They are not James Bond's Aston Martin DB5 but they're cut from the same cloth.
Sort of.
A shipment of furnishings from the Aston Martin Interiors collection is anticipated to arrive at a South Florida showroom early February, turning Pompano Beach-based Zelman Style Interiors into the exclusive Florida distributor of the luxurious furniture line.
The "sleek and contemporary" collection includes chairs, sofas, desks and lamps that are made with the same technologies and materials used in the production of the coveted English sports cars, said Steven Zelman, founder and owner of Zelman Style Interiors.
The pieces will be showcased at Zelman's Sunny Isles Beach showroom at 17070 Collins Ave.
Zelman said the collaboration evolved after one of his friends saw the line in Italy and informed him that the manufacturer was seeking distributors.
"We both did our due diligence to find out if we wanted to do this," Zelman said of himself and Formitalia, the company that produces and markets the furniture. "It's a car line and not many (interior designers) would have taken it.
"But Aston Martin has that air about it, very James Bond. It's classic."
Zelman, who's been in the industry for more than 25 years, is confident the new collection will give him a competitive advantage over other local high-end designers.
His clients, he said, include celebrities, athletes and CEOs from South Florida and around the world who book him for projects that cost anywhere from $100,000 to $10 million.

In a dramatic move that will see Mondetta Clothing expand its approach to innovation and design beyond apparel, the company announces the launch of its Mondetta Interior Solutions (MIS) division specializing in Interior Architecture. The Mondetta name has, since its inception and extended through to its activewear division MPG Mondetta Performance Gear, remained synonymous with cutting-edge design, meticulous attention to detail and only using the finest materials available to create its apparel. MIS will continue that proud tradition to offer retail, corporate, residential and hospitality interior solutions to a diverse array of clientele across the globe.
Roman Rozumnyj, RID will be the principal creative force behind MIS and its Vice President having previously held the position of Senior Design Manager at Hopping Kovach Grinnell Design Consultants,an interior design firm based in Vancouver and Shanghai, known for its high level and award winning international designs. Previous to that he founded WhyNot Designs Inc., an Interior Design studio in Vancouver catering to corporate, retail and residential clients in Canada, Asia and the UK. With over 23 years combined experience, Rozumnyj has accumulated a wealth of experience and knowledge with all aspects of the interior design process from initial design, planning, conceptual design, design development, budgeting, scheduling, working drawings, project management and administration. His further strengths lie in concept development, project analysis and team leadership, a role to which he brings an innate talent and incomparable enthusiasm with a passion for each project undertaken.
Rozumnyjs responsibilities at MIS will include establishing and overseeing a leading edge interior design studio in Winnipeg, with satellite offices in Vancouver and NYC, catering to the retail, commercial, residential, corporate and hospitality industries with Artwork, Branding and Graphics Consulting Services included in the mix.
"Fundamentally, design is simply a solution to a problem. The pure beauty of a functional, economical, sophisticated and unexpected resolve to a condition is what we strive for on behalf of our clients. I bring to MIS my many years of international experience and expertise in the design and project management field, and am driven to achieve and surpass the enthusiastic commitment and passion for design already instilled in the Mondetta corporate structure. Furthermore, I look forward to to the enormous opportunities unfolding for MIS and our clients," Rozumnyj said, sharing his thoughts on the cusp of the launch.
Mondetta Clothing and MIS CEO, Ash Modha, explained the company's decision to embark upon this new venture: Great design has and always will remain Mondetta's passion and a guiding principle central to our brand philosophy. It is our reason for doing business and informs every decision we make. MIS is an extension of that ethos by allowing us to embark upon a completely new direction, from apparel to Interior solutions, yet adhere to our core tenets of superlative design. Given the fact we've known Roman for over 25 years, have worked with him on several projects and have developed a personal relationship between him and the Principals of the Company, the decision to bring him on board was an easy one to make. Needless to say, we're terribly excited to move forward and anticipate great things to come.
MIS' first major project was the complete renovation of the Mondetta Clothing Corporate head offices in Winnipeg, Manitoba followed by studio restoration endeavors in Vancouver, Winnipeg and New York. MIS is well on it's way with retail store development projects in Seoul Korea, commercial projects in Vancouver and Winnipeg, art program commissions for corporate clients, as well as a showroom retrofit in NYC to name a few.

Lighting design firm Crystorama has announced a licensing partnership with interior designer Libby Langdon that will include multiple collections reflecting Langdons updated traditional design aesthetic. Launching in spring 2014, the Libby Langdon Collection for Crystorama will include hanging chandeliers, wall sconces and ceiling mount fixtures.
Crystorama has a long history of creating unique lighting fixtures using the finest materials available, including cut crystal, fine glass and a mix of metals, all in line with todays home fashion and dcor trends, said Brad Kleinberg, president of Crystorama Lighting. Our partnership with Libby Langdon will take that design heritage to an entirely new level, drawing on the aesthetic that is distinctly Libby with its modern, fresh feel and traditional elements suited for any room in the house.
Langdon, whose designer skills and extensive portfolio have been featured in numerous consumer magazines and national television programs, has a signature style that combines classic lines with chic, modern twists to complement contemporary lifestyles. Her focus on everyday makeover solutions provides her with inspiration for her home furnishings lines with Braxton Culler, Casart Wallcoverings and Tiger Rug and enables her to relate to consumers across the country in terms of decorating solutions for their lifestyle needs.
Langdons practical approach to home dcor with creative details suits the design aesthetic of the Crystorama brand and its whole-home offerings. Langdons lighting collection for Crystorama will allow her to continue to emphasize lighting as a key design element in every room.
One of the most important elements I use in creating a warm and inviting environment is lighting, so Im thrilled to be designing a collection of lighting fixtures for Crystorama, Langdon said. My designs incorporate traditional elements with an updated twist. I use insights I gather from working one-on-one with my clients and will plug that information into creating a lighting collection I know will resonate with consumers and will embody my easy, elegant, everyday style.
The Libby Langdon Collection for Crystorama will launch in spring 2014 and will be available through lighting retailers and design centers.

I havent been affected by the floods, but other people have, the 54-year-old Dragons Den judge tells me. When something happens in the Philippines or something happens somewhere else in the world, we rally round to get funds together, but here people cant even get proper insurance in flood areas so people are up against it.
The film is sure to be highly controversial. Its reviled by a lot of people because its a twisted story of paedophilia, he says.
Jackson was speaking to me at the Superdry AW14 catwalk event as part of London Collections: Men, but didnt seemed unduly concerned about fashion.
I didnt even realise it was fashion week, he admitted. Whenever I come to London, I just like to walk around and see what people are wearing. Theres a great eclectic sense of style that you dont see elsewhere.

The Chanel designer is keeping himself very busy...
Karl Lagerfeld is designing to 'grand apartments' in the Hotel de Crillon
Rex
Karl Lagerfeld has swapped fashion for interiors, as he gets ready to design two luxurious suites for the historic Htel de Crillon in Paris.
The Chanel creative director has been tasked with designing two of the palatial hotel's most prestigious suites, which Karl has called 'grand apartments'.
The Crillon, which opened as a hotel in 1909, dates back to 1758. Situated on the Place de la Concorde, it is steeped in the culture and history of 18th century Paris. It has 103 rooms and 44 suites, which have hosted the world's most famous people.
Speaking to WWD, Radha Arora, president of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, said: 'No-one understands Paris or the heritage of the Crillon better than Mr. Lagerfeld.' Given the years the designer has spent living and working in Paris, we would have to agree.
But this won't be Mr Lagerfeld's first foray into the world of interiors the Chanel designer has also lent his design talents to the create the emblem for Sofitel So Singapore, and he also advised on the interiors of the Alma Schlosshotel in Berlin. If you happen to be travelling to the Hotel Metropole in Monte-Carlo, you'll see Karl's work in the restaurant and by the pool, too.
Karl, the interior decorator? We love it.
