First Indoor Grow, Lighting Upgrade, Blue with Red Supplemental - September 27, 2011 by Mr HomeBuilder

made a huge improvement over my last apparatus, got rid of the tiny worthless 3 24 inch "grow lights" i had, now i have two 4 ft t8 2700 lumen 6500K (blue) lights in the fixture, supplementing red with the two CFL bulbs, an 150W and 200W equivalent (42w and 55w CFL), making my total grow apparatus as energy hungry as one (very) small HID light.(4 ft fixture=70w, CFL1= 42w,CFL2 55w= I'm not saying anything about it being as good, but it'll do for now. fixture runs cool enough for the plant to touch with no burning. The blue side has about 6400 lumen output, (2700 each) and i forget the CFL output (lumens are not really too too important, but the color spectrum is) is around 3500+ lumens(each) I beleive.
