The A140 has been closed for more than eight hours after a lorry overturned when it hit a telegraph pole.

The lorry driver was trapped in his vehicle for about an hour and a half because the electricity wires were draped across it.
Police were called to the incident near the Stonham junction shortly before 10.40am.
A large curtain-sided, articulated lorry carrying washing-up liquid and tuna cans was on its side in the field next to the road. It had smashed through the telegraph pole which was also lying in the field.
The driver, believed to be in his 30s, was not seriously injured and was able to walk to the ambulance when eventually freed. He is believed to have suffered a broken nose and a hand injury and was taken to West Suffolk Hospital.
A total of 376 homes were initially left without electricity after the incident. Staff from UK Power Networks removed the cables from the lorry and have restored services to 366 household so far.
Police warned that the whole road would have to close from about 3pm as they recover the lorry.

Main breaks shut down business -
January 22, 2014 by

Some residents in the area of the Perth Street-Brock Street intersection may be without drinking water until later this week following two water main breaks.
And for one popular area restaurant, the disruption is more than an inconvenience.
City workers responded to a main break at the corner of Perth and Brock Streets around 6 p.m. Monday, said Brockville environmental services director Peter Raabe.
Once they had repaired it, they noticed a second break about 10 metres away from the first, he added.
Workers were still at the scene Tuesday morning and hoped to have the pipe fixed by the end of the day.
There are a few residents and businesses affected at this point, said Raabe.
They include a handful of residents who are without water services, he added.
It could take 48 hours for those people to be able to drink their tap water again once the service is restored, because the water must be tested for toxins.
We have to have two consecutive (clean) samples, said Raabe.
They won't have to wait for non-drinking uses of the water.

Line 9: Journey along the pipeline -
January 20, 2014 by

Hamilton Spectator
It has flowed quietly beneath our feet for nearly 40 years, carrying the oil used to power our lives. But a plan to reverse and increase the flow of oil in Line 9 has thrust the 30-inch pipeline into the spotlight, sparking fears of catastrophe, and promises of prosperity.
This is the story of a pipeline and the people whose lives it passes.
It was built in 1975, of quarter-inch steel made in Hamilton, coated in a single layer of polyethylene tape, designed to be reversible, to change with the ever-fluctuating oil markets.
It was called Line 9.
In 1976, it went into operation, flowing crude oil from west to east, feeding a half-dozen hungry oil refineries in Montreal.
More than two decades later, Enbridge reversed the flow as a glut in overseas markets led to lower prices. Foreign oil has been glugging down Line 9 from Montreal to Sarnia ever since.
But North America is in the midst of another oil boom, with Alberta's oil sands and North Dakota's Bakken region alone producing nearly 2.7 million barrels per day in 2012.
There aren't enough pipelines to move it all to market. And, because North American product is selling for less than the oil that comes from overseas, Quebec refineries are eager to get their hands on the cheaper supply.
So, Enbridge wants to turn the oil tides again, reversing Line 9 to flow eastward, carrying hundreds of thousands of barrels a day across Ontario to Montreal.

No matter what you think of network neutrality for it, against it, its complicated, who cares the fact that a federal court just struck down most of the FCCs net neutrality rules is clearly cause for concern.
But not for the reasons you think. Others are saying that the FCC just lost the battle but can finally win the war if the agency formally reclassifies broadband as a heavily regulated common carrier (like traditional telephone services). Actually, the FCC lost the battle, but it just won the war over regulating the internet. It no longer needs to bother with reclassification, aprocess so difficult and drawn-out it was always a political fantasy anyway.
The FCCs broad new powers should worry everyone, whatever they think of net neutrality. Because beneath the clever rallying cries of net neutrality! lurks a wide range of potential issues. Most concerns are imaginary or simply misplaced. The real concerns would be better addressed through other approaches like focusing on abuses of market power that harm competition.
But first, we need to look at the ruling in a more nuanced way.
Berin Szoka & Geoffrey Manne
Berin Szoka is President ofTechFreedom. Geoffrey Manne is Executive Director of theInternational Center for Law & Economicsand a TechFreedom Senior Fellow. Disclosures: Their work is supported by both broadband and edge providers.
What just happened? Well, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) found in 2008 that Comcast had violated the agencys net neutrality policy statement by allegedly slowing BitTorrent traffic. The D.C. Circuit then found the FCC lacked statutory authority. The FCC responded with the 2010 Open Internet Order, which re-interpreted Section 706 of the Communications Act as a broad grant of authority. So Verizon sued. Two days ago, the court accepted that re-interpretation, which means the FCC can regulate net neutrality even though the court struck down the two key provisions of the Open Internet Order.
Indeed, the court has very nearly given the FCC and state utility commissions, to boot carte blanche to regulate the entire internet. And thats the real story here.
The only real limit is that the FCC cant overtly treat internet services like common carriers. But this limit may mean little. Indeed, the courts ruling even lets regulators assert new powers to regulate internet services well beyond broadband Still, putting that kind of broad power in the hands of government should trouble anyone worried about the abuses of the NSA or the prospect of the International Telecommunications Union taking overinternet governance.

NEWARK Federal prosecutors said a contractor has admitted conspiring to pay about $40,000 in bribes to NJ Transit employees to obtain snow removal contracts.
Edward ONeill of Toms River pleaded guilty Tuesday to a complaint charging him with conspiracy to commit bribery. He faces up to five years in prison when hes sentenced April 22.
ONeill, 53, was the president of PPW Contracting, which provided professional power washing and snow removal services for NJ Transit.
Prosecutors said that between September 2011 and March 2012, ONeill and another PPW executive agreed to give and then gave an NJ Transit employee about $20,000 in exchange for help in securing a snow removal contract for the Trenton train station. They said the employee was serving as a cooperating witness.
The two executives later agreed to give the employee another $20,000 including $8,000 that was supposed to go to an NJ Transit supervisor in exchange for their help in securing another snow removal contract.
The second executive, 55-year-old Thomas Braden of Toms River, pleaded guilty last month to bribery. He faces 10 years when hes sentenced.
