The heck with Harvard, says New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Most high school grads should learn a trade . . . like plumbing.
Bloomberg -- he of the no-oversized sodas -- is now reportedly dispensing career advice via his weekly radio show.
The people who are going to have the biggest problem are college graduates who arent rocket scientists, if you will, not at the top of their class, Bloomberg said Friday, according to the New York Daily News.
Compare a plumber to going to Harvard College being a plumber, actually for the average person, probably would be a better deal, he reportedly said. You dont spend ... four years spending $40,000, $50,000 in tuition without earning income.

Bloomberg made the remark in response to a question on his weekly radio show appearance, according to a spokesman contacted by FoxNews.com, although a transcript of the remarks was not immediately available.
The mayor added that another benefit to learning a trade, like plumbing, is that its hard to outsource, or computerize.
Its hard to farm that out, he reportedly said, and its hard to automate that.
The mayor seemed to bookend those remarks the following day with an address to the graduating class of Ohios Kenyon College.
I know that todays job market is not easy, he reportedly told those assembled for his address speech, ...today, if I interview a recent college grad who tells me he or she spent the summer curing cancer, bringing peace to the Middle East, and writing the Great American Novel Im impressed.

Rod Stewarts son thinks his father is a plumber.
The singer, who is currently promoting his new album Time, revealed that one of his two youngest children doesnt know about his global fame.
A father of eight, the rocker became a parent again in his sixties with third wife Penny Lancaster, welcoming sons Alistair and Aiden in 2005 and 2011 respectively.
"My two-year-old son doesn't even know what I do for a living yet...he's never seen me on stage. Hes coming to his first concert in one of the British shows. He thinks Im a plumber, like my dad was, Rod told the BBC.
The Do Ya Think Im Sexy singer is currently celebrating his first original record in 20 years reaching the number one spot in the British album charts.
Having sold over 100million records in his decade-spanning career, the star has focused on covering iconic American songs and Christmas hits on his latest releases.
The 68-year-old revealed that writing his memoir Rod: The Autobiography, which was released in 2012, made him realise he should transform his colourful family history into music.
On the record, he candidly sings about personal issues, including the pain of his multiple divorces.
Rod said he is very proud to return to the top of the charts after 30 years. His last UK number one was in 1983 with the single Baby Jane.
"I was putting the book together and one inspired the other, and being surrounded by family and friends, you know, I suddenly realised what a stock of stuff I had to write about," he said.
