AMSTERDAM Defensive handyman Geoff Cameron has received widespread transfer interest this summer, but his agent informed MLSsoccer.com that Stoke City have no interest in parting with the US international.
As reported by the Stoke Sentinelon Friday, the 29-year-old has drawn quite a crowd of admirers in recent months. Fresh off working at three different positions in his first World Cup, Cameron currently has several Premier League suitors and Bundesliga side Hamburg pondering bids for his services. In addition, the likes of Anderlecht, Eintracht Frankfurt, PSV Eindhoven and Schalke made introductory calls about Cameron earlier in the summer.
"There have been numerous options, especially EPL, but I met with Stoke yesterday and they won't sell," Cameron's rep, Gary Mellor, told MLSsoccer.com by e-mail on Friday night.
Since arriving from the Houston Dynamo two summers ago, Cameron has started 74 of 79 matches across all competitions for Stoke. Having just returned to the club after a post-World Cup vacation, he is now preparing to see his first action of the preseason when the Potters visit Blackburn on Sunday.
Stoke will open the new Premier League season at home to Brad Guzan and Aston Villa on August 16.

Looking to save some money on your fuel bills?
Westons social services department has partnered with Mr. Handyman of Upper Fairfield County to promote the free-of-charge Home Energy Solutions Income Eligible (HES-IE), a program sponsored by Energize Connecticut that can help.
As heating fuel and electricity become more expensive, the case for weatherizing homes becomes stronger, while the costs of inaction increasingly hurt families budgets, according to Charlene Chiang-Hillman, Westons director of social services.
Mr. Handyman has committed its community outreach staff to provide in-home assistance with the HES-IE application process and scheduling to Weston residents, according to a press release issued by Mr. Handyman.
We need to get the word out. Many Weston seniors and families qualify, but they dont take advantage of this free weatherization and energy efficiency program. Either they havent heard about it, or they dont believe its really free, Ms. Chiang-Hillman said.
Customers of Connecticut Light & Power, Yankee Gas and Connecticut Natural Gas whose combined household earnings are less than 60% of the state median income are eligible for free-of-charge HES-IE services.
Program qualification is expedited for households receiving energy assistance, supplemental nutrition assistance (SNAP), elderly living on Social Security, and families relying on disability or unemployment insurance.
We encourage residents to call Mr. Handymans outreach team if they are interested in this program. They may also call the Department of Social Services at 203-222-2663, Ms. Chiang-Hillman said.
Mr. Handyman will donate $25 to the Weston Warm-Up Fund for each HES-IE appointment that is completed by their company. We hope all eligible households will buy into this win-win campaign: homes become more comfortable and energy bills decrease, our audit and insulation crews have work, and the Warm-Up Fund receives much-needed cash, said Lorenzo Wyatt, co-owner of Mr. Handyman.

PLANS to axe funding for gardening and handyman services to sheltered accommodation and frail pensioners homes across Hampshire were rubber-stamped yesterday.
Hampshire County Councils adult social care and public health boss Cllr Liz Fairhurst approved recommendations to pull the plug on the service in a bid to save 7.6m. It comes as the council faces a 102m budget black hole.
Other plans that were agreed included replacing emergency alarms fitted in properties with state-of-the-art telecare sensors.
When a pensioner is in trouble the sensors automatically contact a call centre, which in turn phones a nominated helper.
But only those in the greatest need will receive telecare, leaving hundreds of elderly residents across the county without the ability to summon emergency help.
Cllr Fairhurst said: Adult services must make 43m of savings by the end of 2015/16 and with our limited means, ensure that our services can continue to support those with the highest need, and are sustainable for the future.
Hampshire Age Concern chairman Chris Perry said he understood that the council had to balance its budget but the loss of services would impact negatively on older people.

A handyman with financial problems has shot dead his wife and three children before committing suicide, in what police in Maine say is one of the worst cases of domestic violence in state history.
Joel Smith presented a friendly face at the 61-unit flats complex in Saco where he worked. But he was having domestic and financial problems, and his wife told a family friend that he had recently threatened to kill himself, police said.
The family had moved from Arizona about two years ago because of the sour economy, said Smiths mother, Jerys Caruthers-Thorpe, of Scottsdale, Arizona.
I know something had to have snapped because Joel never would have done that in his right mind, she said.
Heather Smith, 35, was shot along with the couples four-year-old daughter Lily in her parents bed. Joel Smiths body was found on the floor nearby, a shotgun by his side.
The boys, 12-year-old Jason Montez and Noah Montez, seven, were found dead in their separate bedrooms.
Investigators said Smiths wife told a family friend before the shooting that Smith, 33, threatened suicide by holding a gun to his head about a week earlier. The friend later contacted a flats complex worker to express concerns about the familys well-being, leading to the gruesome discovery on Sunday.

The Midland County Council on Aging provides services to about 19,500 senior citizens. These services range from providing Meals on Wheels to shut-in residents, to providing taxi service to the doctors, dentists or the grocery store. They include handyman services, health care coordination, home care, counseling, education and support groups.
Senior Services also operates Seasons, a daytime program for individuals who are living with increased changes in their memory from dementias such as Alzheimers disease, or physical health changes as they age.
The number of seniors is increasing as the Baby Boomer generation reaches retirement age. According to Midland Tomorrow projections, the number of seniors will grow by 19 percent by 2018, to 23,000, or 26 percent of Midland Countys population. More than 5,000 of those individuals will be over 80, a 23 percent increase. Senior Services projects that it will have 500 new program participants by that time.
And Senior Services of Midland County is struggling financially to provide services for them.
Unfortunately, the money to pay for these services has not kept pace with the aging population. While costs have increased 3.5 percent annually over the past five years, the taxable value of property, on which the senior millage is based, has increased only 1.5 percent. And, support from the state through the Office of Services to the Aging has dropped 7.5 percent during that time.
Because of these reasons, Senior Services is facing a budget deficit over the next five years, a deficit they hope to eliminate with a request for an increase in the senior millage, something that has not occurred since 2002, and some judicious cuts to programming.
Currently, Senior Services operates with a 0.75 mill rate. It will be asking Midland County residents to increase that to 0.9 mill on Aug. 5.
The increase is justified the Midland County Council on Aging has been a good steward of public monies over the past decade. In years that it didnt need the full millage, it authorized a lesser amount. In five of the past 12 years, a lesser amount than the 0.75 mill was levied.
If you would like to see Senior Services continue to meet the growing number of seniors, and to help seniors maintain an independent living style, then you need to vote yes on Aug. 5 on the senior millage question.
Providing the best possible quality of life for our senior population is money well spent.
