Is Target Hitting a Top With Earnings on Deck? – TheStreet - August 20, 2020 by Mr HomeBuilder

Target (TGT) - Get Reportshares were down almost 2% on Tuesday, struggling against a broader market that was trading flat on the day.

The decline comes a day after the stock hit a new all-time high and as retail stocks begin to report earnings. For Target, the company is scheduled to report earnings on Wednesday before the open, along with Lowes (LOW) - Get Report.

Weighing on Target on Tuesday is the post-earnings dip were seeing in Home Depot (HD) - Get Reportand Walmart (WMT) - Get Reportdespite better-than-expected results.

Better known as a sell the news event, these names are dipping after a strong rally ahead of solid results. Now the fear with Target is that the same thing will happen Wednesday.

Will this quarter mark the high for Target stock? It may top temporarily near current levels, but I dont expect this name to be down forever - if its down at all.

    Daily chart of Target stock.

    Chart courtesy of Stockcharts.com

The price action in this name has been beautiful, technically speaking. The sharp rise off the March and April low resulted in a multi-month wedge pattern from May through July (blue lines).

With Target doing well amid the pandemic and likely doing well in the most recent quarter shares ultimately resolved to the upside. Unlike many stocks, Target topped in December 2019, not in February 2020.

In August, shares broke out over those prior highs near $127.50, then pulled back that mark and held it as support. Resistance turning to support is textbook bullish price action.

Target stock has been a strong run recently, coming with pennies of the 123.6% extension at $138.05. On earnings, I want to see if shares can clear and close above this mark, putting the 138.2% extension in play at $143.77. Above that and a longer-term price target of $153 can be used, which is the 161.8% extension.

On a decline, bulls may consider buying the dip on a decline to the 20-day moving average and/or the prior highs near $127.50.

With Tuesdays dip, Target stock is working off some of its overbought condition. Even with the decline though, shares are still up more than 11% over the last few weeks, and coming into Tuesday, had risen in 12 of the prior 15 trading sessions.

Lets see how shares handle earnings from here. A dip isn't the end of the world.

Below Deck Med’s Alex Radcliffe Reacts to Andy Cohen’s "Little Crush" on Him – Bravo - August 20, 2020 by Mr HomeBuilder

Alex Radcliffe left quite the impression on Andy Cohen during his appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen: @ Home on July 6.

After Alex revealed that he was wearing a shirt featuring Andy and his own face Photoshopped onto the body of the WWHL host's real BFF John Mayer that had "best friends" written across it, Andy admitted that he was "getting a little crush" on the Below Deck Mediterranean deckhand during that episode's After Show (clip above).

Of course, Alex took that as the utmost compliment when The Daily Dish caught up with him over the phone on July 15. "I wasnt surprised after the shirt I had on and us kind of bantering back and forth," Alex said abouthearing Andy was "getting a little crush" on him. "I was flattered."

Alex said his WWHL: @ Home debut with fellowBelow Deck Medcrew member Hindrigo "Kiko" Lorrancouldn't have gone any better. "I had a blast. I had a good time," he recalled. "I think we just joked around the whole time. It was fun, though."

Alex said that he was glad to see his T-shirt was such a hit with Andy. "I was trying to tell Andy, me and him are like gonna be best friends, so might as well make a shirt," Alex explained. "So, I think were working towards that right now, definitely after that episode."

"I think were on the verge of being best friends," Alex added.

Magic: The Gathering – General Strategies for Playing With Control Decks – CBR – Comic Book Resources - July 1, 2020 by Mr HomeBuilder

In Magic: The Gathering, control decks are reactive and favor the long game. Here are some tips for winning with a control deck.

InMagic: The Gathering, there are several broad strategic archetypes, including aggro, midrange, tempo, combo and control. And while the lattermost of those may be the slowest, it's perhaps the strongest. Control decks are usually centered around Blue mana, which in turn is rooted in counterspells, altering time, seeing into the future, and crafting elaborate plans. This makes Blue tailor-made for control deck shells, and White and Black make for excellent support, with Red or Green sometimes joining in the fun.

Here are some tips for making the most of a control deck.

RELATED: Magic: The Gathering Officially Bans Racist Cards

Blue will likely be your central color, and it gives you counterspells, card draw spells and effects,as well asa few finishers. Two-mana counterspells are vital, with Mana Leak, Remand and the classic Counterspell being staples. Some three-mana counterspells might also be used, such as Dissolve (scry 1) and Render Silent, which also costs White mana but can preventopponentsfrom casting any further spells that turn. Absorb also adds White mana to Blue in its cost, allowing players togain 3 life in the process.Sideboards may contain more specific counterspells, such as Counterflux for control mirrors (it can't be countered), Spell Snare (counters 2-drop spells) and Dispel (counters any instant for just one Blue mana). Manaless counterspells like Force of Negation in Modern or Force of Will in Legacy will also work.

Removal spells for control are based on Red, Black and White. Some of those include Path to Exile/Swords to Plowshares, Fatal Push, Mortify, Lightning Bolt, Lightning Helix, Unmake and Terminate. These spells can hit most creatures and help deal with creaturesplayerswere too late to counter or didn't want to counter. Board wipes are also a great emergency option that can generate huge card advantage, since opponents may lose several cardwhile you lose just one. Wrath of God, Damnation, Fumigate and Supreme Verdict are all solid options.

RELATED:Magic: The Gathering - The War-Torn Plane of Tarkir, Explained

Control decks are reactive, tending to rely on counterspells and/orremoval in the first few turns. However, avoid "dead" turns where you don't end up casting any reactive spells like these. If that situation happens, you'll want some backup, non-reactive spells, such as Think Twice, to give you something to do. If you're running Blue, White and Black, you can cast Esper Charm during these dead turns to draw cards or make your opponent discard them. Snapcaster Mage is also an option, as is Sphinx's Revelation.

Black mana gives you the power of hand control, so you can see which cards your opponent has ahead of time and get rid of the most problematic ones. Thoughtseize, Inquisition of Kozilek and Duress are common options.

Finally, be sure to include finishers: Cards that are powerful and win you the game. You'll only have a few, since one or two can go a long way, and you don't want an opening hand that's packed with them. Good examples include Celestial Colonnade, Jace the Mind Sculptor, therling, Ugin, the Spirit Dragon, Batterskull and any of the two-color Niv-Mizzet creatures.

RELATED: Magic: the Gathering - How to Play the Iconic CCG Online

A major aspect of playing control is discretion. You won't counter every spell or remove every creature, since you don't have the sheer card power for that. Instead, you must know what is and isn't a vital threat, saving your removal/counters for cards that you can't handle. This is why control is also known as a "permission" strategy. You may, for example, let a 2/2 creature enter the battlefield but say no to a 3/3 that shows up the next turn. This is especially important against combo decks, which can win the game out of nowhere with just the right cards. Countering just the right spell can keep your opponent on the defensive, and they won't have much to do if their combo is locked away. Patience is key, and the early game is about surviving, not establishing dominance. Instead, the goal is to keep your opponent from establishing dominance.

Meta-knowledge is also essential for playing control, since this is a reactive deck. Your spells and sideboard should be tailor-made to the local meta of your chosen format and/or local game store, since not all control-oriented card are "jack of all trades." If there's a lot of artifacts in your meta, include cards like Steel Sabotage or Stony Silence in the sideboard, and if graveyard-oriented decks are common, go for cards like Relic of Progenitus, Rest in Peace and Leyline of the Void, though bear in mind they may hurt your graveyard, too.

Captain Sandy Explains What Happens When a Charter Guest Leaves the Yacht Right Before Departure – Bravo - July 1, 2020 by Mr HomeBuilder

Most of the time, the Below Deck yacht is out cruising on the high seas to give charter guests the luxury vacation of a lifetime. But once in a while, the boat is stuck at the dock when weather just doesn't permit it to set sail.

That was the case for the start of the third charter of Season 5 of Below Deck Mediterranean, which was featured in the June 29 episode. But things were looking up on the morning of the second day of the charter when Captain Sandy Yawn prepared to take The Wellington out to sea.

Unfortunately, third stew Jessica More didn't seem to get the memo that the yacht was about to depart, and she told a charter guest that she could take a walk on the dock. Thankfully, the crew saw the charter guest walking down the dockbefore The Wellington left.

But what if no one had noticed the charter guest was gone, and the yacht had left the dock? Well, that would never have happened, according to Captain Sandy. "Got some [questions] about the charter guest that left the yacht for a run," she tweeted on June 30. "We always do a head count before we leave the dock. [Haven't] left anyone behind."

The charter guest made it back to the boat safely, and this just ended up being a "whoopsie," as Jessica said during the episode. However, The Wellingtonlost itswindow of opportunity due to the delay. The wind started picking up, making it so the yacht couldn't leave the dock, after all.

We'll have to wait and see how the rest of this charter fares in the next episode of Below Deck Med, but judging from the below preview, staying at the dock seems to be the least of the crew's worries.

‘Below Deck Med’: Why Bugsy Changed Her Mind About Working With Hannah, Being a Second Stew, And Having a Boatmance – Decider - July 1, 2020 by Mr HomeBuilder

Bugsy is back! Below Deck Mediterranean viewers learned last week that Christine Bugsy Drake would be returning to the Bravo series for the first time since her Season 2 debut. And while the viewers seem excited, bosun Malia White and Captain Sandy are definitely excited, chief stew Hannah Ferrier isneutral?

Decider jumped on the phone with Bugsy last week, where shes currently working on a charter boat in the Bahamas to hear all about her return to the show. Here, she tells us why she never thought shed work as a second stew again, and the only reason she agreed to it this time including why she had hope for working with Hannah again. Plus, she teases a potential boatmance on the way and explains the weirdest item shes ever used as table decor.

DECIDER: How does it feel to be back?

It feels surreal but really exciting. I cant believe its been three seasons. But yeah, it feels really good to be back. Im really excited about it.

Tell me a little bit about your first reaction when you got the call from Captain Sandy. What were you thinking and what were your first questions for her about joining the boat?

I was caught off guard completely, hearing from Captain Sandy. Id just finished [another] stint and was just taking a little bit of a break before I got on another boat. The call came at pretty much the perfect time. When I first got the call from her, I was a little bit apprehensive. I wasnt really sure what position she was calling me in for. My questions for her were: What position am I coming to fulfill? She mentioned it was a second stew position, and my first thoughts were: am I going to be working under Hannah again? Which was kind of a thing for me, because Id always said after last season, Im done with Hannah. I would never take another second stew position. It was something Id tried and tested and obviously didnt work for me in that case. It was definitely a big no-no. But Sandy is somebody I really respect, and I kind of felt, well you know what, why not? Ive got the time to do it. Might as well help her out, shes in a bind. Maybe its a shot at redemption for my relationship with Hannah. Maybe we can turn things around. I tried to look at it in a positive light.

How long were you on the boat before that positive light started to dim, would you say?

I mean, I try to keep it at least for a charter, I dont turn too negative. This time around, I took the whole idea of it in a more humble approach, let me put it that way. I tried to put my ego aside. I had to keep reaffirming, in my mind, that I wasnt coming there for Hannah. I think that helped with keeping it positive and light.

How does working with Captain Sandy compare to some of the other captains that youve worked with? And what do you like about working with her?

Sandys the first and only woman captain Ive ever worked with. Theres a sense of comfort, in terms of working for a woman. We are the same sort of species. [Laughs] I dont know what better way to put it. Because they can understand you a lot better than a male captain can. I just know what Sandy expects. It takes a really good leader to voice exactly what you expect, what your standard is. I think it makes the job a lot easier. Theres no guessing.

Was there anything you were determined to do differently this time around?

Definitely. Its been three years, Ive matured and grown myself a lot. Ive gotten to know myself a lot better. Coming back onto the show, I was a lot more open to just being who I am. Just enjoying it, instead of trying to guard myself and guard any of my flaws. This time, I was just like, Take me as I am.

Im guessing you watched this past episode when Sandy lets everybody know youre going to be coming on the boat. What was your reaction to seeing Hannahs non-reaction to the news?

I mean, I wasnt surprised at all. Definitely wasnt surprised. It was actually pretty humorous for me, Im not going to lie.

Was there anything that gave you hope that maybe your working relationship this time would be different?

Yeah. The time thats passed, I was hoping that we could let bygones be bygones. As I said, coming in with a more humble approach. In my mind, I was like, Im not even coming for the second stew position. Im just coming to support and to help this team, whatever they need. I think that was the mental approach I had with it. It wasnt to do with any position, it was just more where I could come in and help out.

That is a very mature way of framing it. We see in the preview that Hannah is showing you where the stuff to make all the table decorations is. We know she doesnt like doing that, but it seems like you actually really like it. Were you thinking, let me at it, leave me alone and let me decorate the tables?

For sure. Im just like, why not use your strengths where you can, you know? I know she doesnt like to set up tables. I thought, this is a good way for us to manage our working relationship. We just have clear lines of who does what. If this is something Im super passionate about, its going to make me happier within the team and its going to help me uplift and strengthen the team on that front. Just by showing me that, and giving me the cupboard full of decorations gives me the hope that maybe things will work better between us.

Whats a task on the boat that you actually do not like doing?

Probably making beds. I dont mind it, but its probably my worst task on the boat.

What is the strangest item youve ever used to decorate a table?

Probably a propeller off of a smaller tender.

Oh, thats interesting! Was it appreciated, did the guests like it?

Super appreciated. It was really fun. It was like, Where on earth did you find this? It was an old propeller found in a dumpyard. It had been bent and broken, so they werent able to use it on the tender anymore. So I just snatched it out of the trash and used it. Recycled table decor!

One mans trash is another womans table decorations.

Exactly, exactly. I love that, actually.

How about third stew Jess, did you guys get along? Did you work well together?

Meeting Jess for the first time, shes a sweet girl. I feel like Hannahs really got her in her pocket. Again, I have my reservations about whats being said about me to her. I kind of feel that her mind might be warped in the sense of not really knowing who I am. We got along fine. And like I said, I wasnt there to make friends. I was just there to come and help.

It was nice to hear that you and Malia had stayed close friends, maybe even gotten closer since the last time you guys worked together. What is your friendship like?

Its been an incredible friendship that weve kept going since we first worked together. Its a funny story, my sister ended up working with Malia shortly after Malia and I worked together. My sister and I are very close, and it made all of us pretty close. We had a lot of Skype chats and Whatsapp chats when we were on the boat. Weve always kept in contact. Malia knows my family, I know most of her family. We just had a very strong friendship, ever since we first worked together. Its just continued.

We only got a quick glimpse of you last week, but hows the reception been from viewers so far?

Im honestly so surprised by the positive feedback Ive had. The show has become a lot bigger since I first did it. There are people who are still catching up on the series itself, but Ive been really surprised at the good feedback Ive had from viewers. Im very excited to see the rest of the season.

Is theres anything you can tease, something to look forward to, or that youre excited for people to see this season?

Theres a lot to see this season. I think its probably going to be one of the craziest seasons in the whole franchise history. Theres just so many exciting things you never know whats around the corner. Things that even blew my mind. Id say, for me, theres a lot of growth in my character this season. I think also, an interesting thing for me is Im a lot more open to romance on a boat. Open to that, if anythings going to come from that. Trying to balance work and romance, which is something Ive always been against. But Im being kind of open to it this season.

What changed your mind to being open toit?

Ive come on as a second stew, a lot less responsibility. I thought, why not have a little bit of fun with it?

I know youre currently on a boat in the Bahamas. How is the yachting industry right now? Is it back to normal? Is it weird? Are there new procedures?

The yachting industry has definitely taken quite a big hit. Im fortunate enough to still be employed because a lot of boats have laid off crew. Theres no use in having them when everything was going down with COVID. But I think were very hyper-aware at the moment. Just in the Bahamas here, were getting tested regularly because were a charter boat. Having guests come and go, weve got to get tested every now and then just to make sure the crew are still good. Being on a yacht, youve got a heightened sense of hygiene and protocol, but its taken to the next level right now. Everythings being wiped down constantly. Were just trying to keep on top of everything. Its definitely a weird time for the industry, in terms of reopening ports and where the boats can travel. Its interesting, well have to see what happens.

‘Below Deck Med’: Bugsy Drake Teases a Boatmance This Season – Showbiz Cheat Sheet - July 1, 2020 by Mr HomeBuilder

Deckhand Alex Radcliffe from Below Deck Mediterranean instantly had his eye on second stew Christine Bugsy Drake.

Previews hint that the two get cozy in the jacuzzi, but also Drake teased that viewers may see her having a boatmance this season. An interesting thing for me is Im a lotmore open to romanceon a boat, she dished with Decider.

Open to that, if anythings going to come from that, she hinted. Trying to balance work and romance, which is something Ive always been against. But Im being kind of open to it this season.

Theres a lot to see this season. I think its probably going to be one of the craziest seasons in the whole franchise history, she said. Theres just so many exciting things you never know whats around the corner. Things that even blew my mind. Id say, for me, theres a lot of growth in my character this season.

Drake isnt the only stew hooking up with a deckhand. Third stew Jessica More and deckhand Robert Westergaard didnt waste much time before they hooked up. The two seem smitten with each other, but Westergaard shared hes also involved with someone else on land.

Needless to say, their boatmance seems to remain out at sea. More and Westergaard dont follow each other on Instagram. Plus More describes the romance as being intense. They always say dont screw the crew, she told Showbiz Cheat Sheet.

I like to figure people out, she said because Westergaard was very mysterious at first. It really drew me to him because I just found it intriguing him being quiet. And he always looked like there was a lot of things going on in his head. So I think just my curiosity got the best of me and I wanted to figure out what was going on.

Drake told Decider she was done with Ferrier after season 2. I was caught off guard completely, hearing from Captain Sandy, she admits.

Which was kind of a thing for me, because Id always said after last season, Im done with Hannah, Drake added.

Also, I would never take another second stew position, she said.

So far, so good when Drake initially returns. But how long will that last? I mean, I try to keep it at least for a charter, I dont turn too negative, Drake said. This time around, I took the whole idea of it in a more humble approach, let me put it that way. She added, I tried to put my ego aside. I had to keep reaffirming, in my mind, that I wasnt coming there for Hannah. I think that helped with keeping it positive and light.
