Home Depot Online, the website for the mega-retailer The Home Depot, has added a new closet and garage organizer system to its list of products. EZ SHELF, expandable closet organizers and garage organizers, offer many benefits over other shelving systems, including ease of installation, strength, durability, versatility, maintenance, appearance and cost.
EZ SHELF is the only closet and garage shelving system that expands to fit any space, said David Jablow, president of the company. Our expandability allows for installation with no cutting and no drilling. As EZ SHELF includes self-drilling drywall anchors, our products can be installed with just a screwdriver by novices and professionals in less than the time of other shelving systems.
Unlike other DIY closet organizer systems, EZ SHELF is made out of high strength telescopic steel tubes and injection molded brackets which can easily hold 200 pounds without securing to a stud. Included with all EZ SHELF products are Toggler Snapskru Self-Drilling Drywall Anchors that are the strongest anchors on the market. Other competitive closet and garage systems hold as little as 60 lbs., have up to double the amount of pieces, require cutting and drilling, and have insufficient anchors.
EZ SHELF installation time averages less than 20 minutes per shelf (with some being installed in as little as 10 minutes per shelf) and can be completed by a single individual. Instead of measuring the closet and then cutting the shelf to fit like most wire shelving systems, each EZ SHELF tube expands to the desired length and snaps into special tube brackets included with the kit. Center supports are included, which provide additional strength and prevent any potential sagging. End brackets are also available for joining two shelves together (for making extra-long shelves) or for attaching to the back-wall for easy corners.
Consumers and contractors across the USA have given EZ Shelf products fantastic reviews, including:
So Easy! The EZ SHELF was very easy to assemble and should hold up for a lifetimewe are very happy! Gary, New York, NY
Great Product! Expandability, flexibility and style. Super easy to install. My wife loves them!! Joseph Clayton, NC
Wow! The best closet organizer- fast and easy to install. A great deal! I give it an excellent rating! Robert Leandear, Texas
Besides a reach-in and walk-in closet, EZ SHELF products sold on Home Depot Online can be used in laundry rooms, garages, home offices, basements, attics, pantries and tool sheds; they can also be used in commercial applications for computer rooms, printer shelves, general office storage, and kitchen and warehouse shelving. The modular design allows shelves to be easily connected to each other for extra-long shelves, making them especially useful for garage shelving and garage organizers.

2013 Fred Case Entrepreneur of the Year Nick Richmond Launches Matrix Manufacturing, USA
Nick Richmond and Brian Barrick recently launched their second entrepreneurial endeavor, Matrix Manufacturing, USA. Nick Richmond and Brian Barrick recently launched their second entrepreneurial endeavor, Matrix Manufacturing, USA. They founded Matrix Basement Systems in 2009, and helped it grow into the Midwests leading provider of basement finishing systems. Matrix Basement Systems, Inc. has now served more than 1,000 Chicagoland and Detroit residents.
I identified a new market opportunity where I believed Matrix could expand into manufacturing MgO-Based products (Magnesium Oxide) and quickly succeed. MgO-Board has become an incredibly popular construction material because its far superior to drywall, it is both resistant to fire and impervious to water damage, it is immune to insects, completely repels mold and mildew, and it does not contain harmful-to-breathe Silica dust. This makes it perfect for contractors, consumers, and businesses to install, said Richmond.
Besides these benefits, MgO-Board is eco-friendly, too. Contractors will also like the fact that the double-sided SIP wall panels, made of MgO, install quickly, reducing labor costs. And, SIP panels have high energy-efficiency and a seamless appearance, which consumers love. MgO SIP panels work best for basements, and MgO-Board can be used for interior and exterior wall applications, kitchens, bathrooms, tile backer, foyers, fascias, soffits, and subflooring.
Matrix Manufacturing, USA is now producing Tyroc Subflooring, which acts as underlayment for tile, laminate, vinyl planking, tiles, and hardwood flooring. Tyroc Subflooring offers a high resistance to moisture, sound, and heat. The company also offers a Panel Lamination service that allows customers to provide their own materials for lamination.
We have the largest inventory of MgO in the Midwest and the fastest shipping times, added Vice President, Brian Barrick.
In addition to manufacturing, Matrix also offers Remodelers and Entrepreneurs a Business-in-a-Box Dealer program. Dealers will learn sales and marketing strategies, trade secrets for generating high profits, and expert installation techniques for basement construction applications. The Matrix Basements Authorized Dealer Program provides dealers the tools they need to market their products and attract quality leads, so they can quickly get their businesses off the ground and operating successfully.
Contractors interested in purchasing MgO-Based Basement SIPs or Tyroc Subflooring products, and construction professionals who would like to start their own businesses selling and installing these products should contact Matrix Manufacturing by phone at 888.322.5200, e-mailing tmiller@matrixmfgusa.com, or by visiting http://www.matrixmfgusa.com.
About Matrix Based in Arlington Heights, Illinois, Matrix Manufacturing, USA is the latest innovation of successful entrepreneurs Nick Richmond and Brian Barrick. This aggressive business team currently owns and operates Matrix Basement Systems, Inc., Matrix Basement Finishing System, and Matrix Manufacturing, USA. Matrix Basement Systems is now the largest basement finishing contractor in the Midwest. Matrix Manufacturing is the Midwests biggest producer of Basement SIPS, MgO-Board, Tyroc Subflooring, and Panel Lamination services. With more than 100 employees spread across multiple locations in Illinois and Michigan, Matrix Manufacturing, USA will be a leader in the construction industry, and the basement finishing industry for years to come.

Pistachios are already a key ingredient in Turkish baklava, but the country may now have found a new way to exploit the nuts known as "green gold"by using their shells to heat a new eco-city.
Officials are currently examining plans to build the country's first ecological city with buildings both private and public heated by burning pistachio shells.
And there can be few better locations for such a project than Gaziantepthe south-eastern region close to the Syrian border which produces thousands of tonnes of the nut every year.
"Gaziantep's potential in pistachio production is known, as well as its considerable amount of pistachio shells waste," said Seda Muftuoglu Gulec, a green building expert for the municipality.
"We are planning to obtain biogas, a kind of renewable energy, from burning pistachio shells," Gulec told AFP.
"We thought the ecological city could be heated by burning pistachio shells because when you plan such environment-friendly systems, you take a look at natural resources you have," she said.
"If the region was abundant in wind power, we would utilise wind energy."
The pistachio-heated new city would encompass 3,200 hectares, and house 200,000 people. It would be located 11 kilometres (6 miles) from the province's capital city, also named Gaziantep.
"Imagine it just like a separate city," Gulec said.

HINSDALE Convening Mondays District 181 Committee of the Whole meeting at Hinsdale Middle School was fitting, as it marked the day the schools mold endeavor was nearly over.
Its awesome that our schedule had us here at Hinsdale Middle School because our focus over spring break was a lot of construction that occurred, Superintendent Renee Schuster said. It was quite a dramatic change from right before spring break.
Work to eradicate mold found at the school was completed in late January, and students returned to the building during the first week of February.
Here are the top five tasks that SERVPRO, a company hired by the district in January to handle most of the mold eradication, undertook from March 29 to April 6 to finish the process.
1. Installed a new control system on the HVAC air handlers to better monitor temperature and fresh air exchange
2. Finished sanding the drywall
3. Baseboard installation
4. Painting
5. Floor tile installed in Room 212
The Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations Gary Frisch said a tremendous amount of work was accomplished at Hinsdale Middle School during spring break with the exception of some tile put down by SERVPRO that needs to be sealed and waxed.

Dean Taylor says he sees it all the time. Homeowners realize they aren't using the whirlpool tub that came with their house and decide to rip it out, replacing it with a larger, updated shower.
That's exactly the project his company, Custom Remodeling by Dean Taylor, of Davenport, did for Don and Linda Barchman.
Thecouple found thatwhen they did use their whirlpool, it was a "water hog," drainingthe water heater. Meanwhile, the one-piece acrylic shower unit theyused every day was difficult tokeep clean, and the door didn't close properly.
After visiting a friend's house with a walk-in showerthat they liked, theBarchmans, of Davenport, decided to get bids for abathroom makeover.
The workincluded tearing out thethe tub andshowerand replacing them with one large shower featuring tile on the floors, ceiling and walls, a corner bench with three niches forshower supplies, and a stationary shower head as well as ahand-held spray.
Taylor says people like hand-helds because they can use them to clean the shower as well as themselves.
The Barchmans also had an all-glass door installed. The shower would have been OK without one in terms ofwater drainage, but it helps keep warmth around the user, Linda said.Because it is all-glass, thereis no metal orrubber seal to get grubby.
Homeowners considering a similar project should anticipate acost of at least $10,000 and on up, Linda said. Drywall installation, tile work and rerouting plumbing and electrical service for the lights and exhaust fan all add up.
"There's alwaysmore to it than what a lot of homeowners think," Taylor said.
Another part of the Barchmanproject was the installation of a pocket door to the bathroom itself, replacing a regular door they didn't use very much and that was in the way when they did.The pocket door is tucked into the wall, but it's available on those rare occasions when the Barchmans want to use it.
