TAYLORSVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Monday afternoon it was quiet and calm at Ray Jewell Memorial Park in Taylorsville where, just days earlier, flood waters caused major problems for the Little League. All four baseball fields seem deserted, covered in water and layers of mud.
I didn't know the current was going to take over and blow all the fences down," said Little League vice president Chris Redmon.
Three days ago the entire park was covered in water. It washed away dirt from under the bases, removed a pitcher's mound and even carried off a port-a-potty.
"I mean we lost a lot of stuff it just floated away," said Redmon.
Corn and tobacco stalks fill the field and dugouts. Dirt, leaves and debris stuck in fences still standing, and a shed for baseball gear was moved off its foundation by the rushing water.
"It was about a foot into the concession stand," Redmon said.
A lot of food and drinks that were inside the concession stand will end up in the trash, and the overall damage is estimated around $60,000.
The current was so strong that it brought down a fence onto the new batting cages they're building and moved a picnic table more than 50 yards. One bench, which was supposed to be in a dugout, ended up on the other side of the diamond.
Opening day is supposed to be April 18, but 250 little leaguers like Mason Wright, 10, and Jacob Redmon, 8, will now have to wait.
"I really wanna play right now," said 10-year-old Mason Wright. "I like to see kids play and I like having friends."

Rising young jockey Sean Bowen secured the winner over fences that he needed at Haydock to allow him to make his debut in the Crabbies Grand National at Aintree next week.
The 17-year-old completed a 20-1 double on the day aboard Paul Nicholls 5-2 favourite Virak when winning the 888sport.com Handicap Chase by six lengths at Haydock Park. The win means the 5lb claimer - son of Welsh trainer Peter Bowen, who will saddle 2014 Scottish National winner Al Co at Aintree next week - has the requisite number of wins over fences to line-up in the worlds greatest steeplechase.
Time had been running out for Bowen, who needed a 10th win over the big obstacles to qualify to ride in the Aintree marathon. With no chase rides on Sunday and no jumps racing on Tuesday and Wednesday, the youngster would only have had Easter Monday to get the winner he needed had he not prevailed at Haydock.
Thankfully for Bowen, the wait is over and he will now be on board Nicholls Mon Parrain, who is a best-priced 50-1 for the National.
Bowen, who is battling for the conditional jockeys title and moved on to 36 winners for the season with his latest successes, said: It is absolutely massive for me to be able to ride in the Grand National, especially aged just 17. Thats whats given me the most buzz, more than the wins today.
It will be great to ride in the National, that was a target, but the main target is to go for the conditional jockeys title, though Nick (De Boinville) will be hard to beat.

I have been waiting for that for a while and now I have got it Mon Parrain will be give me a lovely spin in the National.
I was very getting very frustrated and Monday was the last day I could do it. So this was really my main day I could do it. I am glad I have.
He added: Mon Parrain has form over the fences and jumped around their fine. I schooled him yesterday and he schooled absolutely brilliantly. He is in fine form and hopefully he can give me a good spin over the National fences.

Young jockey Sean Bowen has claimed an important treble at Haydock taking his tally over fences to 10 which qualifies him to ride in the Grand National.
The 17-year-old will ride the Paul Nicholls-trained Mon Farrain in the world's most famous steeplechase next Sunday after his Haydock victory on Virak for the stable.
Bowen admitted he had been frustrated in his attempt to reach the standard but was now turning his attention to the National.
"I've been waiting for that for a while, but I'm glad I've got it and hopefully Mon Parrain will be a good spin in the National," Bowen said.
"I was very frustrated. Monday was the last day I could do it as Tuesday and Wednesday there are no jump meetings.
"Thanks to Paul for giving me the chances to ride these horses and it's great to get my 10 winners over fences.
"It will be great to ride in the National."
Nicholls will have four or five horses in the race.

A Note on Fair Use: These juxtaposed scenes create a new work of art that is stimulating and enriching for the general public. It is for nonprofit educational purposes. It allows viewers to contemplate the infinite possibilities for staging Wilson's written language by exploring some possibilities of what that language sounds like and looks like on stage/screen. The conversations this new work of art allows cannot happen without it; the whole of this new work elicits an academic conversation that is otherwise impossible as it allows us to explore Wilson's words. The difference between the brevity of individual clips used compared to the length of that work as a whole is so substantial that the potential market for the original commercial product is not diminished; on the other hand, this new work of art opens up the market to new customers that may have otherwise not known of the original film/play. Thus, this new work of art is protected under both Fair Use, initially indicated as "comment, teaching, scholarship, and research" under Title 17, Section 107, but substantiated by the points above.

Teamwork helps mend burnt SW fences
MORE than 115km of fencing will be replaced following February's devastating Northcliffe bushfire, thanks to teamwork by representatives of affected landowners, Manjimup Shire Council, businesses and community groups.
Fencing was affected on 92 rural properties across 56 holdings in the area scorched by the conflagration - becoming known locally as the O'Sullivan bushfire for where it was ignited by lightning.
"The logistics around dismantling and reinstating fencing, including the sourcing of material, has been one of the priorities for the business continuity sub-committee during the recovery phase," shire president Wade DeCampo said.
After two meetings between relevant parties, Southern Wire has proposed to provide fencing materials and resources at a reduced cost. Additionally, volunteer organisation Blazeaid has set up at the Northcliffe Recreation Centre and will help rebuild fences.
Other community groups helping out include Bunbury Men's Shed and Manjimup Lions Club.
"We're anticipating there will be volunteers in the region for up to three months, depending on the number of landowners who take up the initiative and the number of volunteers that come forward," Cr DeCampo said.
"Again, our region is being blessed with the kindness of volunteers who were instrumental during the fire and are proving to be the same in the recovery phase."
To register as a volunteer or inquire about fencing assistance, contact Brian Carr at north cliffe.blazeaid@gmail.com or on 0488 642 579, or Cedric Bettley from Bunbury Men's Shed on 0419 940 381.
Landowners who want to check their eligibility for reduced-cost fencing can contact shire recovery coordinator Paul Bawden at paul.bawden@manji mup.wa.gov.au or on 9771 7777.
