But it clearly paid off, as this week they celebrated a FIFTH big home win on the bounce.

NOT PICKED YOUR FANTASY FOOTBALL TEAM YET? WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

Last month, Guangzhou R&F took the drastic action, believing gold made for better feng shui than blue.

That is despite the fact that it is the colour of the Chinese Super League clubs strip, badge and originally its home ground too.

It followed a rotten sequence of just one home win in four months.

But since painstakingly repainting their 20,000-capacity Yuexiushan Stadium in mid-July, the team in southern China have seen their fortunes dramatically reverse.

On Wednesday they beat Fabio Capello's big-spending Jiangsu Suning 4-2 at home to climb to third in the CSL and make it four home wins on the trot, scoring 18 goals in the process.

They also beat city rivals Guangzhou Evergrande in a home cup game.

R&F coach Dragan Stojkovic told the club website: "After we changed the colour of our home stadium we got five wins and a high goal-scoring rate as well.

"I think this is what the fans want to see... beautiful offensive football."

    Rex Features

The former Serbian international added: "The gold colour of our home stadium is pretty nice, no need to change it now."

The philosophy of feng shui - literally meaning "wind-water" - is influential in many parts of Asia.

Using the philosophy, people carefully position items in offices and homes to maximise luck and wealth.

Flying Star Feng Shui – Wikipedia - October 24, 2016 by Mr HomeBuilder

Xuan Kong Flying Star feng shui or Xuan Kong Fei Xing[1] is one of disciplines in Feng Shui, and is an integration of the principles of Yin Yang, the interactions between the five elements, the eight trigrams, the Lo Shu numbers, and the 24 Mountains, by using time, space and objects[2] to create an astrological chart to analyze positive auras and negative auras of a building.[3]

These include analyzing wealth, mental and physiological states, success, relationships with external parties, and health of the inhabitant.[4]

During the Qing Dynasty, it was popularized by a grandmaster Shen Zhu Ren, with the book that he wrote called Mr. Shen's Study of Xuan Kong, or Shen Shi Xuan Kong Xue.[5]

Flying Star Feng Shui does not limit itself to buildings for the living or Yang Zhai, where rules pertaining to directions equally apply to all built structures; it also applies to grave sites and buildings for spirits or Yin Zhai.[6][7]

In the Lo Shu Square, flying stars are nine numbers.[8]

Each number in the Lo Shu represents one of the Chinese Trigrams and is related to an Element, Family Member, Cardinal, Colour, Hour, Season, Organ, Ailments and many others.[9][10]

The numbers always move to the lower right (northwest), middle right (west), lower left (northeast), upper center (south), lower center (north), upper right (southwest), middle left (east), upper left (southeast) and back to the center.[11]

Time is divided into 20-Year cycles. Each cycle of 20 years is a Period or "Yun". A grand cycle comprises 9 Periods in total which covers a span of 180 years.[12]

Periods are used to describe the cyclical pattern of Qi. Different types of Qi have different strengths and weaknesses with the reference to a particular Period.[13]

    Periodic Table on Flying Stars[14][15]

A timely star is positive for a building whereas untimely star is negative. For the current period, Period 8 (Year 20042023), stars Eight, Nine and One are timely (For a building, they are timely if and only if the object placed in that palace is timely). Star Eight is most timely which is often treated as Prosperous and Noble Star. Star Nine and Star One belong to Sheng Qi, a growing energy. The other six stars are regarded as having retreating, killing or dead qi.[16][17][18]

An accurate measurement of direction must be obtained before any system of Feng Shui can be undertaken.[19]

A Luopan is a magnetic compass to determine the precise direction of a structure or an item.

The most important ring on the Luopan is the 24 Mountain ring.[20]

On the 24 Mountain ring, each direction is subdivided into three sectors.

Using the principles of Yin and Yang, the facing of a building is determined by the side of the built structure that receives most Yang Qi.[21][22]

A house is constructed with an architectural frontage with its side that faces whatever landscape feature. The facing of that house is considered by the direction of its frontage which is most Yang in nature.[23]

In apartments, or condominiums, the facing of a unit is determined by the facing of the entire building. If the structure is not an obvious facade, the facing of the unit is determined by the side of the building having the most Yang energy (faces the busiest crowd flow).

Energy in a building can be tapped into by locating a person within a sector that houses the energy. Ideally, living objects should be located in a sector with positive Qi as determined by Flying Star Chart.[24]

The layout of a building is demarcated with a Nine Palace grid, which looks like a tic-tac-toe grid. A door, room or other object's location refers to the square within this grid where the object is found. This may or may not correspond to the direction that the object faces. A door could be located in the southwest sector, but face south. Its location could be also southwest, and its direction to be facing to the south.

Objects are essential to evaluate the Feng Shui of a building.[25][26][27]

Mountain generates Qi. A lush and green mountain or hill generates auspicious Qi, while a barren, rocky rising area will, in general, generate inauspicious energy.[28]

In urban areas, skyscrapers, apartments or any structure that rises from the ground have a similar role to a mountain: generating energy outside. From inside, cupboards, wardrobes, or any furniture that is taller or larger than any others nearby are also considered mountains.[29]

Water conducts Qi. It is essential to identify the cleanliness of the water, the location and the flow of the water formation. These include ponds, lakes, rivers, drains and fountains.[30][31]

In urban areas, highways and lowland play a similar role to waterways, conducting Qi. Inside a building or a room, spinning fan or anything lower than ground level is considered water.[32]

Nine Palace Flying Stars or Jiu Gong Fei Xing is another name of Flying Stars method whereby palaces are the nine sectors overlaid onto a layout of the house.[33]

A Flying Star chart consists of three numbers in each Palace of the Luo Shu. These numbers are called the Base Star, the Facing Star and the Sitting Star.

Constructing a Flying Star Chart requires - The dates that the building was occupied by the owners - The facing of the building[34][35]

For example, if a building is constructed in the year 2003, but the residents do not move in until February 4 of 2004, the Period of the building is 8, not 7.

Period does not change again unless there is major renovation undertaken to the structure.[36]

Creating a Flying Star chart is always begun with the Base Star. Period of the building determines the number occupies the Base Star position of the Central Palace. Base Stars always fly in the Luo Shu path.

Once all the base stars are distributed amongst the nine palaces, the number in Facing Palace on the Luo Shu grid is determined by the facing direction of the building. This number is the facing star.

The Sitting Palace is always opposite of the Facing Palace. The sitting star is the number in the sitting palace.

For instance, in a Period-8 building that faces southwest, the number that locates in Facing Palace is number 5 whereas the number in Sitting Palace is number 2; thus, 5 is Facing Star and 2 is Sitting Star.

Unlike the Base Star, the Facing Star and Sitting Star can fly in either ascending (Yang) order, or descending (Yin) order. The order depends upon two factors on 1 Whether the star is an even number or an odd number, and 2 Which the mountain that the unit faces.

Even-numbered Stars follow a Yin-Yang-Yang form. In a certain number which comprises three mountains, should the mountain that the property faces is Yang, then the numbers fly in ascending order of Lo Shu path, and vice versa.

Odd-numbered Stars follow a Yang-Yin-Yin form. In a certain number which comprises three mountains, should the mountain that the property faces is Yang, then the numbers fly in ascending order of Lo Shu path, and vice versa.

To determine the polarity of number 5 star, go by the polarity of the Period number.

Flying stars can be timely or untimely. The nature of flying star depends on which period is to be referred and which star is being activated.[37]

Understanding the Principles of Feng Shui – dummies - September 26, 2016 by Mr HomeBuilder

Everyone appreciates the benefits of beautiful, comfortable living environments; Americas billion-dollar interior decorating industry attests to this fact. However, Feng Shui takes the approach that your surroundings affect not just your level of material comfort but also your physical and mental health, your relationships, and your worldly success.

Feng Shui (pronounced fung shway) examines how the placement of things and objects within it affect the energy flow in your living environment, and how these objects interact with and influence your personal energy flow. Your personal energy flow affects how you think and act, which in turn affects how well you perform and succeed in your personal and professional life. Feng Shui affects you every moment of the day whether youre aware of it or not.

As you begin to discover more about Feng Shui, remember that you need to have an open mind and should use the methods that are most comfortable for your particular circumstances.

If youve already read a bit about Feng Shui, you may be somewhat confused by the seemingly contradictory advice youve encountered. People who are unfamiliar with this method may have some misconceptions and apprehension.

    Feng Shui is not

So the million-dollar question is, what is Feng Shui?

Interesting bits of historical Feng Shui confirmation are starting to emerge. For example, recent scientific research indicates that 28,000 years ago, Neanderthal cavemen (located in present-day Croatia) chose which caves to live in based on three criteria: The caves held the high ground in the area, the surrounding area was easily seen from the entrance of the cave, and the water source was easily accessible. These findings show that even our ancestors were naturally aware of the effects of placement in their environment. Interestingly enough, all three of these criteria are in harmony with the basic principles of Feng Shui, which has evolved and become more sophisticated along with humankind. Thus, Feng Shui is as relevant and beneficial to humankind today as it was 28,000 years ago.

Feng Shui is a term composed of two Chinese words: feng (wind) and shui (water). Wind and water are the two natural elements that flow, move, and circulate everywhere on Earth. They are also the most basic elements required for human survival. Wind or air is the breath of life; without it, we would die in moments. And water is the liquid of life; without it, we would die in days. The combined qualities of wind and water determine the climate, which historically has determined our food supply and in turn affects our lifestyle, health, energy, and mood. These two fundamental and flowing elements have always profoundly yet subtly influenced human individuals and societies.

The essence of these life-giving elements is chi, or life force. Wind and water are direct carriers of chi, as their flowing quality reflects their essential nature. All living organisms are largely composed of these two elements. Thus, Feng Shui is the art of designing environments in harmony with the flow of chi through ones living space, and this flow supports and enhances ones personal chi or life force.

Feng Shui is rooted in a holistic worldview. It sees all things and creatures as part of a natural order, a vast environment that is alive and in flux, ever moving and changing. Each thing in this natural order is equally alive and has an energetic value or component. So everything plants, animals, people, and things exists in a vast landscape that swirls with vital energy. The same energy that flows through the world flows through you as well. In fact, according to this view, your essence the part of you that makes you alive, unique, and vital is this energy. And your body is the vehicle or environment in which this essence flows.

Feng Shui divides the vast environment or landscape that is the universe into more manageable units like human beings and their homes, property, offices, living rooms, and bedrooms. You cant control the Feng Shui of the world at large. But Feng Shui enables you to design your personal environment according to the same universal principles of energy flow by which planets spin in their orbits and galaxies wheel through space.

How to Feng Shui Your Bedroom (with Pictures) – wikiHow - September 26, 2016 by Mr HomeBuilder

    User Reviewed

Four Parts:Applying Feng Shui to Your BedAvoiding Negative EnergyCreating Balance Through ColorsMaking Other ConsiderationsCommunity Q&A

The ancient Chinese method of Feng Shui helps us to balance our homes and create happier, more successful lives, room by room. We often turn our attention to the bedroom, the sanctuary where we can rest and recharge. Having the proper Feng Shui in the bedroom can help your romantic life as well as your ability to rest and to feel in control. You have to know how to keep the chi flowing, and how to deflect any negative energy that may enter your room -- and your life. If you want to know how to Feng Shui your bedroom, just see Step 1 to get started.

    1

Have a solid headboard. The best Feng Shui headboards are the ones that are solid and made from wood, or the upholstered ones, as they have a very good combination of solid, but also gentle and supporting Feng Shui energy for you and your bedroom. While you are drifting off to sleep, your body is going into an extra busy energy repair work on many levels. Subconsciously, your head needs good backing, protection and support, just like your back needs it when you are sitting in a chair for extended periods of time.

    2

Get a supportive mattress. There are a variety of mattresses on the market, choose wisely and invest in the one that will promote best sleep and relaxation. The better you sleep at night, the better your health during the day, this is really simple. Be mindful of good Feng Shui and do not buy used mattresses - you never know what energy they have accumulated from previous owners.

    3

Make sure the bed is a good height. To allow for a balanced Feng Shui energy flow under the bed, you need to have your bed at a reasonable height above the floor level. Generally, the beds that have built-in storage drawers underneath to help you with storage solutions are considered bad Feng Shui beds. Why? Because the energy needs to circulate around your body when you sleep, which is not possible if the space underneath the bed is blocked.

    4

    5

Have a good supporting wall behind your bed. In addition to a good headboard, you always want to have a solid wall behind your bed. When you sleep under the window, your personal energy tends to get weaker in time, as it has neither proper support, nor protection.

    6

    7

Keep your bed far away from any TVs, desks, or other distractions. Ideally, you should move your desk and television out of your bedroom, so the bedroom truly becomes a place where you can rest and relax. However, we all have limited space, so if you do have a television or a desk in your room, position it as far from your bed as possible to not get in the way of the bed's positive energy. If you can, drape a light scarf or blanket over the TV or desk, or even cover it up with a Japanese folding closet to create even more space.

    1

Avoid a mirror that faces your bed or a mirrored set of closet doors. If these mirrors are fixtures that you can't get rid of, then drape some fabric over them. Left exposed, they are thought to disturb your sleep. In general, you should avoid having mirrors in your bedroom, especially if you're sharing it with a romantic partner, because they may open up a space for infidelity. Mirrors are also too energetic for such a restful space.

    2

Refrain from positioning your bed directly under a beam. A beam may create feelings of pressure that can disrupt your sleep. If you have no other options, cover the beam with fabric or hang 2 bamboo flutes from the beam with the mouthpieces pointed downward. This will help block some of the unwanted energy coming from above the bed. The idea is that you don't want to feel threatened in your sleep.

    3

Skip fountains and water features. Also, don't hang up pictures of water or place an aquarium in your room. These could invite possible financial loss or robbery. Keep your fish tank or paintings of water or rivers out of the bedroom if you want to have the best possible Feng Shui.

    4

    5

Avoid accumulating clutter around your bed or pushing one side of your bed against a wall. The Chi can't circulate, which means possible disturbances in your intimate life. If your bed is up against a wall, then one partner will have to sleep on the inside, becoming literally "trapped" in the relationship.

    6

Get rid of your television. Television creates an unhealthy magnetic field which may disrupt your sleep, strain your relationship with your partner or bring a third party into the bedroom. If you have to keep it in the bedroom, then try to cover it with a scarf when you're not using it. If you're really serious about it, hide the TV in the closet when you're not using it, or place it on a shelf that can lock up, hiding the TV when it's not in use.

    7

    8

    1

    2

    3

    4

    1

    2

    3

Be aware of the position of the windows. If you can, try to avoid placing your bed between the window and a door, or you'll be in the middle of the "draught" of chi running between these two places. If you can't avoid it, just make sure you have nice, pleasant curtains to block some of the bad energy. You should also avoid sleeping facing the window, if you can, or your sleep won't be as restful.

    4

    5

Aim for equality. Try to have equal space on either side of your bed and other furniture. A person should be able to walk around as easily around one side of the room as the other, within reason. Of course, a piece of furniture may add some inequality, but in general, you should avoid letting most of the stuff in the bedroom clutter over to one side, or you'll create discord in your most important room.

    6

Get rid of clothes you no longer wear. Go through your closet and drawer and remove all of the clothes you haven't worn within the last year. Donate these clothes or pass them on to a friend or relative if they can still be worn. Even though you may not see the old clothes, keeping them in your bedroom may prevent you from embracing new opportunities.

    7

    8

Make sure your bedroom isn't too crowded. Keep your bedroom as spare and simple as possible. Don't add extra chairs, lamps, or pictures to your bedroom if you're not sure whether or not they are really necessary. The more stuff you have in there, the more difficult it may be to find balance.

    9

Get rid of any clutter. To have optimal Feng Shui in your bedroom, you have to get rid of any extra papers, trash, old trinkets, silly photos, useless gifts, or really just anything you don't really need in there. If you have too much sentimental attachment to some of the items, you can put them in storage or another room, but work on minimizing the stuff you really need in your bedroom. Having a spare and uncluttered bedroom will lead to an uncluttered and fulfilling life.

If I have two doors in my bedroom, can I put my bed in front of one of the doors?

    wikiHow Contributor

If you won't be using that door, then yes you can. Also, if your family is okay with it, you could consider getting the door removed.

I have two doors in my apartment and mainly use the back door as a front door, so which is my main door?

    wikiHow Contributor

The door that you actually use (in this case, your back door) should be treated as a "front door."

What can I place in a room to avoid negative energy from mirrors?

    wikiHow Contributor

Place the mirror so that it doesn't face your bed, such as placing it on the other side of the same wall that your bedhead rests against. You can hide the mirror as well, such as throwing a cloth over it or, if it's on a dressing stand, flipping it around to face the wall during sleep. Inside a closet door that gets shut is another good place for it.

My room is extremely small. How do I make the best of the small space with a queen-size bed?

    wikiHow Contributor

Avoid heavy frames. Go for a sleek headboard and foot board, or if you can, use the bed without either of those.

8 Steps to Feng Shui Your Bathroom | Care2 Healthy Living - July 3, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

By Erica Sofrina, author of Small Changes, Dynamic Results! Feng Shui for the Western World.

In many traditional Feng Shui books you will read that bathrooms are negative places that should be closed off and ignored. Part of the reason is that bathrooms used to be rather funky places- like out-houses, not anything like the beautiful spa-like bathrooms we enjoy in the west. My belief is that we should feel wonderful about every room in our home and make them inspiring places to be. Negative feelings about any part of it doesnt serve anyone.

One of the reasons bathrooms have gotten such a bad rap is because chi (energy) is akin to water which flows down and out pipes and drains. The goal of Feng Shui is to invite into our front door vibrant chi and encourage it to circulate evenly around the home. Drains and openings are areas where the chi can escape and bathrooms have lots of them.

On the next page, I will give you eight steps to create a wonderful, vibrant and uplifting bathroom that will rejuvenate your soul and support relaxation in the body.

Feng Shui 2015 | Feng Shui Office | Feng Shui Colors - June 24, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

For most of the time people study Feng Shui for their homes or offices. The topic of this article is a bit different. I would not tell you what constitutes a good Feng Shui home or office. Instead, I will teach you how to choose a Feng Shui hotel room. In other words, after reading this article, you would know how to select a hotel room with good Feng Shui when you are on vacation or business trip.

Does it really matter to find a Feng Shui hotel room? It depends. If you have just a short stay for one or two nights, the Feng Shui of the hotel room does not really matter. But if you have a long stay or you are having a business trip for an important business meeting, a good Feng Shui room could how to bring good luck.

Ace Hotel NYC guest room interior by Jeremy Pelley

If you studied my Feng Shui Master Class, you would know how to choose luckyfloor level. Even if you dont, here is a quick tip.

In 2014, the luckiest floor levels are those ending with 6, i.e. 6, 16, 26, 36, 46, etc. If possible, when you check in at the concierge, tell the hotel staff that you want a floor level ending with 6. Unless the hotel is really fully booked, usually the hotel staff would be able to fulfill your requirement.

There is one thing to note. We need to count the actual floor number. Sometimes the floor levels are not in simple 1, 2, 3, 4 sequence. Instead, the floor levels may be G, UG, Podium, L1, L2, etc. In Feng Shui, we count the real floor number only. So the ground level is 1/F, 2/F is one floor above, 3/F is next all the way to the highest floor. We do not skip unlucky floor numbers like 13. The 6, 16, 26, 36, floors here refer to the real floor number.

Now that the first requirement is met, it is time to examine the hotel room. Firstly, avoid choosing the last room in the corridor, i.e. the room at the dead end. We believe that the energy, a.k.a. Chi, needs to flow. The Chi at the end of a corridor is stagnant, so a room located there is usually not preferred.
