Horne’s Pest Control Company, Inc. Offers Protection During Termite Season - April 6, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

In the last two years, termites caused more than $10 billion in damage to single family homes. This is more than fire, floods and windstorms combined.

Martinez, GA (PRWEB) April 05, 2013

The same study explained that the termites that are common to Georgia will begin swarming and mating in March and April. Pest Control Companies, like Hornes, are finding success with combining treatment methods and different technologies to combat subterranean termites.

By installing a baiting system around the homes' exterior, pest control companies are reducing the total number of colonies in customers' yards. However, it may take up to two years for baits to become effective and oftentimes termites can and do attack homes before the baits are effective. By applying a liquid termiticide barrier directly to the homes foundation, companies are able to kill the termites in the soil immediately.

Hornes Pest Control has a comprehensive process for eliminating termites from the home. For more information about Hornes please visit their website at: http://www.hornespestcontrol.com. To make an appointment for termite control, call (888)467-6378.

About the company: Hornes Pest Control offers pest control solutions that combine the most advanced chemistry and targeted treatments in three protective layers. They take the pest control battle directly to a homes four defensive zones: exterior, attic, crawl space and interior. This pest control method stops a pest invasion at all possible entry points.

Hornes Pest Control also uses a comprehensive approach to termite control. Exterra termite baiting canisters are placed around the home to target and eliminate foraging termites. Termidor, the most effective liquid termiticide, is placed around the homes foundation to prevent and kill termites entering the structure. Premise, the most effective termite gel bait on the market, is injected into the infested timbers of a home to begin eliminating termites immediately. Hornes Pest Control also has the most comprehensive damage repair warranty in Augusta GA and Aiken SC so homeowners can rest assured that their home is protected.

Florida to Get $6M Pest Control Aid, My Cleaning Products Gives Out Complimentary Samples of Bed Bug Bully to Also … - April 3, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

The state of Florida is going to receive $6 million aid for pest control. Wanting to also help its residents fight the most notorious of pests nowadays, the bed bugs, My Cleaning Products recommended the use of Bed Bug Bully and gave out samples of it so the public could prove that it's best help to get.

Tallahassee, FL (PRWEB) April 03, 2013

My Cleaning Products said that according to the report posted on March 29, 2013, the fund was set generally for the elimination of the pests that threaten Florida's agriculture. Particularly, it was allotted for the detector dog teams, citrus research, avocado protection and a honey bee survey, it shared. Apart from that, it said that it was also reserved to fund the Traveler's Don't Pack a Pest Outreach Program, a project that aims to heed people not to bring pests and diseases to Florida.

The said money, MCP shared based on the report, is a federal funding taken from the Farm Bill. Adam Putnam, the Agriculture Commissioner, announced that in a statement on Friday, it detailed.

Below is a part of the said post Florida to Receive Pest-Control Aid Worth $6M by My Cleaning Products.

Good news - Florida will get $6 million funding for disease-control and pest-eradication. Bad news - it was not specified if any of it would be used to fight bed bugs.

According to a report, the said federal funding would be used particularly on eliminating the pests that threaten Florida's agriculture. The said amount is coming from the federal Farm Bill as said by Adam Putnam, the Agriculture Commissioner, in a statement on Friday.

According to My Cleaning Products, it's a given that pests bring in problems. Hence, they must be eliminated, it said.

Nonetheless, though bed bugs are not agricultural pests, their elimination should have been included on the targets of the $6M pest control aid that Florida will receive, MCP commented. As the number of bed bug infestations increases across the country, it added that the government should do something about it.

But whether there is help from the government or not, the company stated that the public must take steps to protect themselves and their family from the pests. One effective and safe step that they could take, it said, is to have a Bed Bug Bully prepared.

Vulcan Termite and Pest Control Invites You to a Special Event - April 3, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

Summer is almost upon us. Vulcan Termite and Pest Control invites the DIY crowd to the Building & Remodeling Expo April 5-7 as you warm-up for seasonal projects.

Birmingham, Al (PRWEB) April 02, 2013

Vulcan Termite and Pest Control comes to the rescue. The company will be on-hand at the Greater Birmingham Association of Home Builders as it presents the third annual Building & Remodeling Expo, April 5-7, 2013, at the Pelham Civic Complex.

Vulcan Termite and Pest Control, Inc. will be in booths 9 and 10 and will have a live radio remote on Saturday the 6th with Mr. Jim Butters. Butters co-hosts a Saturday morning show called "Your House Inside and Out" every Saturday from 10:00am - 12:00pm CST on 101.1 FM, The Source.

"The booths will be staffed with professionals and experts in all areas of pest control," says Vulcan manager Fred Smith. "Customers have reported that as they begin doing both internal and external demo work on the house there are lots of surprises."

Smith continues, "The worst case scenario is when giving the kitchen a facelift, a client comes across some termite tubes. Others discover rat droppings. Vulcan Termite and Pest Control's booth can help detect the warning signs of an infestation."

He warns, "Many folks don't realize what's going on between the walls. Or they see one mouse, set a trap, catch the critter and think that's the end of the game. Not quite."

"Realize this: These vermin can give birth to up-to 60 babies a year, failure to nip this problem quickly will lead to an overwhelming population of the house mouse. The mouse only lives for about a year, but their rate of replacement replenishes the colony exponentially," Smith explains.

Smith invites homeowners who are considering an indoor or outdoor project to visit booths 9 and 10 at the Greater Birmingham Association of Home Builders. It's all happening at the Pelham Civic Complex, 500 Amphitheater Rd in Pelham. Vulcan Termite and Pest Control will be there Friday: 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.; Saturday: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.; Sunday: 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Warmer Weather of Spring Means More Bugs and a Demand for Pest Control in Maine - April 1, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

Maine Bed Begs and Pest Control is ramping up for another busy season as spring cleaning turns into several finding unwanted pests in Gray, ME

Gray, ME (PRWEB) March 30, 2013

Dale Carson of Maine Bed Bugs and Pest Control can tell you that spring time is a very busy part of the year for Gray, Maine exterminators. From bed bugs to spiders and flies to hornets nests, people are going to be finding all sorts of insects, rodents, and other pests that escaped into the house or shed during the colder winter months and are now starting to become active. There are several signs homeowners can look out for to know whether they are dealing with an infestation or just a random fly or bug wandering through their homes.

One of the key things to look for is trails. If homeowners are seeing lines of insects traveling through or around the outside of the home, they are most likely near a nest. Also, individuals should keep an eye out for flying ants during the early spring months. This is often when ants are selecting a new area for their colony and those ants will typically lose those wings once they have relocated. So, if one sees ants flying around their home or gathered dead inside screens, windows, or sliding doors, there is a good chance the ants are in the home. Often ants, spiders, and other pests will make nests in basements, behind walls, in cabinets and rarely used closets. Insects and rodents want some place that is relatively undisturbed, cool, and dark. If the home are leaking pipes or water damage, those areas are prime real estate for bugs of all sorts as well.

It is important for homeowners to keep this in mind as they go forward with their spring cleaning tasks. Finding a trail, animal droppings, or other signs of pest habitation can be a sign of real trouble and should not just be assumed that the pests will leave on their own or have already left. Specialists in pest control in Maine see the damage that these bugs and rodents can do in a home. This can run anywhere from bringing in germs and bacteria that can cause health issues to chewing on wires, biting, and other concerns.

If someone thinks that they may have an insect or rodent problem, calling on professional pest control in Maine is the best response. In trying to get rid of the pests on their own, many homeowners expose themselves to danger either from a poisonous bite or from the chemicals they choose to use to deal with the critters. An exterminator can come and fully inspect the home for any potential problems and advise what the best course of action is.

Best Pest Control : Bugmobiles - April 1, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

    Originally published March 31, 2013 at 7:21 p.m., updated March 31, 2013 at 7:21 p.m.

For more than half a century, Bugmobiles, a family-owned and operated pest control business, has served the needs of Crossroads residents. They were voted the best pest control business by readers for the 2013 Best of the Best contest.

Jim Kiening, who owns the business, said the business goes farther than just the extra mile, and that's what makes it the best.

"We go the extra two miles," he said. "You call us, and we'll try our best to get you scheduled for that day."

They strive to be customer friendly, and callers will always be greeted by a human, not a recording.

"We're humble," Kiening said. "We have a new building after 58 years. That's a commitment to the community and to our people. We'll be here for a very, very long time."

He said it comes down to their work ethic.

"We work harder than most people," Kiening said. "We're up to date on all the new techniques, and we work harder. I'm not saying these other businesses aren't good, they just don't work as hard as we do."

Green Tips from EcoTech Pest Control - April 1, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

This week's Green Tips come from Tom Pray and EcoTech Pest Control, an Eliot, Maine-based company specializing in efficient, low-impact alternatives to pest control for ants, ticks, termites and more.

    1. If you have gutters, make sure you calibrate them so they drain away from your home's foundation. This will help reduce the kind of damage to decks, steps and wooden siding that ants and termites feed on.

    2. If you have wood mulch around your house, make sure it's not touching the foundation. Placing an 18-inch barrier of crushed stone around the foundation will prevent unwanted insects from making their way into the home.

    3. Trim the bushes surrounding your home so that they aren't touching the sides of the house. Otherwise, you're giving carpenter ants and other insects a ladder from which to enter the home.

    4. Don't allow the wood siding of the home to directly touch soil. Doing so allows termites easy access.

    5. Be sure to caulk openings for air conditioning and oil tank piping. Mice and other rodents can crawl into the tiniest of spaces, including small cracks or holes around piping.

Recent cold weather brought more bugs into homes, pest control services busy - March 30, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

By MONA NAIR 6 News Reporter

KNOXVILLE (WATE) If you've seen more bugs around the house the last few days, you aren't alone in East Tennessee.

The up and down temperatures have local pest control companies busy.

When the snow came down earlier this week, a lot of us took cover, indoors, in the heat.

And apparently, bugs in the area did the same thing.

Knoxville resident Jeannie Johnson was one of many not happy to find creatures crawling around her house.

"When the weather changed, we had a lot of ladybugs, stink bugs, and those insects with many little legs come in," Johnson explained.

Spencer Foster works at Russell's Pest Control. The recent weather cocktail has him super-busy. Thursday evening, he was spraying Johnson's home.

"Now is the perfect time for these insects to start making a new home," he said.

And what better home, than your home? Especially if the insects are already there for a visit. So what do you do?

National Pest Control Organization Encourages Spring Insect Prevention - March 28, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

With warmer weather on the horizon the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) is encouraging homeowners to take a proactive role in pest prevention. Tennessee pest control professionals, U.S. Pest, suggest home owners take special precautions to fight against spring termite swarms.

Nashville, Tenn. (PRWEB) March 22, 2013

Erica Brister, President of Middle Tennessee pest control company U.S. Pest, warned that wet and mild weather present the perfect breeding ground for insects. Though we saw a colder winter this year, an increase in precipitation along with warmer weather will always lead to more bugs, she said. Termites swarms are especially a nuisance around this time of the year here in Tennessee and can cause expensive damage to a home or structure.

Though it can be difficult to predict what the warmer seasons will bring, experts state it is never too soon to take steps to prevent an infestation. Along with the NPMA, the pest control specialists at U.S. Pest agree that it is better to prepare a home for the changes in insect behavior before it becomes a problem.

Once you notice an infestation, a lot of the damage is already done and it is that much harder to control, Brister added. It is best to take steps to keep bugs and pests out of the house before they begin to reproduce and make your home their own.

The National Pest Management Association (NPMA), a non-profit organization with more than 7,000 members from around the world, was established in 1933 to support the pest management industry's commitment to the protection of public health, food and property.

For more than 27 years, U.S. Pest has proudly serviced over 15,000 homes around Middle Tennessee and is rated the number one pest and termite company in Tennessee. They offer a wide range of pest control services for homes and commercial properties.
