Reditch 16.3 hh 2008 CWHBA gelding by Rocks/Urymate de Ste Hermelle/Wodan
Reditch is schooling fences September 2012 with a young rider. Reditch is a bold forward horse to the fences with a lovely rhythm to his canter. He is developing his changes and has been schooled with a pro ride to 1.10+ m. He has been to his first show at RMSJ where he did the 0.75 and 0.85 m classes with a 15 year old rider. He has been chute jumped to 1.20 m with ease. Reditch is a great jumper type with size and substance. He has had solid basics and excellent fundamentals for future success in the jumper ring! A wonderful horse for the future!From:YVSportHorsesViews:0 0ratingsTime:04:42More inPets Animals

Betfair. Don't Settle For Less Novices' Chase 2m 6f - November 24, 2012 by Mr HomeBuilder

    Verdict

POUNGACH took a heavy fall after slipping on landing when making his chasing debut at Chepstow and was very careful at his fences on his next start at Wincanton. He will have learnt plenty from that latter run and looks the type to go on to better things. Gullinbursti and Knock A Hand fought out the finish of a handicap hurdle at Newbury in February with the latter just prevailing. Both have had just the one run over fences with the former doing the better of the pair but there's likely to be little between them again. Super Duty, a lightly raced and promising type over timber, was expected to make a winning start over fences at Carlisle but found Bury Parade too good. With that under his belt he can provide the main threat though neither of the remaining pair can be dismissed.

Poungach (FR) 7-4fav (11-2) Led until 6th, not fluent 11th, outpaced approaching 3 out, rallied and edged right flat, kept on well towards finish, went 2nd post, no impression on winner, 2nd of 8, 4 1/2l behind Houblon Des Obeaux (11-6) at Wincanton 2m 5f nov chs Grade 2 (1) gs.

Super Duty (IRE) 11-10fav (11-2) Led or disputed lead to after 5th, pressed winner, ridden and every chance 2 out, kept on, held flat, 2nd of 10, 2l behind Bury Parade (10-13) at Carlisle 2m beg chs (4) sft in Oct.

Safran De Cotte (FR) 9-2 (11-3) Held up mid-division, hit 6th, headway 5 out, chased leader after 2 out, led last, kept on well, won at Stratford 2m 7f Beginners Chase (0-125) (4yo+) (3) sft beating Godsmejudge (11-3) by 3l, 11 ran.

Knock A Hand (IRE) 6-4fav (11-4) Prominent in chasing group, ridden before 13th, soon outpaced, struggling and no chance from next, 4th of 6, 31l behind Masters Hill (11-4) at Chepstow 3m nov chs (4) gs in Oct.

Gullinbursti (IRE) 7-2 (11-4) Disputed lead until went on before 11th, headed narrowly before 4 out when not fluent, kept on same pace, no impression in clear 3rd from 2 out, 3rd of 10, 9l behind Harry Topper (11-4) at Exeter 3m beg chs (4) gs in Oct.

Tenor Nivernais (FR) 50-1 (10-11) Behind, struggling 9th, never near leaders, 9th of 21, 27l behind Cape Tribulation (11-12) at Aintree 3m hcp hdl Grade 3 (1) gs in Apr.

Alpbach Talks – Falling Fences: Are there any Boundaries the Press Must Not Cross? - November 24, 2012 by Mr HomeBuilder

Jeta Xharra, is this years winner of the Dr. Erhard Busek SEEMO Award for Better Understanding in South East Europe. She was awarded the price for her work at the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN). In 2005 Xharra started as director of the network with only two other people. Now, a crew of 70 is producing TV-shows, the only English language newspaper "Pristina Insight" and the online investigative portal "Gazeta Jeta n Kosov". According to the SEEMO-jury her TV-show "Life in Kosovo" has pushed the boundaries of debate, holding authorities to account and opening discussion on previously-taboo subjects". The "Wiener Zeitung" talked to her about the future of journalism:

How far do you think journalism should push existing boundaries?

Looking at journalism in the developed world today, it seems quite a challenge just to make sure this profession does not corrupt itself with falsehood, distortion and propaganda. The tight deadlines journalists have to chase in an internet-driven world, the media dependency on dwindling business advertisements and the tendency not to check or double check information is a cancer. So, even without pushing the boundaries, whatever that means, journalism will be fine if it does what is supposed to do, tell the truth.

When did you decide you wanted to go into journalism?

I suppose most good journalism is rooted on some form of defiance, readiness to contend or resist authority, and mine matured in the 90s growing up in a Milosevic-militarily-ruled Kosovo. I went to a school in Pristina where in 1992 Albanian students like myself were kicked out and it became a school only for Serbian students. Similarly, my mother who had worked all her life lost her civil servant job because of her ethnicity. It became clear we were living in an apartheid type system. So when in 1998 the BBC crew came to Kosovo to cover the war, I was 19 and jumped on the opportunity to become a translator for them hoping that if I help the foreign cameras see what is going on in Kosovo, the world might do something about it.

Do you have any journalistic role models?

There are plenty of good role models out there from different national backgrounds and what they have in common is that they are good investigative journalists. My role models, Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward from Washington Post, in 1974 forced US President Richard Nixon to resign. It is a fascinating idea to know that two reporters armed with nothing more than their pens and notebooks could bring down the most powerful man in the world because he was corrupt. The other role model comes from Russia. Anna Politkovskayas investigative articles about the war in Chechnya were remarkably brave. The current affairs program "Jeta n Kosov" I am anchoring is based very much on Western models of journalism I watched a lot of BBC Newsnight and was inspired by Jeremy Paxman, a journalist who persistently asked a British minister 12 times the same question because he was not getting an answer. Good journalism which means, well researched, trusted, non-compromised and with verified information is needed everywhere.

Pet Talk: Fences for Fido provides early holiday gifts for unchained dogs - November 24, 2012 by Mr HomeBuilder

Throughout blustery November and December, a group of 25 dog lovers have made their lists, and theyll be checking them twice.

During the evenings after work and on the weekends through the winter months, volunteers with Fences for Fido will brave the elements to distribute holiday gifts to 267 dogs and their owners.

Since the nonprofit first began in May 2009, the volunteer-based organization has helped unchain more than 430 dogs in Oregon and Washington by building fences and insulated dog houses for dogs that live outdoors. By this time next year, they expect to have helped more than 600 dogs.

Each year, the volunteer-based group conducts seasonal spritzers, an annual visit that allows volunteers to check up on the dogs they have unchained and offer a care package to the dogs owners.

They provided a similar welfare check earlier this year during a spring and summer spritzer.

This is our commitment, says Kelly Peterson, the groups co-founder and co-chair. Our promise is that we dont build a fence and then walk away after the fence is built.

During their visits, volunteers will make sure that the fences they built are still intact, the doghouse contains a bed, the dog has sufficient water and seems to be healthy.

Theyll take notes and gauge whether a follow-up visit is needed for instance, if a dog is chained again, or if the doghouse has moisture underneath and needs to be repositioned.

Each volunteer will take on up to 10 homes, delivering bags full of flea medication, treats, winter care tips and bedding. Theyll also help connect the owner with veterinary care, spay/neuter surgeries and dog food if needed.

Joanie McMillan, who is participating in the winter spritzer, has been volunteering with Fences for Fido since January 2010 after reading about the organization in The Oregonian.

Prince of Persia in Minecraft – Video - November 22, 2012 by Mr HomeBuilder

    Prince of Persia in Minecraft
I #39;ve replicated the first level of the original Prince of Persia (1989) game in Minecraft as accurate as I could. There are no fences, because they would require redstone circuitry, I #39;m not a redstone expert, ๐Ÿ˜› and I don #39;t want redstone wires all around the course. Also no falling blocks, and spike traps are replaced with fire. I #39;ve added some sound effects to make it more familiar. ๐Ÿ™‚ If you don #39;t know this game, you can download it from the links below, along with a DOS emulator that lets you play it on modern computers. oscomp.hu http://www.dosbox.comFrom:kemi242Views:10 0ratingsTime:02:13More inGaming
