Springfield Area Remodelers Share Optimism at Expo - October 11, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. Construction companies and contractors are gathering in Springfield this weekend to convince people to gut kitchens and bathrooms.

The Homebuilders Association of Greater Springfield is putting on its remodeling expo. The association told KOLR10 Friday there is more interest in the show this year than in the past.

Although the construction industry has not climbed back to where it was in the past, it's adding jobs again because people are more confident they can invest in new projects.

When times get lean like they did during the recession, homeowners in the Ozarks have to trim the fat.

Scott Bracy of Steward Construction is someone customers can call when they want a kitchen or bathroom makeover. Bracy said during the recession, remodeling was popular because people were staying in their homes. However, the scope of the projects was limited.

"During the recession there were lots of small remodels where now we're seeing lots of larger projects, just more money being spent by the consumer," Bracy said.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, sales at building and garden supply stores increased by nearly 7 percent from August 2013 to August 2014.

Charylce Ruth, the president of the homebuilders association, says these kinds of signs have brought businesses back out to shows.

Back in the heyday of course we were sold out and then everything got a little tighter and unfortunately some people went out of business, Ruth said. We're seeing people come back in the industry. Theyre more excited to be at a trade show. They have those advertising dollars."

Bracy said this year in particular has been a good one, helping him put more people to work.

New Look for Antlers at Vail Hotel Includes New Logo and Responsive Website to Complement Luxe Room Remodels - October 8, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Vail, CO (PRWEB) October 07, 2014

Nine months and plenty of construction after the Antlers at Vail hotel in Vail, Colo., launched its Unit Quality Improvement plan with the goal of bringing 100 percent of its suites up to Vails highest Platinum ranking for lodging, more than half of the condominium hotels units have received the luxe upgrades. To celebrate the milestone and complement the upscale new look of its rooms the Antlers has unveiled a new logo and redesigned website just in time for busy Vail ski season bookings.

Designed by Denver-based Wigwam Creative, Antlers at Vails new logo offers a clean, modern approach while incorporating the Colorado mountain resort towns European cachet, as well as the hotels popular elk antlers theme on view in the iconic bronze statue of two clashing elk in the hotels courtyard, a favorite photo opp for guests from around the world. Stylized snow-capped mountains and a yellow sun complete the logo, while offering a hat tip to Vails renowned skiing as well as Colorados famously sunny weather.

The just-launched website emphasizes photography including the newly upgraded units as photographed by Michael Rawlings and styled by Amy Lewis and presents the old sites familiar color palette in a new way. Created by Vail-based Nichols Interactive, the new http://www.antlersvail.com is a responsive site that automatically adjusts to devices used to access it, and puts the most valuable information at the users fingertips while highlighting the fun personality of the Antlers established blog and valuable feedback from travelers on TripAdvisor.

Our logo and corporate identity was 40 years old, and as comfortable as we were with it too comfortable, probably as we began to see the amazing results of our Unit Quality Improvement plan moving us toward becoming an overall Platinum-rated property, we realized it was time for a new logo and visual brand to represent the new Antlers, says Antlers GM Rob LeVine. Both because of our name and our well-known courtyard sculpture, we felt it was important to keep the elk and antlers as part of our logo. Plus, we wanted to convey that although we look better, our values remain the same, emphasizing our the answer is yes, now what is the question approach to customer service, our family feel and our strong role as a community partner.

Unique to vacation destinations, Vail Valley Partnership manages a Lodging Quality Assurance program (LQA) that provides a standardized rating system for all units rented through the Vail Valleys central reservation systems, with Platinum representing the highest level of room appointments. Antlers at Vail interior upgrades in recent months have included granite countertops, stainless appliances, new flooring, lighting, entertainment systems, fireplaces, furnishings and much more with resulting upgrades to the Platinum LQA scores.

Were getting great feedback from our loyal guests who have been coming here for years about the changes both here at the Antlers and on our website, says LeVine, which is so important to us. And at the same time we hope our new look and website presence will make it easier for new guests to find us and see what we have to offer.

About the Antlers at Vail: The Antlers at Vail hotel offers a relaxed Vail lodging experience in a fabulous mountain setting. The hotel is a perennial recipient of the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence and recognized as a TripAdvisor GreenLeader. With condominiums ranging from studio suites up to four-bedroom penthouses, every unit at the Antlers enjoys a fully-equipped kitchen, fireplace, private balcony, daily maid service, and complimentary wi-fi and parking. The Antlers has an A+ location on the banks of Gore Creek, just steps from restaurants, galleries, shops, free Vail town shuttle and the Lionshead Gondola. And Antlers staff is always ready to help with and offer an insider expert take on dinner reservations, activities or any other guest request. Florence company handles full remodeling projects - September 29, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

FLORENCE, S.C. Since 2010, Carolina Home Design & Construction has served the Pee Dee region and beyond in the remodeling business.

Dwight Doty and Marcus Tanner are the companys business partners.

Doty does the planning, estimating and design of projects. Tanner handles the production side of projects.

The company is one of the sponsors of the Taste of Home Cooking School, which will be held Tuesday at the Southeastern Institute of Manufacturing and Technology. Carolina Home Design & Construction specializes in the remodeling of bathrooms and kitchens, but it is not against tackling any other type of remodeling project.

We do all types of remodeling, whether its additions or tearing out walls or things like that, Doty said. But our primary focus is kitchens and bathrooms.

In addition to construction projects, Carolina Home Design is a dealer of cabinets, hardware and countertops. One of its primary manufacturers is Wellborn Cabinet Company in Alabama.

Its all American-made stuff, Doty said. All materials for the cabinets, as far as the wood, are all American grown. It comes right out of the woods in Tennessee and goes straight to the plant.

Carolina Home Design uses 3D computer software to draw plans that allows customers to vividly see how their finished remodel will look before it is even started. Doty said that is one aspect of the company that sets it apart from other companies.

We do the whole remodel, Doty said. I go to somebodys house, take measurements, discuss budgets and stuff with them, and then I come up with a design that will typically meet their budget and show them the plans.

The companys showroom is located at 401C Second Loop Road, and it is there where customers can choose the cabinets and countertops they want to add to their remodeling project. Doty said they work with other companies for additional products they might need, such as floor coverings or tiles.

Stunning Boathouse Renovation Completed by Stone Creek Builders - September 23, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Matawan, NJ (PRWEB) September 22, 2014

The versatile contractor that specializes in luxury remodeling was originally hired by the client for a whole-house renovation. While in the middle of the job, the client asked the building company to also reconstruct the boathouse.

"Because water-front properties require extra attention to detail, the clients request really showed confidence in our crew, said Mike Bruno, owner of Stone Creek Builders.

Brunos team of dedicated professionals met the complex challenges necessary to bring the clients grandiose vision to life. The family needed something much more than a place to dock the boat and then leave. The family in Rumson NJ desired a comfortable living space near the water with amenities like the main house. A bathroom, running water, cabinets, and a miniature refrigerator were installed, requiring the builder to coordinate its many experts for electrical, plumbing and cabinetry work.

This was all done on top of completely rebuilding the structure. A new deck for the boathouse to sit on was needed. As a contractor that does not cut corners, Stone Creek Builders used treated decking to construct the deck. The builder also handled the framing of the walls and roof. The railings, windows, siding and garage doors were all handled by the builder that has long term relationships with an extensive network of specialists and contractors in the area.

At the completion of the building project, the clients family moved furniture in and now enjoys the water and watching boats with cold drinks within reach.

This job in Rumson NJ really represents what our company is capable of doing. Almost every type of contractor was needed. The whole property was transformed, complete with a waterside recreational living area that really made the family happy, Bruno said.

    About the company

Located in Matawan NJ, Stone Creek Builders is a remodeling and restoration contractor known for its integrity and craftsmanship. In advance of Harris Teeter's further expansion in the southeast as well as Publix opening its first store in the North Carolina Triangle, Lowes Foods is seeking to regain its competitive edge with a new advertising campaign that underscores the Winston-Salem-based grocer's commitment to local sourcing.

According to a report in the Raleigh, N.C.-based News & Observer, the grocer's new campaign is part of a larger strategy to fight for market share against the area's existing and emerging supermarket competitors, which will be accompanied by major remodels of 10 stores and the closure of four underperforming stores.

A spokesperson for the company did not respond to Progressive Grocer's request for comment at press time.

Lowes, whose parent company, Alex Lee, ranks 46 on PG's Super 50list of the nation's top-ranked supermarkets and whose Raleigh area market share is pegged at 5 percent, aims to tout a superior customer experience in an effort to defend its turf compared with the retail heavy-hitters that can rely on price competitiveness. Walmart currently holds the largest market share in the area at 23 percent, followed by Food Lion (19.5 percent), Harris Teeter (16 percent) and Kroger (7 percent), according to the report.

Lowe's new remodels will include a full slate of new features that support the campaign's slogan, "You Can't Fake Local," including a farmers market-style produce department where shoppers can have their produce chopped, diced or sliced in-store; a beer den with craft beers on tap and a select-your-own six-pack option; as well as chef talks, recipe tastings and in-store how-to sessions.

Additionally, signage will prominently denote locally sourced products across store shelves, including 20 flavors of North and South Carolina-made sausages as well as homegrown fruits and vegetables

In conjunction with the new campaign, Lowes also launched a new website, which explains: "By now you probably noticed that our logo is different and our website has been given a makeover. That's because Lowes Foods is in the process of launching a new look on the outside to better reflect what we've always been on the inside: local and proud of it.

"As time goes on and changes are made at more Lowes Foods stores, you'll begin to feel a homegrown element at every turn. From the fixin's served at the Chicken Kitchen to the wooden textures throughout the aisles to our billboards on the highway, we want our passion for being a family-owned, Carolinas-based company to shine in everything we do.

"Thank you for being loyal to Lowes Foods. Join us as we continue to evolve and as we create the finest homegrown experience around."
