Window Genie announces the grand opening of its newest location in Killeen Texas on Monday November 17th. Local retired Army Master Sergeant, Eric Stewart and his wife Nydia are co-owners. Window Genie of Killeen will service the north Austin communities from Round Rock to Belton and Killeen.

According to Eric Stewart, he spent 20 years, 28 days, 11 hours and 37 minutes serving in the Army, most recently as an Apache Helicopter Mechanic. After retiring as a Master Sergeant E-8 in 2008, he returned to Iraq and Afghanistan to serve the troops as a Contractor for 6 years in support of Operation Enduring Freedom until March of 2014. After returning home to Killeen, Stewart put his resume out to almost 70 employers. I think I was only called in for two interviews, Stewart said. I had no idea how hard it would be for me to get a job. Shortly after beginning his job search, Stewart was contacted by Bruce Krebs, Franchise Coach with The Entrepreneurs Source. Together they were able to discover what business opportunities best fit Stewarts strengths, weaknesses, interests and goals. Stewart said, Bruce helped me realize business ownership was the best opportunity for me to be both successful and happy; I wouldnt do well behind a desk. I was excited immediately at the prospect of being my own boss and creating a future and legacy for me and my family.

Eric and Nydia Stewart open for business on November 17th. Eric is the owner/operator and Nydia will help with administrative duties and social media. Gutter cleaning : It's one of those jobs that have us groaning before we even take the ladder out of the garage, but it's necessary nonetheless. Leaves, sticks, bugs and twigs all do their part to clog our gutters and downspouts leaving our homes vulnerable to water damage.

But before you resign yourself to your fate and grab up all of your old rags, a broom and the garden hose, you should know that there is an easy and quick way to clean your gutters. That's right, you can leave a ladder in your storage, and all you will need is a pressure washer, a telescoping wand and an attachable gutter cleaner wand , and possibly a couple of trash bags and you're set for the gutter cleaning chore that won't leave you pulling your hair out.

Since the majority of gutters become clogged when debris like falling leaves get caught in them, you should first check the top portions of your gutter system to remove any excess debris. If your gutters are relatively clear with no large masses of debris, you will need to do nothing at this point; the pressure washer will be able to take care of all of it for you.

The next step to gutter cleaning with a pressure washer is to clean your downspouts. You can do this by removing any debris that may be found around the base of your downspout and putting it into a trash bag. Then, take the pressure washer and direct a stream of water with a high GPM through the downspout. When you see that the water is running freely out of the downspouts, you can move on to the rest of the gutters.

Now all you have to do is wash the debris that is left in the gutters down through the downspouts with the pressure washer. Clean the debris from around the base of your downspouts once again and wipe down the outside of your gutters with a cleaning cloth.

Lou Pins spent the last 25 years in supply chain management at several companies in Southern Wisconsin. In recent years I noticed the large corporations I worked for were doing less and less on a local community level, he said. It seemed that profit became more important than culture, so I decided it was finally time for me to move on.

After putting his resume out online earlier this year, Pins was contacted by Franchise Coach, Marty Barnes of The Entrepreneurs Source. Pins said, Working with Marty was great because he helped me realize that business ownership would help me gain back what I was missing in my work-life balance. I wanted more freedom and I wanted to continue getting involved in my community.

Fry was wounded while fighting in Cambodia on 5/24/1970 and retired from the military in 1971. Establishing meaningful relationships with people in the area is how well do business. My wife Jackie was born and raised here and Ive lived here since 1987. Window Genie will allow us to stay connected and contribute to the community we love.

Pins plans to hire one or two additional technicians in his first few months of business. He said, Were excited to get our team trained and on the right track this fall with the pre-holiday cleaning so were prepared to knock it out of the park this spring.
