Stone Creek Builders Comes to Completion on 6 Month Renovation - April 29, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Matawan, NJ (PRWEB) April 29, 2014

Officials from SCB, Stone Creek Builders, announced on April 28, 2014 the impending completion of renovations to a Fair Haven home, after roughly six months of pouring love and care into the project.

The project to improve the Fair Haven home was described by an SCB representative as a labor of love, one in which the group upgraded everything from the home's kitchen and bathrooms to its plumbing and lighting fixtures.

Through careful planning and skillful execution, SCB completely renovated the home's kitchen. Upgrades to the area included white and black cabinets, stainless steel commercial appliances and mosaic tile by "New Revenna" to add a whimsical touch to the commercial feel.

The group also renovated the bathrooms in the home. The master bath was reworked with all white marble, a claw-foot soaking tub, marble steam shower fitted with custom shower doors, hand-held shower head and a rain-shower head.

The SCB group reworked the other bathroom with all-white, subway tile. Half a bath was decked out with a new toilet bowl, new vanity and fish wallpaper to add a lighthearted touch.

All the home's flooring was sanded and re-finished. To compliment the improved flooring, wall paneling was upgraded with Wainscoting in some areas. The home's light system was upgraded with new light fixtures, wall scones, chandeliers, ceiling fans and lantern pendants.

The SCB group painted the house and applied wall paper to some of the home's rooms. As evidenced by the charming, whimsical touches added to the home's kitchen and bathrooms, the SCB group wanted the renovations to be as heartwarming for the homeowners as they were practical.

"The house was a labor of love," stated an SBC representative. "We hope the home owner loves it as much we do."

All that's left to reach completion of the renovation is bring the furniture back into the home, along with all of the homeowners' collectibles and personal items.

Summer home tours scheduled by area builders - April 27, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Spring has barely made its presence known, but area builders are looking forward to summer.

Three area builders groups have scheduled late-summer home tour events designed to showcase their designs and craftsmanship and get a jump on 2015 construction.

Last week, the Home Builders Association of Fort Wayne announced its 2014 Parade of Homes and Lifestyle Show will take place Sept. 6 to 14. The location is The Forest of Foxwood, which hosted 2005s parade.

The Builders Association of Northeast Indiana will host its annual scattered-site Builders Parade Aug. 1 to 3 and Aug. 8 to 10. And, the Builders Association of Kosciusko and Fulton Counties has moved its Homes on Parade from its traditional slot in May to Sept. 5 to 7.

According to Joni Truex, the Kosciusko area associations executive officer, that group delayed the parade because the severe winter affected home construction.

The frozen ground had prevented builders from being able to start or complete building projects, she says. We are waiting until the fall to unveil the beautiful new custom homes and excellent remodeling projects.

Jan Garman, co-executive officer of BANI, says that group does not know how many houses will be on display in August. However, past events have had six to eight homes, many on the regions lakes.

Kim Ward, marketing director for Foxwoods developer, North Eastern Group, says the parade to date includes seven homes and two villas and a nearly 25,000-square-foot exhibition tent.

A new feature is that builders will be paired with major sponsors who will co-brand the homes, Ward says, adding about 15,000 people are expected to go through the properties.

Participating builders so far are Bob Buescher Homes of Fort Wayne and Angola, Granite Ridge Builders of Fort Wayne and Goshen, Timberlin Homes of Leo and Hickory Creek Homes, Quality Crafted Homes, Slattery Builders and Star Homes by Delagrange & Richhart, all of Fort Wayne.

Builders, remodelers show off their work - April 27, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Published: Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 17:54 PM.

The first day of a two-weekend 2014 Spring Parade of Homes and Remodelers Tour took advantage of real spring weather and a recovering housing market to bring folks out to look, plan and even dream.

Sponsored by the Home Builders Association of Craven and Pamlico Counties, the noon to 5 p.m. free tours feature 22 homes, including 18 newly constructed and four remodeling projects. The Parade of Homes continues today.

In an area with as many finely constructed homes in neighborhoods of distinct character, remodeling and renovation is a frequent choice for home owners and buyers and remodeled outdoor living spaces can add a new dimension to living most of the year.

Association Executive Director Rachelle Hall Oliver said she would have better information later about the number of people touring, but builders and homeowners expect to be busy each of the four days the homes will be open for viewing.

Guests wander through 18 subdivision areas. Home building professionals from outside the area judged entrees and selected the work of a few of the 12 area builders as particularly special.

All homes placing first in the New Construction category are on the tour and open for viewing again Sunday and both days next weekend.

Some of the remodeled home winners are not, however. First place in the Best Whole House Renovation under $100,000, done by Coastal Craftsmen, LLC at 2015 Horseshoe Bend in Trent Woods, and first place Best Outdoor Living $10,000 to $25,000, done by Pope Custom Homes at 116 Teufen Road in Taberna, are open for viewing. Coastal Craftsmen, LLC also did the work on the house winning Best Whole House Renovation over $100,000 which is not on the tour.

New construction winners include Category 1 winner by J.C. Jackson at 3100 Catarina Lane, Category 2 winner Bill Clark Homes of Greenville at 111 Plantation Creek Drive, Category 3 winner Scheper Custom Homes at 309 Ramona Lake Court, Category 4 winner A. Sydes Construction Inc. at 3126 Bettye Gresham Lane, Category 5 winner Jason Arthur Construction at 121 Partridge Drive (which is also New Construction Best in Show), and Category 6 winner Pope Construction Homes at 105 E. Overlook Court.

Other Remodel/Renovation awards went to homes not on the Parade, including Best in Show to Pope Custom Homes for a residence on Green Springs Road.

Talis Park introduces Seneca's "In the Park" neighborhood - April 27, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Submitted Senecas north and south facing lakefront homesites feature water and double or triple fairway views. The neighborhood will feature residences ranging from 3,200 to 5,000 square feet. Custom home and lot packages are priced from $1.6 to $2.2 million.

Talis Park has introduced Seneca, a new neighborhood that will showcase 43 luxury residences offering the North Naples communitys hallmark In the Park living experience.

Wrapped by the Sea Dwarf paspalum vistas of Talis Parks Greg Norman-Pete Dye designed golf course, Senecas north and south facing lakefront homesites feature water and double or triple fairway views. Priced from the high $400s to $700,000, each of these sites is 190 to 200 feet deep, 77 to 100 feet wide, and will accommodate residences ranging from 3,200 to 5,000 square feet. Custom home and lot packages in Seneca are priced from $1.6 to $2.2 million.

Talis Parks neighborhoods offer the choice of living in a parklike setting or within walking distance of Talis Parks Grand Piazza. This In the Park or In the Village approach reflects developer Kitson & Partners commitment to creating a New Fashioned community where every aspect is relevant to the residents daily lives. Kitson has brought an energized spirit to Talis Park by introducing a lifestyle that is more focused on personal health and well-being, more attuned to family and friends, and more conscious of long-term value and legacy.

In addition to its parklike ambiance, Seneca is within a short walk or bike ride of Talis Parks Grand Piazza, the home of the communitys New Fashioned Vyne House clubhouse and the Great Lawn. Seneca residents will have immediate access to Fionas Market Caf, the Core Fitness Center, and the Esprit Spa, each of which is located at Vyne House. Fionas serves fresh, local fare, wine selections, bar service and other useful daily items.

Kitson has announced it is moving forward with the construction of Vyne House Phase II. Vertical construction is scheduled to begin fourth quarter 2014. Kitson anticipates holding a soft opening of Phase II in December 2015 and a grand opening in January 2016. The combination of Senecas parklike setting and easy access to Talis Parks amenity core will offer a living experience that takes full advantage of all the community offers.

One cornerstone of Kitsons vision for Talis Park is the notion that design matters. As is the case in the communitys other seven neighborhoods, Seneca will offer all-new designs in a refreshing palette of Spanish Eclectic, Italian Renaissance, and Colonial Caribbean architectural styles.

The Seneca residences will be built by four of Southwest Floridas luxury homebuilders, including McGarvey Custom Homes, Fox Custom Builders, Harbourside Custom Homes and Gulfshore Homes. Each participating builder will begin construction of a furnished Seneca model within the next 30 to 60 days. Harbourside Custom Homes will also begin construction of an unfurnished Resident Ready residence.

In addition to its belief that designs matters, Kitson also believes that choice matters. Seneca joins Talis Parks other seven neighborhoods to provide a diverse array of residential choices.

Family of fallen airman given new home - April 24, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

ABERDEEN Last October, Krista Harvell thought she was attending a military appreciation event on the Pinecrest High School football field.

Instead, the Golden Knights jumped into the field and handed her blueprints to a new house being built just for her and her two young sons.

"It was a shock to say the least," she said.

The home is courtesy of the Moore County chapter of Operation Finally Home, a group that provides custom-made mortgage-free homes to wounded and disabled veterans and the widows of the fallen, and the Moore County Home Builders Association.

Harvell's husband, Staff Sgt. Andrew Harvell, was killed Aug. 6, 2011, when a CH-74 Chinook helicopter he was aboard was shot down by the Taliban in Afghanistan. He was a combat controller for the 24th Special Tactics Squadron, an Air Force Special Operations Command unit based at Pope Field.

The $350,000 home - about three miles from where the Harvells lived in Southern Pines - also is a product of the Moore County community. Almost all the money to build the home has been raised through fundraisers, donated supplies and labor, not to mention dozens of volunteers and the cooperation of a group of normally competitive builders.

Only $30,000 remains to be raised to complete the 2,600-square-foot home.

Harvell said the home, which is expected to be finished by next month, exceeds her expectations.

"If I designed it myself, it wouldn't be this great," she said.

Krista and Andrew Harvell met in 2006 when she was visiting her brother, Tom Klonk, who served in the same unit. They started dating the next year, a week after she moved to Moore County following her graduation from Ohio State University.
