The Spring Festival Committee has sprung into action to spend $2000 received from the Town of Narrogin's Community Chest Grants.
The annual grant acquittal by the Town supports grassroots causes through a one- off grant, as decided by the council after an application process.
The Narrogin Spring Festival was given $2000 as well as in-kind support from the Town.
NSF secretary Loriann Bell said the committee was thrilled to be able to buy three new gazebos with the grant, which she said would help identify the committee to punters on the festival weekend.
"These are owned by the committee now, and will save the Spring Festival money in the long run, which means we can continue to run the festival," she said.
Town of Narrogin manager leisure and culture Susan Guy said she was glad to see the money put to good use.
"The Spring Festival is a valuable contributor to the community and the Town is proud to be able to support it," she said.
"The committee works hard at fundraising and applying for grants and (the Community Chest grant) complements the existing sources."

GeoEstate Development Corp. set a new milestone when it recently started construction of the third and final tower of The Beacon Makati, its first residential condominium project in the countrys financial district.
The podium of the 45-story Amorsolo Tower is starting to rise after the first concrete pouring of its foundation on June 2. About 50 percent of its studio, two-bedroom and penthouse units are already sold. GeoEstate expects to complete the tower by 2017.
The Amorsolo Tower will complete The Beacon and our first project, said Derryl Camaclang, manager of the Marketing Support Group and Customer Relations Unit. When we sold The Beacon, we were a new player and had no track record. So its important for us to deliver this project.
Roces Tower, the first tower of the residential resort community at the corner of Don Chino Roces and Arnaiz Avenue, was completed in 2012. It was followed in 2013 by Arnaiz Tower. Both towers are fully sold out and are now being occupied by unit owners and tenants.
Many unit owners in Arnaiz Tower bought more than one unit in the same building, Camaclang said. Many owners in Roces Tower also bought units in Arnaiz Tower and leased out their units in the first building. The quality of studio, one- and two-bedroom units at The Beacon is at par with many luxury condominiums but their prices are more affordable.
Meanwhile, The Beacon community is taking shape with residents enjoying both their elegant homes and amenities. The adult and kiddie swimming pools are favorites for both children and adults. The spacious gardens, complete with gazebos, add to the resort and vacation atmosphere.
Arnaiz Tower hosts most of The Beacons indoor amenities on its 6th floor. Homeowners are working out in the fully equipped bi-level gym which is complemented by a locker room, shower rooms and a sauna. There is also an expansive lounge area, function room and a playroom.
Arnaiz Tower also has the Sky Lounge and a mini theater in its roof deck. The roof deck also has an open area, where families can enjoy the breeze, morning sun and a view of the Makati skyline, Manila Bay and other parts of the metropolis.
The Roces Tower and Amorsolo Tower roof decks each have two barbecue areas and can be used for private parties of the unit owners.
The Beacon is ideal for families and professionals seeking a home and sanctuary in the Makati Central Business District. It is also conveniently located close to shopping complexes, schools, hospitals and major thoroughfares.

Congrats are in order for Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union.
Yesterday was a moment they will never forget, and judging from all of the deets that have leaked from their lavish ceremony, neither will their wedding guests. The superstar couple got hitched in a beautiful ceremony at the Chateau Artisan Miami, which is a castle that sits on 14 acres amid a private lake and royal gardens. There were about 200 wedding guests, which included Kevin Hart and his fiance Eniko Parrish, Ludacris and his girlfriend Eudoxie, Terrence J, BETs Stephen Hill, Quentin Richardson, Dorell Wright, Carmelo and La La Anthony, LeBron James, producer Will Packer, actress AJ Johnson, Donte Stallworth and ring designer Jason of Beverly Hills.
E! News obtained sketches of Gabbys wedding dress, which was designed by Dennis Basso for Kleinfeld. All females in attendance were asked to match the bride in white, and the men dressed in all black to match the groom. It is also rumored that John Legend serenaded the couple at the wedding.
Although guests were asked to sign confidentiality agreements and ditch their phones and cameras at the door, Gossip Extra spilled all the deets for the couples big day.
Catch those and pics from the guests (prior to the wedding) below:
Details:
Dwyane Wade spent $5 million on the wedding weekend.
The theme: Old Florida juke joint and the decor has plenty of Heat references and even live chicken!
[Gossip Extra obtained a copy of the detailed wedding schedule. It shows that organizers were so paranoid to let the cat out of the bag during the months of planning that the paperwork is under the headline: The wedding of Sheik Noinu Edaw. Thats Union Wade spelled backwards!]

Spectacle Island, Boston Harbor -
August 29, 2014 by
Mr HomeBuilder
By Jayne Glennon Green, brown and white pieces of glass, tumbled smooth by the Atlantic, litter the south beach of Spectacle Island. Atop the grassy hill that leads down to this beach, a lone tree points east, a leafy flag in the wind. Gravel and stone dust trails circle up to the tree and then down and across lowland to the north side of the island and circle again to the top of another slightly taller grassy hill, this one topped by a gazebo. More than five miles of walking trails amid various stubby pine trees, sumac, raspberry vines and wildflowers, climb two drumlins that make up this lovely wind-blown island.
Spectacle Island is part of the Boston Harbor Islands, a National Park Area. At one time it was a garbage dump; the dumping ended in 1959 but the island languished for many years. Standing atop what used to be under Boston, both hills offer spectacular views of the city, the harbor and the awesome Atlantic.
Thrilled to have my dear friend Karen join me, we bought $15 round-trip ferry tickets at a booth on Long Wharf. Our tickets included George's Island, but we were to spend the day on Spectacle. The ferry ride was 20 minutes, and we enjoyed the different perspective of the waterfront and seaport. The visitor's center welcomed all and is the only building on the island other than two gazebos. Bathrooms, a snackbar and an island history exhibit are open to visitors when the ferries are running. Guided tours are offered by park rangers but we chose the self guided pamphlet.
Following the 10 tour stops in order, the path leads around and up the north drumlin. From here 360-degree views of Boston Harbor were breathtaking. The harbor channel, Logan Airport, many harbor islands, the Boston skyline and the Atlantic surrounded us. We picnicked, soaked in lots of fresh air and then continued the tour. Headed to South Beach along the eastern edge of the island, a massive stone sea wall has been built to hold the island/landfill in place. Spectacle Island was a beautiful place to walk with several miles of easy hills. Ferry service runs through Oct. 13.

The Yankees can make us all happy they exist. All they have to do is call up a Triple-A pitcher throwing well this year.
Yankees fans: Your team is annoying.
You wouldn't think that's a controversial statement, but every time I write something that even dances around a suggestion of a hint of an implication of that theme, I get emails. I get nasty tweets. It surprises me every time. Embrace it, Yankees fans. Embrace it. It's one part being better than everyone over the last century, one part getting more attention than everyone over the last century. Those are good things. Your team is annoying because of things that make you happy.
My team is annoying, too. The Giants weaponized Barry Bonds and sent him out into the world, and they've also had recent success in the postseason. Both of those things bother a lot of people. They're not as annoying as the Yankees, but, ha ha, no one is. It's not a bad thing. Embrace it or get used to people laughing at you when you get upset. Either way, just know that this is an objective truth.
For the last two seasons, the rest of us have had to follow retirement tours. All we want are baseball highlights, yet we have to sit through videos of Derek Jeter accepting alabaster gazebos and pretending to be grateful. This comes a year after watching Mariano Rivera going from ballpark to ballpark, accepting 500-pound pewter M&Ms he didn't want.
The Yankees are literally fighting for a playoff spot right now, which is absurdly annoying. They're playing a mummy at shortstop and almost every player they have is hurt or ineffective. They've been outscored by 25 runs on the season, giving them the same expected win-loss record as the Padres. Instead, they're fighting for their 18th playoff appearance of the last 20 years.
Yankees fans: Your team is annoying.
But there's a way the team can make it up to us. Well, partially make it up to us. It would take decades and decades of losing before the other 29 teams became totally sympathetic toward the Yankees, but there's a way to make us root for the Yankees on September 1. All they have to do is call up a Triple-A pitcher who has performed well at almost every stop of the minor leagues. Look at these stats:
Those are delightful stats. If the Yankees make room on the 40-man roster for this pitcher, everyone will root for him. Everyone will at least be curious about him, curious enough to tune into a Yankees broadcast for reasons other than hate-watching.
Here is a screenshot from that player'sBaseball-Reference page:

Open air theatre company The Lord Chamberlain's Men, named after Shakespeare's original troupe of travelling players, are celebrating their tenth anniversary this year
Campaigning, storytelling and an awful lot of touring. They've been rained on, rained off, flooded and still they've powered through, performing and touring some of the world's most beautiful open air venues. There's no doubt it's been a hectic, but successful ten years for The Lord Chamberlain's Men. To mark the occasion, their artistic director, Mark Puddle gives us ten highlights...
Year 1 Our inaugural production of Macbeth kick-starts The Lord Chamberlain's Men reputation for bold, clear and dynamic storytelling, touring to 35 venues over a 10 week period and playing to just over 6,000 people.
Year 2 - The hottest summer on record draws huge audience numbers for A Midsummer Night's Dream. The Lord Chamberlain's Men experience just two wet nights and some amazing sunsets.
Year 3 Following the beautiful sunshine of the previous year, year three could only be followed by the year of the floods! For that year's production of Romeo and Juliet, The Lord Chamberlain's Men went through nine Gazebos (here's one still standing!) and we only had 17 dry nights out of 55.
Year 4 For Much Ado About Nothing we invested in a new set, constructed in just an hour and deconstructed in 40 minutes. Open air touring just got a whole lot easier!
Year 5 The Lord Chamberlain's Men's fifth birthday! To celebrate we toured Twelfth Night to 50 different venues playing to just over 20,000 people as well as making our London debut at Soho Green.
Year 6 This year we made our first trip abroad with The Tempest visiting Holland, Cyprus and Greece at the end of our 18-week UK tour.
Year 7 - Modern technology reaches A Midsummer Night's Dream with our first ever audience selfie!

New pool fencing rules could delay property sales, according to industry groups. Photo: Supplied
Swimming pool and real estate groups say new pool fencing rules, which could be finally introduced in April, could delay sales or rentals of properties with pools because there will still be too few inspectors.
The state government's proposals to increase the number of qualified inspectors exclude swimming pool and spa technicians.
"Our people are specialised, they live and breathe pools daily," Swimming Pool and Spa Alliance chief executive Spiros Dassakis said.
"These technicians service thousands of residential pools in NSW every week."

His association has not been told why the technicians have been excluded.
To fight for their inclusion, the alliance has imposed a compulsory $150 levy on each member to fund legal action.
It will also lobby for a change in rules, which it says are being interpreted inconsistently by councils and certifiers, such as those relating to infinity pools and gazebos.
From April, all properties with pools will require a certificate of compliance before a sale or lease can be finalised.
The rest is here:
