Burbank officials ponder response to 'Topless Maids' vans - November 2, 2012 by Mr HomeBuilder

Brightly colored vans advertising topless maid services and Thai massages are getting a lot of attention in Burbank.

Oh my God, its been great, Ammari said. The phone does not stop ringing.

The company, he said, had to turn down 100 clients last weekend because the maids were booked. And people have been flocking to his office to ask for his autograph and picture as the signs gain national media attention.

Burbank officials are brainstorming a possible regulatory response to the roving advertising vehicles.

These are not attractive vehicles, said Deputy City Manager Joy Forbes, adding that the vans began popping up in Burbank over the summer. We think that coincides with the time that the Los Angeles ordinance became effective.

She was referring to a Los Angeles ordinance prohibiting the mobile billboard ads on public streets, with violators subject to seizure. Burbank officials believe that ban has pushed the vans into Burbank.

Were not sure if [the ordinance] will withstand a legal challenge, so were carefully doing that research, Forbes said.

In his lawsuit, Ammari alleges that the irrational government interference restricts him from engaging in otherwise lawful and protected speech and commercial speech activity within the city, and causes irreparable injury to his liberty and property interests.

Los Angeles denied the allegations in June.

Ads for topless maid services, massages rub California residents the wrong way - November 2, 2012 by Mr HomeBuilder

Hot pink vans advertising a topless cleaning service rile some Burbank, California residents, but the company owner sees nothing wrong with his mobile ad strategy. KNBC's Kim Baldonado reports.

    By Jason Kandel, NBCLosAngeles.com

Pink vansemblazoned with "Topless Maids" andthe phone number 818-666-HUGEare generating complaints fromBurbank, Calif., residents and businesseswho don'twant the mobile billboards parked near their homes and stores.

It doesnt project the image of the city that we think we have, said Joy Forbes, Burbanks assistant city manager, who has been fielding complaints. We have a small-town feel. These types of advertising vehicles dont reflect the image of Burbank that most people have.

Forbes said that since neighboring Los Angeles recently enacted city rules that barred mobile advertising, Burbank has seen an influx of ad vans, which park for days on end andadvertise 1-hour massages and topless maid services.

The service does not have a permit to operate within the city of Burbank, Forbes said. Burbank city officials dont know if the vans are representing a legitimate business in another city.Calls to the number advertised on the van on Thursday went to voicemail, which was full.

A DMV search of the van's license plate showed that it had once been owned by a gardening service, but was transferred to an individual in July.

NBCLosAngeles.com tracked down the vans and several other mobile advertisements to the parking lot of a Studio City massage and manicure studio, located across the street from a dance studio.

Mango Maids, Calgary’s Go-To Maid Service, Now Offers Customized Cleaning Checklists - November 2, 2012 by Mr HomeBuilder

Most maids throughout Canada often appear on the scene with a readymade checklist of cleaning tasks that theyre ready to accomplish. As nice as this is, it often leaves out vital chores that homeowners are hiring maids to do in the first place. Today, Mango Maids, one of the preeminent maid services in Calgary, is offering a customizable checklist allowing homeowners to prioritize the more important tasks.

Calgary, AB (PRWEB) October 28, 2012

Most middle-income families have a vast range of commitments on their plate, from getting their kids to hockey or soccer practice to ensuring that they are remaining productive at work. In the midst of all this activity it is often difficult to maintain a clean and tidy home. Thats where a maid service comes in handy. These services have become progressively more affordable and reliable, and are now an extremely handy and accessible amenity for anyone that needs them.

One of the routine frustrations with hiring a maid service, however, is the generic nature of their cleaning job. Many cleaning companies simply stick to a regimen that they have developed on their own and while this does produce a much cleaner home it often leaves out certain tasks that might be even more important.

There are always areas in homes that require either more attention or should be left alone entirely, and its important to have a maid service that is flexible enough to adapt to these types of demands and incorporate them into a new routine. Thats exactly what Mango Maids is allowing their clients to do with the announcement of a new customizable checklist. Now, whether a homeowner is looking to have certain items left off the list, or wants to add something new and specific, they are free to do so.

This simple but innovative take on the cleaning checklist allows clients to take control of their home cleaning experience, and ensures that they get exactly what they are looking for out of their maid service. It allows the maid service to adapt to suit the individual needs of their clients as well and should be a welcome addition to this Calgary cleaning service.

This new offer from one of the finest Calgary maid services around is in keeping with their tradition of putting their clients first. This is a company that has developed a reputation around ensuring their customers are satisfied with the service that they are receiving, and that has made them a popular choice in Calgary.

Limited Edition Pink Swiffers Benefit Cancer Survivors - October 23, 2012 by Mr HomeBuilder

Cleaning for a Reason, a grassroots, Dallas-based organization that provides free housecleaning services to women undergoing cancer treatment across North America, is kicking off Breast Cancer Awareness Month through a partnership with sponsor Procter & Gamble.

P&G's vibrant pink Limited Edition Pink Swiffer Starter Kits, available at Walmart, will help raise awareness of Cleaning for a Reason and support the organization's mission of making life just a little easier for women using their much-needed energy to fight cancer.

The support of P&G will help us spread the word about our organizations mission to deliver free house cleaning services to women fighting all forms of cancer, says Debbie Sardone, president and founder of Cleaning for a Reason. That will help us extend our reach further than ever before. More women facing cancer will learn about our services and more partners will learn how they can help.

Cleaning for a Reason brings meaning to cleaning by partnering with local cleaning companies in the United States and Canada. Over the past two years alone, the organization has expanded from 800 partner maid services to more than 1000, while donating $1.3 million in cleanings to more than 4600 women. Cleaning services that partner with Cleaning for a Reason have collectively donated more than $2.9 million in free services to more than 10,000 women with cancer since 2006.

Research shows that about one in eight U.S. women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime and that is just one form of cancer that impacts women. We have a lot of work to do, says Sardone. Our sponsors, our partners and our volunteers are clearly ready to roll up their sleeves and do the work that needs to be done from generating support to mopping floors.

Cleaning with a purpose: Frisco-based maid service opens up shop - October 23, 2012 by Mr HomeBuilder

Rob Buehler is a single father of two daughters, so he knows how difficult it can be to keep a house clean all the time.

When Buehler was looking for a maid service, however, he had a problem finding one in the area that he considered to meet basic requirements for a cleaning service.

"Finding a service that was reliable, showed up on time and was friendly was surprisingly difficult," Buehler said. "So I decided to start my own and brought some of my technological expertise to the company, since maid services are generally pretty low-tech."

"Our focus is being very interactive with out customers," Buehler said. "We want to make the process of getting your house cleaned as simple and pleasant as possible."

Additionally, Buehler set a flat pricing rate that differs from the typical quote method. Golden Services' customers pay based on the amount of rooms cleaned instead of the square footage of a house.

The company also services a large area, reaching homes in Allen, Carrollton, Fairview, Frisco, Little Elm, McKinney, Plano, Prosper and The Colony.

Perhaps the biggest aspect that sets Golden Services apart from other cleaning companies, however, is its involvement with the Frisco Humane Society.

For every cleaning, Golden Services donates a portion of its proceeds to the organization. The idea, Buehler said, came after he saw an article about how another maid service donated a portion of its proceeds to charity.

"Being a big dog-loving family, I thought the humane society would be a great place for us to help out," he said. "We actually named the company 'Golden Services' after my golden retriever -- that's how big of a dog family we are."

For the Frisco Humane Society, Buehler's agreement to donate a portion of his service's proceeds was a welcome relief.
