SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) - Most people love a room with a view, but a spectacular house on the North Shore boasts breathtaking panoramas from every window.

The massive white house was showcased throughout the film "Father of Invention".

"It has stunning, spectacular, 360 degree water views in each and every window," said Suzy McDaniel with Dorian Bennett with Sotheby's.

The home has 6,100 square feet of living space, and more than 8,000 if you include all the porches. Water is the home's most valuable asset and there are so many places to enjoy it.

"This is Lake Pontchartrain over here and Lake Catherine here," McDaniel said gesturing to the endless water surrounding the house.

"The view is all of the lake and the upstairs view is of the back marshes and canals that run behind here," she said. "It's a totally different feel from both views.

Step inside and a modern stairway greets you. Look up and you'll see a ceiling dotted with skylights bringing in more natural light to a space already bathed in it. Behind the metal stairs, there is a ground floor entertainment area built for fun and a game of pool. A bar of mosaic tile and beautiful seating areas compete with the endless views.

A guest bedroom on the ground floor is pure relaxation. Upstairs is where the homeowners spend most of their time. Floor to ceiling windows bring the outside in. A chrome mannequin named Lola sits at the keys of a baby grand player piano setting the tone of contemporary style.

In the kitchen, modern meets traditional. Granite and stained wood partner with stainless steel. A guest bedroom around the corner is stunning with access to a balcony. The bathroom has a small porthole built into a mirror so you won't miss any of the sights. You can see the 2,100 square foot guest house from that window.

BALTIMORE (WJZ)Taking it out of City Hall and onto the street. Thats what Baltimores mayor and top cop did Tuesday to sell an expanded crime crackdown.

Alex DeMetrick reports that in order for the plan to work, police will have to win over neighborhoods that dont always trusts in the cops.

The location was near the remains of a street corner memorial.

There was a young man that was murdered right there on that spot, said Baltimore City Police Commissioner Anthony Batts.

But police that swarmed it Tuesday were on a mission from City Hall that brought its own heat to the street in a neighborhood nicknamed CHM, for Cold Spring, Homestead and Lake Montebello.

CHM is one of four enforcement zones where the focus is on violent repeat offenders, parolees, probationers, those recidivists that impact a region, Batts said.

Its a strategy the mayor and her police commissioner are expanding to 17 enforcement zones.

But police admit to make the arrests that make a difference will take the communitys help, meaning tips and information.

CAMBRIDGE (CBS) In Cambridge, those circular ads delivered in red plastic bags to peoples front porches, lawns, and driveways are causing a bit of a stir.

The City Council is set to discuss the issue Monday night after residents complained the circulars are wasteful.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030s Doug Cope reports

I dont look at them at all. I just throw them in the trash, a Cambridge resident told WBZ NewsRadio 1030s Doug Cope. Others say that they have tried to opt out of getting the circulars, but the delivery continues.

City Counselor Marc McGovern agrees that the ads are problematic.

Its a waste of their money and their time, and its unwanted by the customer, said McGovern. He adds that the bags are also bad for the environment.

Monday, the City Council will consider an ordinance regarding the circulars. They will also consider an overall ban on plastic bags in the city, similar to what Brookline has already done. MORE LOCAL NEWS FROM CBS BOSTON

OKLAHOMA CITY Oklahoma City police say they are trying to track down an alleged box bandit hitting front porches.

MSgt. Gary Knight, with the Oklahoma City Police Department, said, We need folks help identifying a woman seen stealing two packages from a porch in Oklahoma City.

Authorities say the alleged thief recently targeted a home near S.W. 89th St. and Pennsylvania Ave.

The victim says she left her home to pick up her children from school.

When she came back, she discovered the packages were missing.

However, the alleged crime was caught on the homes surveillance video.

Knight said, She was very nonchalant in her approach.

Police say the alleged suspect is a white female with brown hair, standing 56 tall and weighing 155 pounds.

Knight said, She sat there in the car for a minute and then went back to the car for a while and waited. And then went back up to the porch and took both packages.

Inside was more than $2,200 worth of wholesale electric razors the family was planning to resell.
