Homeowners can now bring the natural stones around their home back to life with professional restoration services. If the elements, age or regular use have left stones damaged, the team at Texas Stone Sealers can restore their beauty for a fraction of the cost of replacement. Their highly trained team offers reasonable prices, and they respond to calls quickly. Before calling in a contractor to have stones replaced, homeowners may want to consider the many benefits of the professional restoration work now available from Texas Stone Sealers.
Quite often, what the stones really need is a good scrubbing. The color of natural stones spans throughout the full structure of the stone, but it can become hidden under grime and dirt. Simply power washing the stones isnt enough, and the high pressure of water can further damage stones that are starting to crack. This is why Texas Stone Sealers uses a multi-step cleaning process with specially formulated cleaners and treatments. These treatments soak deep into the stone to loosen dirt and allow it to be lifted out. They get into the cracks and fissures to ensure that the stone is truly clean. Once the stone is clean, the natural color will start to show through again. However, Texas Stone doesnt stop with just cleaning the stones.
Just as a floor refinisher removes a layer of wood to reveal the beauty underneath, the stone restoration process removes the damaged layer of stones. Surface areas that are damaged are carefully removed to ensure that chipped areas are smoothed and stains are eliminated. Once the damage is treated, an acid wash is used to open the pores of the stone and prepare it for the next step.
Revealing the color is only the beginning. The professionals at Texas Stone follow up with a sealant thats specially designed to enhance the color of natural stones. Texas Stone Sealers' process brings out the natural beauty of most stones, including slate and marble and enhances any color to make it stand out more. Homeowners report that the stones practically look like new between the cleaning and color enhancer.
The same enhancer that brings out the color also forms a protective layer. With the pores opened after the acid treatment, the enhancer and sealer can travel deep into the stone for greater penetration and adhesion. This protects the natural stones from scratches, chips, fading and stains.
People who have natural stone patios and walkways appreciate the beauty of these surfaces, but they may have stains or damage that are marring the finish. Rather than calling contractors to rip out the stones and replace them, they can choose to invest in a restoration service from Texas Stone Sealers. The company now offers new thorough cleaning and sealing services to ensure that natural stone products continue to look great.
About Texas Stone Sealers is a professional company offering a range of services for existing natural stone services. They can seal stones for protection around saltwater pools and protect brick driveways from other stains. In addition to sealants for new surfaces, they offer restoration services for existing patios and floors. More information can be found by calling the company at 888-275-5354.

The lorry driver was trapped in his vehicle for about an hour and a half because the electricity wires were draped across it.
Police were called to the incident near the Stonham junction shortly before 10.40am yesterday.
A large curtain-sided, articulated lorry carrying washing-up liquid and tuna cans was on its side in the field next to the road. It had smashed through the telegraph pole which was also lying in the field.
The driver, believed to be in his 30s, was not seriously injured and was able to walk to the ambulance when eventually freed. He is believed to have suffered a broken nose and a hand injury and was taken to West Suffolk Hospital.
A total of 376 homes were initially left without electricity after the incident. Staff from UK Power Networks removed the cables from the lorry and have restored services to 366 household so far.
Police warned that the whole road would have to close from about 3pm as they recover the lorry.

Main breaks shut down business -
January 22, 2014 by
Mr HomeBuilder
Some residents in the area of the Perth Street-Brock Street intersection may be without drinking water until later this week following two water main breaks.
And for one popular area restaurant, the disruption is more than an inconvenience.
City workers responded to a main break at the corner of Perth and Brock Streets around 6 p.m. Monday, said Brockville environmental services director Peter Raabe.
Once they had repaired it, they noticed a second break about 10 metres away from the first, he added.
Workers were still at the scene Tuesday morning and hoped to have the pipe fixed by the end of the day.
There are a few residents and businesses affected at this point, said Raabe.
They include a handful of residents who are without water services, he added.
It could take 48 hours for those people to be able to drink their tap water again once the service is restored, because the water must be tested for toxins.
We have to have two consecutive (clean) samples, said Raabe.
They won't have to wait for non-drinking uses of the water.

Line 9: Journey along the pipeline -
January 20, 2014 by
Mr HomeBuilder
Hamilton Spectator
It has flowed quietly beneath our feet for nearly 40 years, carrying the oil used to power our lives. But a plan to reverse and increase the flow of oil in Line 9 has thrust the 30-inch pipeline into the spotlight, sparking fears of catastrophe, and promises of prosperity.
This is the story of a pipeline and the people whose lives it passes.
It was built in 1975, of quarter-inch steel made in Hamilton, coated in a single layer of polyethylene tape, designed to be reversible, to change with the ever-fluctuating oil markets.
It was called Line 9.
In 1976, it went into operation, flowing crude oil from west to east, feeding a half-dozen hungry oil refineries in Montreal.
More than two decades later, Enbridge reversed the flow as a glut in overseas markets led to lower prices. Foreign oil has been glugging down Line 9 from Montreal to Sarnia ever since.
But North America is in the midst of another oil boom, with Alberta's oil sands and North Dakota's Bakken region alone producing nearly 2.7 million barrels per day in 2012.
There aren't enough pipelines to move it all to market. And, because North American product is selling for less than the oil that comes from overseas, Quebec refineries are eager to get their hands on the cheaper supply.
So, Enbridge wants to turn the oil tides again, reversing Line 9 to flow eastward, carrying hundreds of thousands of barrels a day across Ontario to Montreal.
