GREENSBORO, N.C. Some homeowners in Greensboro have an unwanted guest sleeping over on their front porches. A community watch alert was sent out to homeowners near the Old Starmount Community about Larry Lee.
Greensboro Police believe Lee is going around the neighborhood sleeping on front porches. We just dont want him in our neighborhood and Im sure no one else wants him in their neighborhood, explains Arnold Carswell, who lives on Rolling Road.
The community watch alert said that some homeowners have woken up, gone outside and seen Lee snoozing away on their front porch.
There are a lot of people out there doing a lot of things that dont make sense to you and me, explains Jonathan Smith, who lives near the Old Starmount neighborhood.
Greensboro police records show Lee has been in trouble before for drugs, communicating threats and burglaries. Lees latest arrest was in March for breaking into a home.
I dont like the situation. We keep our doors locked when we go to bed. We just want it to be a very safe neighborhood, explains Carswell.
Greensboro police are urging homeowners to call them immediately if they see the suspect.

INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 9, 2014) A car collided with another vehicle before hitting a pair of east side Indianapolis porches Thursday morning.
According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, a man was going south on North Audubon Avenue in a red Ford Explorer when it collided with a Toyota Camry at the intersection of Audubon and Michigan. Witnesses said the Ford Explorer disregarded a stop sign.
The SUV went into the yard of a home at 354 N. Audubon and went up on the front porch, damaging some landscaping and porch items. The Explorer then went another 20 feet, crashing into a home at 364 N. Audubon and destroying a brick pillar. No one was inside either residence when it happened.
The driver, a man in his 20s, had to be extricated from the Explorer, a process that took about 10 minutes. He was taken to Eskenazi Hospital.
The driver of the Camry was not taken to the hospital.

Patty McGill and her neighbors have seen enough airborne cars jump curbs and land in their yards, taking out landscaping and front porchesand occasionally killing people.
McGill has taken that frustration to government officials, pressing them to save lives and protect her property and that of her neighbors along Forest Road (aka state Route 122) between Willard Street and West Elm. One elected official, state Rep. Pat Dillon, said she is working on legislation to address the longstanding problem.
I dont want another mother or father to get that call where someone informs them that their child was in an accident and that they were killed in an accident that could have possibly been prevented, McGill said.
Both city and state officials say they hear McGill and her neighbors and they are looking at everything from more speed enforcement and traffic reconfiguration to legislation to fix the problems.
A 1.25-mile stretch of Forest Road winding through Westville saw some 90 car crashes between 2011 and 2013, and the number-one contributing factor is people tailgating, said Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT) spokesman Kevin Nursick. The fender-benders usually happen during rush hour; 75 percent of those crashes result in some kind of property damage. A fatal crash McGill witnessed in October 2012; it wasnt the first.
Nursick said it is a common problem that is impacting lives all over the statepeople disobeying the rules of the road by speeding, tailgating and generally driving distracted.
Conn DOT is not an enforcement agency, so we dont have any tools in our arsenal to help curb speeding drivers, he said. But its a safety issue and its a personal responsibility issue. We see this type of behavior all too often and its difficult to curb it and enforcement is key to bringing motorists into compliance if they fail to do so voluntarily.
Five years ago city officials tried to tackle the problem after the a speeder killed a neighbor, Jerry Gross, and another speeder sent a cop to the hospital. Both those crashes took place at a blind dead-mans curve at West Elm and Forest.
Click here, here, here for stories about those previous efforts to find a solution. Today, as Patty McGill can tell you, the problem hasnt gotten any better.
Washington Manor, the public housing complex in downtown Charleston, has long been known for its history of violence and drug deals, a place where pizza delivery drivers and taxi cabs often refused to go. But some of that has changed since its demolition and redevelopment, and residents hope word will continue to spread about what they call the new Washington Manor.
The people that live here now should be given a chance, because this place is not like it was back during the time that the drugs and all this crazy stuff was going on. Its not like that here, said Ed Wiles, president of Washington Manors resident council.
Sgt. Scott Dempsey, the Charleston Police Departments housing liaison, attributed Washington Manors high crime rate to common stairwells, which were ideal for illegal activity and served as places to hide in the high rise buildings.
They could do their business and commit robberies and assaults without anybody seeing them, and they could leave, Dempsey said.
Cpl. Brian Jones, who now works in the traffic division, worked in housing from 1996 to 2003 and said Washington Manor was known as a place to sell drugs. Many of the people committing crimes there werent actually residents, Jones said.
We did surveys back then, got in vacant apartments and watched people come in and buy drugs and arrested people who were selling drugs, Jones said.
Wiles never thought he would live in Washington Manor.
There was times that I wouldnt even drive down the street at night time, because the first time that I drove down the street and I saw the things that was going on. I told my ma, this is a place that I wouldnt ever live, Wiles said.
Some residents say there is no place theyd rather be than Washington Manor. Sissy Wiley moved there in 1974 when she became pregnant with her son. She was going to school at Garnett Career Center at the time.
I loved it down here. I thought I was in NYC living down here at Washington Manor, Wiley said. You couldnt tell me I wasnt in the city when I got down here.

MEMPHIS, TN -
(WMC) - Cobb County police in Georgia recovered two stolen Porsches at Riverside Apartments outside of Atlanta on Tuesday.
The tag numbers and VIN on the cars confirm the vehicles were stolen from Tennessee.
Memphis police reported Wednesday that one of the Porches recovered in Georgia was stolen again from a wrecker yard.
This comes after seven luxury Porsche cars were driven off a Memphis dealership in a heist on Tuesday.
Memphis police cannot say yet if the cars recovered in Georgia are the ones stolen from Gossett Porsche on Covington Pike. They are still investigating as of Thursday evening.
Five cars were located in Memphis on Wednesday, and that resulted in four arrests.
Douglas Scott, Jettie Harris, Michael Ward, and Lauren White are charged with auto theft and conspiracy after seven cars were stolen.
Harris came from Atlanta to drive the Porsches back to Georgia's capital, according to the affidavit.
Police say he pulled up into the Crowne Plaza parking lot on Second Street to get two Porsches; officers were there towing the cars.

A five-alarm fire tore through two neighboring triple-decker homes in East Boston early yesterday, displacing 34 residents and leaving two firefighters with minor injuries, authorities said.
Firefighters responded to 1051 Saratoga St. just before 1 a.m. and found the rear porches on fire before the blaze later spread to a neighboring home, said Boston Fire Department spokesman Steve MacDonald.
Everyone inside was safely evacuated, said MacDonald. They were fleeing out of the two buildings as firefighters were arriving.
Josephine Ruggiero, a St. Andrew Road resident, said she worried the fire would spread to her home, which backs up to the two buildings on fire.
It was horrible, said Ruggiero. The flames were really bad. It was unbelievable like an orange ball of fire.
Daiki Sato, 22, who carried several black trash bags of his belongings, said he only found out about the fire when he showed up to move into a second-floor apartment at 1053 Saratoga St. yesterday. He said he hadnt met his roommate yet.
Two firefighters one with a knee injury and the other with heat exhaustion were treated and released, according to MacDonald.
The blaze began at 1051 Saratoga St. and later spread to 1053 Saratoga St.
The fire was in one building and it jumped to another building, said MacDonald. Theres probably 7 feet between each house. The houses are close together.
Damages were estimated at $1 million and the cause of the fire remains under investigation, MacDonald said.
