be replaced by Muskrat Falls.
We've talked incessantly, it seems to me, over the last number of years about the aging facility in Holyrood and the fact that that facility needed to be replaced, she said.
Despite insisting that there was no crisis, Dunderdale flanked by electrical utility brass and ministers begged the people of the province to do everything in their power to conserve electricity, or risk further blackouts.
Everybody has a role to play in this, Dunderdale said. You know, if you're not using a room in a house, turn off the heat, turn off the lights. You know, you might want to do your dishes by hand over the next few days.

We pressure wash roofs, remove moss from roofs, clean algae off of roofs and we offer regular service to prevent moss and algae from growing on your roof. We can pressure wash tile, shake and composition roofs. Practical Pressure owner Shawn Smith has well over twelve years of professional roofing experience in addition to pressure washing experience so you can be sure your roof will be treated gently and with the care that only experience can offer. If your roof is in need of maintenance, treatment and/or repair whether it's tile, shake or composition (asphalt), we've got it covered (or maybe we should say uncovered). We also offer and encourage moss prevention services.

Practical Pressure can also pressure wash your deck. Pressure washing a deck can be a delicate job but we exercise caution and take great care not to damage or overexpose the grain on your wood deck. Many people have been happy to know that we may also be able seal, stain or paint your deck following its cleaning. Keeping your deck washed and waterproof is important to ensure its longevity as well as the safety of others .
Pressure washing driveways is one of our favorite cleaning jobs because the positive results are often so drastic that the entire home is complemented by the clean and bright new look. Moss removal from driveways and walkways is not only aesthetically pleasing but can also protect your family and visitors from injuries related to slippery moss and algae. Add to that the fact that moss can also breakdown and deteriorate your driveway or walkways and you can't lose having your driveway pressure washed.
