LAMOURE, N.D. A car chase here took authorities down gravel roads and through fences and fields Wednesday.
WDAY-TV reported the incident as a four-car chase with two vehicles being totaled.
The cars ended up taking out a fence, driving through two plowed fields. The vehicles then returned to the road, only to drive through a gate and then through a pasture, where the suspects vehicle eventually got stuck.
Police arrested the driver of the vehicle, 30-year-old Joshua McCleary, of Dickey. LaMoure Police Chief Ian Mattice chased McCleary with the help of state patrol and a LaMoure sheriffs deputy.
McCleary is charged with driving under the influence and fleeing. Police say they also found meth in his vehicle. During the arrest, Mattice said McCleary spit on him, so he faces a charge of contact of bodily fluids.
The officers involved suffered minor injuries.

Verdict
Sue Smith won this last year and No Planning, who was having just his second start over fences when touched off by Buck Mulligan at Sedgefield, will have been primed to complete the stable double. But RED ROCCO, a consistent and progressive type over timber, looked a real staying type over fences when runner-up to Highland Lodge on his chasing debut at Towcester and with more to offer looks the one to beat, though Same Difference was only half-a-length behind him that day and is an obvious threat. Fentara was also making his debut over fences when a close third to Aland Islands over 2m4f here last month and with the longer trip sure to suit should get involved. Dark Glacier made too many mistakes on his chasing bow at Carlisle while Triptico was a long way behind Same Difference over timber at Ffos Las in April.
Triptico (FR) 9-2 (11-2) Held up in rear, headway before 3 out, chased winner 2 out, kept on and no impression, 2nd of 6, 4 1/2l behind Kruzhlinin (11-2) at Carlisle 2m Beginners Chase (0-125) (4yo+) (3) hvy in Nov.
Red Rocco (IRE) 14-1 (11-0) Chased winner throughout, awkward at 9th, slight peck 4 out, ridden and no impression before 2 out, 2nd of 6, 5l behind Highland Lodge (11-3) at Towcester 3m Beginners Chase (0-140) (4yo+) (3) gs in Nov.
Fentara 10-1 (10-5) Held up mid-division on inner, headway 10th, ridden before 3 out, kept on, 3rd of 11, 6l behind Aland Islands (11-1) at Newcastle 2m 4f nov chs (4) gs in Nov.
No Planning 10-3 (11-2) Tracked leaders, mistake 2nd, not fluent next, led 10th, headed when not fluent last, always just held after, stayed on, 2nd of 9, nk behind Buck Mulligan (11-6) at Sedgefield 2m 4f hcp chs 0-140 (3) gs in Nov.
Same Difference (IRE) 11-4 (11-3) In touch, ridden in 4th after 3 out, stayed on from 2 out, went 3rd 2 out, stayed on same pace, 3rd of 6, 6l behind Highland Lodge (11-3) at Towcester 3m Beginners Chase (0-140) (4yo+) (3) gs in Nov.
Netminder (IRE) 12-1 (11-1) In rear, steady headway from 4 out, kept on from 2 out, no impression, 6th of 11, 20l behind Aland Islands (11-1) at Newcastle 2m 4f nov chs (4) gs in Nov.
Dark Glacier (IRE) 15-2 (11-4) Chased leaders, lost place 3rd, soon towards rear, beaten 5 out, 5th of 7, well behind Rival D'estruval (11-4) at Carlisle 2m 4f nov chs (4) hvy in Oct.

Students and faculty living and working along Anderson Street received a welcome surprise Thursday when the fences surrounding the road, which has been under construction since August, were removed, giving pedestrians access to the street.
The removal of the fences comes days before the Saturday, Dec. 1 deadline outlined by associate vice president for Facilities Dick Vance. Although, Vance admits that the date was never something that was set in stone and that it had been somewhat arbitrary.
Rob Harper, assistant director of Facilities, agreed that the Dec. 1 date was not an accurate representation of how and when Anderson Street would be opened to the public. According to Harper, this first step of removing the fences will open the street to pedestrian traffic, whereas vehicle traffic will be allowed starting Dec. 10.
There are still some odds and ends to complete, Harper said.
Senior Phillip Gray, a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity, was still pleased to see the street outside his fraternity open to pedestrians.
I guess a lot of us were wondering when the fences would be taken down, he said. Theyve been up way too long I havent seen much construction done to the sidewalks in the last few weeks.
A short description on the DePauw Anderson Street webpage describes the Anderson Street project as being one of several that share a common goal in drawing a closer connection between the campus and the community. Harper said he believes wholeheartedly that the new Anderson Street can lead to this connection and has in fact already drawn Greencastle and DePauw closer together. The project has even be partially funded by Greencastle through the Stellar Communities Grant.
The project was run by the city with our coordination, and weve built a pretty good connection with the city, Harper said. Ive heard that everyones excited for the new look. The vision from President Casey has always been a pedestrian campus, and I think the renovations will invite people to take a walk down the street.
Gray believes that despite the inconvenience of construction this past semester, the ends justify the means.
The beautification of campus has come a long way since I was a freshman, Gray said. It makes it more pleasurable walking out of Beta and seeing tree-lined streets. It was less than a semester of construction in the long run it will be worth the inconvenience. The trees will grow, and it will last a really long time.

Kochi, Dec 1 (IANS) Italy and Kerala, going through a diplomatic chill over two Italian marines shooting dead two Indian fishermen in the high seas in February, are mending fences via art at the Kochi-Muziris Art Biennale 2012.
The biennale "will help India become the cultural face of art from all over the world, growing out of the narrow bilateral confines to forge a greater global understanding of cultural sensitivities", leading Italian social and multimedia artist Giuseppe Stampone told IANS.
"The biennale is a huge representation of artists coming from all over the world to Kochi to develop site-specific interactive art. The artists will gather an impression of India and the country needs to support this biennale.
"If it starts off well, out of the biennale will emerge a scope of a culture and of a nation more representative," the 39-year-old artist said in an interview.
Stampone, who is in the coastal Kerala city with an art intervention project, is funding his own work.
The multimedia bilingual installation - 'Uttam Duniya' in Hindi and 'Il Mundo Perfecto (The Perfect World)' in Italian - uses sights, sounds and smells of his immediate environs to comment on the globalisation of media, information and education based on messages received from transformational cultures across the world.
Stampone said the site-specific project incorporated a mosaic of images of rickshaws, billboards, texts and maps to present a changing India through a visitor's eyes.
The artist, who has been a biennale regular for a decade, believes that the "decentralisation of art from the traditional hubs in Europe and US to the emerging cities in the developing world presents the new globalised face of art".
"I have participated in the new biennales in Cuba, Sao Paolo, Liverpool and Gwangju and now India. The old biennales like the ones in Venice are like museums exhibits -- they live in their own historic formula. Europe is history. The new biennales are all happening in the new emerging world," he said.
The big biennales are capitalist with big institutions and big names without opportunities to move beyond institutional art, said Stampone, who exhibited an interactive "art in environment and education" installation at Venice last year.

VLOMO2012 - Day 29 - School or Prison
A fun game we like to play when driving across the US is "School or Prison?" in which we try to guess if a distant institutional structure is a school or a prison (or both). It #39;s often hard to tell until you get right up close. I often get fooled by the guard towers and electric fences and think it #39;s a prison.From:apperceptionsViews:3 0ratingsTime:00:28More inPeople Blogs
