Verdict
Duaiseoir hasn't taken to fences and is best watched after refusing twice in a row. Valid Point won four times here over hurdles and this looks a lot easier than the novice chase he contested at Uttoxeter in November. But he didn't jump very well and hasn't been seen since. HEADLY'S BRIDGE won a novices' handicap by 19 lengths on his debut over the larger obstacles. He looks a natural over fences and has to be backed to double his tally here, despite carrying a penalty. Ata Boy has yet to show much ability in either bumpers or hurdles.
Headly's Bridge (IRE) 14-1 (11-2) Held up in touch, headway 9th, chased leaders in 3rd next, led 3 out, over 1 length ahead and going strongly when left clear 2 out, very easily, won at Newbury 2m 2f nov hcp chs (0-125) (3) hvy beating Smart Money (10-10) by 19l, 8 ran.

CLEARWATER, FLA. By the end of business Thursday, there was little talk of the Phillies 6-2 win against the visiting split-squad Yankees.
Instead, the conversation focused on an apparent rift between manager Ryne Sandberg and his shortstop, Jimmy Rollins.
It began Tuesday with Rollins telling a Philadelphia Daily News reporter who cares? when the subject of spring training statistics came up. When the season starts, thats when results matter. There really is no other way to put it. No one talks about preseason in June. ... No one does.
Sandberg interpreted Rollins comments as not caring about spring training. Rollins, coincidentally, did not play Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
I wanted him to clarify that because I wanted to make sure that he cared, Sandberg said Thursday. And I wanted to make sure -- I know that everyone else in the locker room cared. So when he told me about what he was talking about, it made sense.
Rollins said that on Tuesday morning as he was preparing to come to work and get on the bus bound for the Phillies road game against the Braves, someone in the clubhouse called him to say Freddy Galvis would be starting instead.
Obviously [Sandberg]s upset about something, Rollins said Thursday before talking to Sandberg later in the day. That doesnt mean its over the course of spring training, it could have been one specific incident. But hes upset about it. Thats something when hes ready, hell let me know.
Sandberg initially said Rollins did not play because he was getting over the flu, a diagnosis Rollins confirmed. The manager also said he wanted to see more of Galvis at shortstop. But then he gave a no comment when asked about Rollins positivity and energy.
On Thursday, Sandberg backtracked.
You know, I would liked to have not said that and expand on what Jimmy has to offer and what he means to the ballclub, Sandberg said.

SALT LAKE CITY Ruth has big holes in the vinyl fencing along her property line. But, for now, she says it's not worth fixing.
"We have apparently some teenagers who like to run into the fence and break 'em. They've been back three or four times and just like to bash into the fence. I can hear them when they come. It just seems like they like to run and cause some damage," she said Tuesday. She asked that her last name not be used.
Since November, Salt Lake police have received 10 reports of vinyl fences being damaged. All of the incidents have been on the east side.
Investigators don't know if the same person or group has been involved in each incident. But detective Greg Wilking said the belief is that juveniles are throwing their bodies into the fences and crashing through them.
"What it looks like is people just running into the fence purely to cause property damage," he said. "No tire tracks, physically nothing left behind. It pretty much has to be somebody using their body to knock down the fence."
The incidents tapered off during the winter months.
"They didn't want to be inconvenienced by slipping on any ice when bashing in my fence," quipped Ruth.
But as spring and summer approach, police are warning residents to be on the lookout for a possible increase in such vandalism.
Ruth, who lives off Foothill Boulevard near 1300 South, said vandals have damaged her fence mostly around 11:30 p.m. She replaced a vinyl panel the first time it was damaged. But after several panels were destroyed the second time, she decided to wait until someone is arrested before repairing it, or until those responsible realize "it's not that fun to come and ruin someone else's property."
"It's mostly the worry of, first of all, why do kids have to damage people's property to have fun? And what else might they do? And where do their parents think they are at 11:30 at night? If it were my child doing it, I would be very unhappy. I'm sure that these parents have no idea what their kids are doing," she said.

COLUMBIA, S.C. - University of South Carolina junior Alexa Anthony has been named Rider of the Month by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association, it was announced today. Anthony, one of four national riders of the month, picked up the honor in equitation over fences. This is her first NCEA Rider of the Month award, and it comes two weeks after she was named SEC Rider of the Month in equitation over fences.
Anthony posted a 3-0 jumping record for the Gamecocks last month while posting the highest score in all three of her rides, along with earning MVP honors in each meet.
In South Carolina's 12-8 win at New Mexico State on Feb. 1, Anthony defeated her Aggie opponent, 87-83, while earning MVP honors. One week later in the Gamecocks' 10-9 win over Georgia, Anthony again won MVP honors, knocking off her Bulldog opponent, 87-86. She closed out the month at home against Texas A&M, completing her perfect month with an 88-78 win while winning her third straight MVP.
Two weeks ago, Anthony was named SEC Rider of the Month in equitation over fences, her first ever conference rider of the month award. This year, Anthony is 12-6-5 overall with five MVPs. She has not lost a point in her last eight rides, the longest active undefeated streak on the team.

Japan's Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Akitaka Saiki (R) shakes hands with his South Korean counterpart Cho Tae-yong before their meeting at the Foreign Ministry in Seoul on March 12, 2014.
Senior South Korean and Japanese officials have renewed efforts to mend Seoul-Tokyo ties in an attempt to reduce tensionsacross the troubled Asia-Pacific region.
Japanese Vice Foreign Minister Akitaka Saiki held talks with his South Korean counterpart Cho Tae-yong in Seoul on Wednesday.
Japanese sources say Saiki was to use the meeting to propose a trilateral summit between leaders of Japan, South Korea and the US later this month.
However, there has been no official response by Seoul to the reported offer.
The neighbors have not held high-level talks since December, when Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited a Tokyo shrine that honors several war criminals.
Abe became the first Japanese premier in seven years to pay his respects at Yasukuni Shrine, where Japanese veterans are buried. Some Japanese officials convicted of committing war crimes during World War II are also buried at the site.
Reacting to the controversial visit, South Korean President Park Geun-hye has recently refused to meet with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo. Seouls parliament has also passed a resolution denouncing Japanese prime minister's visit to a controversial war shrine.
South Korea and China have criticized the move, calling it a symbol of Tokyos militarism and aggression.
Senior Chinese officials also say Japanese prime ministers visit to Yasukuni war shrine was "by no means a domestic affair of Japan" and reflects the attitude of his government toward the countrys colonial rule in the past.
